I really like this and I wish I seen this last night. Was rolling yesterday against higher belt and got them into this position but I didnt know how to finish it.
one thing to take into account that happened to me.. i did this against a very strong opponent and he ended up taking my foot that is not locked under my knee and footlocked me to a tap right off of the bat while i worked on obtaining the stray arm. He was a brown belt.
I don't think the initial step work work against an experience BJJ person, let alone getting the triangle after that. You might get it once, but that's it.
I think that with every tyechnique its hard to pull it twice on a experuienced person but even once is good enough when you get a tap. Every technique the more you practice the better chance of you pulling it off. I agree it would be hard to pull off but with smooth practice it can be done
when I first started bjj I did this a lot as I had no idea how to escape from the side control position. I would lock the triangle and go for the stray arm but usually just end up stalling and not doing much. I caught a lot of blues, a purple, and a 240 pound brown with this technique... it does work, but you will only get one shot hehe.
but, at the 0:07 mark I would curl my R arm around his left upper arm (to trap his L arm in place) - the last thing you want is for him to rip/reposition his left arm and get the Kimura
This video has the most submissions while on the bottom of side control that I've ever seen.
