I had bone spur removed but had to have the rotator cuff repaired the following year,DR said it was streched like someone had pulled on taffy.OK now though.Months of therapy.
I just had my shoulder worked on in lafayette Indiana and its only been about 17 days since I had it and I have a lot of movement that I can do and I'm still in my sling
i am going in for the third time on my shoulder, my tendon wont keep together,, i really hope mine dont look like this one,,, this doesnt even look good at all,,, i hope your not in any pain now,, that is what i am shooting for,, pain free an the use of my arm abck again
Que miedo!!! PESIMA cirugía mal orientación de ancla, mala inclinación, nudo no autobloqueante de alto perfil, en fin puedo seguir y seguir.... por gente como el se desprestigia la practica medica
this is not a rotator cuff repair. that's the Labrum they're anchoring down. i've never seen anyone tie knots so sloppy either. when we fix these where i work we use anchors that don't even require knots sticking up like that. this is more of an "old" type repair
@BEASAWARE96 im having my internship on physical therapy right now. i got a patient with repaired rotator cuff. he is restricted to stress out the muscles for 4 weeks after operation. so we are in protection phase of therapy for now until 4 weeks. i am not trying to get his power back for now, but preventing his shoulder from secondary complications like LIMITATION OF MOTION AND CONTRACTURES. i am also applying physical modalities to make the recovery faster. getting the power back comes late.
@BEASAWARE96 expect months of physical rehabilitation before getting your shoulder back to normal. if you are not from The Philippines, then expect much longer in getting your shoulder back to normal, lol.
i dislocated my shoulder 4days ago playing gaelic football (in Ireland), surgery is a possibility.
i love football, play it everyday since i was a child, only 17 nearly 18 full of minor injuries damaged tendons, broken fingers and ankle etc... nothing serious.
but im just wondering were any of ye able to play football and/ do physical excercise and physical sports after surgery or physeo... please HELP, thanks...
I have seen several other surgeries on here about this and this is the first one that I saw them anchor the sutures in the cuff. Most all of the others put it in the bone. I DO NOT tolerate pain well & I will have to have this soon. My arm muscles have atrophied and I hurt down my arm too but not all the time. The doctor said he'd do a nerve block. Plus General Ana. however I am allergic to most any pain killer that has codeine in it. I'm scared.
I had a rotator cuff repair in which my cuff was anchored to the bone. Pain and limited flexibility for months afterwards. I am still not 100% but I am slightly better than before the surgery. My left shoulder started hurting bad afterwards and it was thought that was torn too. It turned out to be just a huge bone spur. Nevertheless it now hurts a great deal as the pain radiates down entire arm & I am tolerant to pain meds so I feel the entire pain. Just plain agony. Unbareable.
Hi , I live in South Africa, I have had one shoulder stablization on my left shoulder and two rotator cuff repairs and going to have another in the next two weeks. I have lax shoulders that pop very often. The pain all depends on the person doing the pain control. The nerve block is the best for this opp. If they control the pain from before you wake up, it is ok! then normal anti - inflamatories work well.
Depending on thehow bad the tear is you could be using your arm in 6-8weeks .
ouch i have dislocated mine 6 times in the past 2 years and every doctor i see wouldnt reconmend this as it can be painful for a long period after the surgery also could limit sports activiteshow painful was it after/
i think i tore my shulder, but i had a shulder injury and it happend in my '08-'09 season in football. but this year, 2010, it popped out about once every month
Ugg I might need to have this kind of Surgery........ I dislocated and broke my shoulder at the same time and I broke it right were the Rotator Cuff is.........
doctors amaze me...
i have no idea what i just watched

please note-this is not a rotator cuff repair, it is and arthroscopic repair of the anterior labrum, or a Bankart repair

what happens to the bone thats flying everywhere while drilling?
kirkferentzrocks 11 months ago
@kirkferentzrocks the drill doubles as a vacuum, its being sucked into that, hence why it is flying in the air.

this is not "torn rotator cuff" surgery, this is anterior labral surgery
