@iwatchRonPaulvideos - I used the pad and quill one for about 3 weeks bofore my portenzo case came in and i switched to that.. I have used the portenzo ever since.. They are very similar in design so I would say it should hold up about the same.. My portenzo is still in great shape.. the only thing is the sticker on the inside is fading from use.
Getting mine soon! I got the red interior. I chose it over the portenzo because pad and quill has the camera hole at no additional cost and the sound channel on the pad and quill seems like it is better because the portenzo has little holes which seems like they would muffle some voice unlike the pad and quill. I don't know for sure, but pad and quill website says the case is built with italian bonded leather. Not sure if it is real or not, but I am pretty sure portenzo has faux leather.
@iamthebesfromyou - you will love the P&D.. The sound chambers and cutouts in all the ones I have used all seem to work as stated... once you get your P&Q.. let us know what you think after a few months of using it.. always good to hear other's opinions and comments.. you made a good choice.. you won't be disappointed.. thanks for viewing my videos..
@BlueRidgeRuckus NP. I will tell you how the case is. You inspired me to get the case. I never knew about the P&Q cases and then I found them and I love em. I am getting it today so. I will feel the case for the first time.
@BlueRidgeRuckus I go the case and I got to say it is quite good. The red is like a maroon red. I will tell you all the rest after having time with it.
@BlueRidgeRuckus It is a really nice case, but my frame cracked... The really weird, yet awesome thing is that I contacted pad and quill and they will send me out a replacement. There are no other wrong things I can see about the case, other than no stand option, but they have the contega for that and I do not use the case as a stand.
@iamthebesfromyou I went with the portenzo because the have more custom choices and styles. When I was designing my case they had four different case styles to choose from....Italian Bonded Leather as well as faux leather, Teju & a Composition style. Each style has it's own set of color choices to choose from. I chose the Teju because I use my iPad for work mostly.
P&Q is releasing Contega (shipping starting tomorrow?). Just wanted to get your thoughts on it. Debating between Octavo and Contega. Not sure added bulk (~0.2 inches thicker and $20-30 extra) is worth it for the features. Do you find positioning of the Octavo/Portenzo limiting?
@ultslacker - after using these cases for a few months.. i haven't found any limitations.. honestly i probably used the stand up ability once or twice.. most of the time I am holding it like a book.. usually sitting on the couch.. never had a reason to use any of the other angles.. the Contega looks cool.. the design is unique and more like Apple's smart cover with the folding stand..either one will be great.. is it worth $20 more.. that i dunno.. but they all have been great so far..no problems
@BlueRidgeRuckus - Just got my Octavo in the mail today. I'm quite impressed with the quality. I also got The Little Black Book for my wife's iPhone. She loves the case. Thanks for the review videos.
@onethisone - I have the video footage recorded.. just need to get some spare time to finish the editing and narration.. i will see what i can do this week.. either one would be a good choice.. the octavo has thicker wood around the ipad vs the portenzo.. the portenzo lately has been lacking in the shipping department (checkout macrumors forums) anyways.. video comparison coming this week.. :)
@crlake - Thanks for watching.. i thought so too until i started doing research and found there are a handful of companies that make quality ipad 2 moleskine cases..
So which is your favorite of all these moleskine cases that you have?? and I was curious if you had one of these cases for your ipad 1. I was wondering how these cases hold up over time.
@junebugbaker - I dont have one of the cases for the ipad 1.. but i did a bunch of research before purchasing these cases.. At this moment it is a toss up between the Pad & Quill Octavo featured here.. and the Portenzo Levant case.. There are things i like about both and I want to use the Portenzo for another week before I make a comparison video so I can express my honest opinion.. I dont think you would go wrong with either case.. comparison video coming soon.. probably next week..
@logan59102 - I didnt put anything on the back.. i have read on macrumors some people did and it still fits in there.. i looked and since it doesnt really move i dont see any way it could get scratched.. but you could do it and still use the Octavo.. Getting my portenzos today so i might have unboxing and quick review of it online by tonight..
I want to like this but it just seems cheaply made. How's it stood up to wear?

blue ridge, Did you ever get around to doing the comparison between the potenzo and the pad & quill? I'm trying to decide between the two.

Quick question: did you put invisibleshield/ghost armor on the back of your ipad? I'm just afraid it would scratch the back :(
Thanks. Great Job !
