  • whats a M-CARD My tiro is asking for it?????

  • we Osoo close

  • What is a Tivo box??? AT&T cable and phone is way better!

  • Im going to stick with my DirecTV HD DVR. good vid though

  • I don't have a cable box, my cable is hot will tivo still work?

  • That's not simple so many wires lol

  • Why not simply use the S-Video?

  • That's my exact TV! It's so old, how obscure!!

Thanks so much for the help.

  • why would you have a tivo if you already have cable thats my question

  • @joeldude76 because it is a dvr. Standard cable can't rewind, pause and record shows. But with tivo you get to do that also share music, pictures, and videos on your tv! You can also watch youtube on it and netflix!

  • But if all cable or satellite providers give you a DVR, why buy something they will be charging a monthly basis?

  • just get htpc or a tv tuner card. OR, u get a DVD-R and buy a pack of dvds. Dats what i would do

  • @chancho00 because the Tivo can access Netflix , YouTube and other services on the web.

  • i have hooked up tivo as instructed but only get basic channels even though i do have premium packages. i have followed trouble shooting but there is nothing about what happens after all channel setup is done and premium packages are checked... yet still not coming in. any help would be great!

  • yes

  • What do you do when you have two RF cables coming out of your wall like i do in my case? I have two because the whole house is wired in a daisy-chain configuration. If i leave one RF not hooked up with a return signal my broadband high-speed cable data connection goes down.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

  • if the TiVo records the video/audio signal from the cable box, why are we splitting the coax and feeding it into the box and the TiVo??

  • you split the coax feed because you cannot split the digital signal for dual tuning. you get dual tuning from one digital composite input from cable box, and one analog coax input from the splitter. this is why if your cable company switched to an all-digital lineup, you lose dual tuner ability on this particular model

  • Actually she is correct calling red, yellow, and white composite. Red, Blue, Green are referred to as COMPONENT and used for high def.

  • The Composite connection mentioned is not accurate. Composite is actually the Red Blue Green signals coming into your tv for a higher definition source the yellow red and white mentioned is actually coax video, yellow; and left and right audio, red and white.

  • one thing they don't seem to make clear is if you can use the Tivo with out this costly service? can I just hook it up and recored my show with out getting there costly monthly service? This is why I don't get a Tivo is when I read about it they always talk about this service?

  • No my friend regard less of whatservice provider you have you will have to pay tivo a monthly subscription of 9.99-14.99 or pay the lifetime membership for 399.99

  • thanks for the help

  • Of course!!!! Always glad to help, as a matter of fact in a comcast video tech agent, so i know from experience as i deal with tivos all day.... ;)

  • Trying to hook up Tivo series 2 to Time Warner cable box cant get channels on Tivo to change stays on 1 channel

  • Thank you so much for posting this. The Quicktime on the TiVo website didn't work and I was going to pull my hair out.

  • Do i have to connect through a network?

  • You can get a Wifi adaptor for a nice price. It will give you the broadband features.

  • You can also use your phone line but the updates may be slow and also you dont get alot of the cool broadband features. As rendezvous65 said. And i belive you can get any wifi device as long as its usb or if the tivo near your wireless modem just plug a internet cord in and you got all the cool broadband features.

  • Thanks a million Elf, this was a lifesaver! They should include something like this on dvd to watch. The IR cable I would have never figured out.

  • i love my tivo

  • no but you can buy an offical Tivo wireless adapter that connects to Tivo's USB port. The cost is aroun $50-60 depending where you shop

  • does it have wifi?...or do i need an ethernet outlet...and is there another model with less cords...?????
