I've written it out before in my comments so scroll back to see.. basically the person running should be able t get the momentum going and you should have no problem continuing it. If you have any specific questions let me know. I'll try my best to help
Is there any tips you can give to do this better? cause me and my friend have to put it in our work. We have the basics down and we still need spotters to do it. Help would be great! thanks!
Hi, my friend and I almost have our double cartwheel down but when she lands me the second time I always fall(She's the person standing and I'm the person going over first). In case I wasn't being clear I'll rephrase it: She flips me over, I flip her over, she flips me over, I fall before I can get her over again. Any advice? (Please respond asap we have to get the double cartwheel perfected fast)
@jellicledwwfan First of all, don't think of it as flipping each other over. If you just think of it as doing a cartwheel it will go a little smoother. Once you get around the first two times you should have enough momentum to keep going. You shouldn't be able to stop in between each one to take a break. If you can get through the first two rounds, you should be able to keep going. Just stretch your legs and make sure you plant both legs on the ground so you don't loose your balance.
@ThatCoriGirl Thanks for the great advice! There is one more problem, whenever I cartwheel her over it always hurts my back and shoulders cuz I have to keep her up because she lets go when she's in the air and it's really uncomfortable (and dangerous for her). We can't switch spots either (she's not very strong).
@jellicledwwfan Well you probably already know my first piece of advice: Tell her to hold on for dear life!! haha. It might be hurting your back because you're landing wrong. It's tough for me to tell you what to do when I can't see it. You should only have your feet on the ground for a second because the next rotation starts as soon as you touch the ground. If the two of you aren't both able to hold each other, you might need to find new partners to practice with.
@ThatCoriGirl I can post a video of it sometime this week (probably). And we can't get new people cuz were doing Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer for our school's talent show. I'll try and verbaly explain: When she lands me the first time (and second and so on) I have to pick her up from the ground in a horisontal position and bend upwards to get the cartwheel going verticly again and I have to get her up and over myself, she does jump but it only helps a little.
@jellicledwwfan Yeah it sounds like you are the one doing all the work. The momentum should be doing the work. The stronger person should be the runner to start the momentum. The other person needs to keep it going too. It's dangerous for you to be lifting her like that. Have her practice cartwheeling over your legs. You squat down a little and she (facing away from you) cartwheels over you by wrapping her arms around your legs. Just have her do it (don't let her flip you over). Then, your turn.
@TheCocotoo If I can find time to get together with Michelle we can try. I'm not sure when I'll see her next because we both have VERY busy schedules but I'll try my best.
My friend michelle actually is a lot stronger than me. that's why she starts out running and I'm standing with my knees bent. the person that goes up first (her) has to have enough power to swing themself around and help the other person up for their first cartwheel. Once you get past the first one it's easier to keep it going.
just start with the first person cartwheeling on the other. the first person to cartwheel should be the stronger of the two because they have to keep the momentum going. just please be careful and don't fall on your heads!!
haha funny story actually.. that was pretty much the first time we ever did it. we tried like 2 or 3 times before that and would go around once or twice and the one time we decided to tape it we did like 7. it was fun, but i think it would take a while to be able to do that many again
