gould was one of those people who could, if you played a note and if he was blind folded, could tell you what note was being played. A lot of people, if not most, can't do that. In fact, it's not uncommon for people who spend four years or even more in college playing the paino, to be unable to identify what note is being played. some colleges / universities don't even train to that level of degree, which I think is fucked up. If you are serious about the piano, you must train your ears.
