great advert but what happened to the ear? you see an ear moving separately as you do other facial features but it doesnt appear to connect with the rest of the features like other parts do! not that i'm critising such a very well crafted advert! Just never noticed that before
Does anyone remember the name of the full length song that used images from this advert, was called Opera House or something along those lines. I remember seeing it around 1991
it was such a great rendition of such a great opera...OH...makes your heart go dancing regardless of place..situation or wherever you are..and yeah it was the re-composition of Yanni of flower duet.
In 1989, McLaren and composer Yanni arranged The Flower Duet into a work called Aria. The 'Flower Duet' theme, taken from the French opera Lakmé by Léo Delibes, had already been used by composer Howard Blake[8] to accompany British Airways commercials since 1984. However, from 1989 McLaren and Yanni further arranged the Flower Duet and it featured in BA's "World's favourite Airline" global advertising campaign of the 1980s and 1990s.
Monalisa Young sang the Vocals on this British Airways commercial. She also sang the vocals of this song Aria on Yanni's albums. Although you can hardly see her name, it's there! Notice I said "Albums".

a memorable ad, but the ultimate kind of touchy feely but meaningless advertising, also the world map is so euro-centric, where's asia and australia?

It's Malcolm McLaren's version of Delibes' Flower Duet (les lianes en fleur) - RIP MM.
Not sure where you got "Yanni" from.

OK, I now know where you got Yanni from - he indeed did work on the piece. Learn something new every day.

And what is wrong with Yanni? Why should it be trendy to bash him?

@Book7BrokeMyBrain Johnlee1965 is correct. The version that I think you are reverring to is from Yanni. The song's name is Aria, by Yanni.

@Book7BrokeMyBrain I believe it was done by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics who was covering for Delibes' Flower Duet.

@Book7BrokeMyBrain. No, this version was not done by Yianni. It was done by Malcom McLaren. Yianni did his copy much later.
