This is the most insulting thing I've heard in a long time. Synesthesia is not a "glitch" in our "wiring," it's not a "freakish voyage" that we experience, it is not a disorder, and we are NOT insane. I'm so used to it that I think it would be more "freakish" if I DIDN'T see or feel sounds and see letters and numbers as colors. Gosh, it makes it sound like we're crazy. >.<
um, we're not crazy you know. in fact, i would hate NOT to have synesthesia. I have ordinal linguistic personification, which means i give personalities to letters, colors, number, mosly things in groups or sequences. it makes remembering formulas for math so much easier for me, but can distract me as well.
I cant watch horror movies anymore since I tend to hallucinate as a side affect of my synaes. Apart from that I love my synaes , I have sound to movement , personification , days of the week and sound and taste. When I watch One piece it makes me so giggly XD.
their reality is closer to insanity? i'm perfectly sane thank you very much. synesthesia is far from an impairment....i'm totally blind but thanks to my synesthesia i still see colors through hearing. :)
Just one more fellow synesthete adding to the "WTF?" response here. It is not a "disorder" and we do not "suffer" from it, and it is absolutely nothing like tripping on acid. Srsly. DO YOUR DAMN RESEARCH.
What the fuck. What an exaggeration.... I mix sound and sight, sometimes even smell and touch with sight, but I'm not hindered in any way more than a 'normal person'. If anything my musical and artistic talent would be dead without.
@haiuchi I know! the world just wouldn't be as, oh what's the word? Detailed, i guess. Synesthesia makes everything so much more personalized, because no one's synethesia is exactly like anothers.
excuse me, but i have synesthesia, and our reality is NOT insanity!!! It is our way of viewing the world. we do not suffer from this disorder, rather, it is a gift that makes our world a little more colorful!
Oh my stars! This looks so amazing! I'm a little obsessed with the phenomenon of synesthesia, so any material about it is always great.
Although this seems a little derogatory, if you ask me. Most synesthetes actually like their condition and are very sane. They tend to be talented in the arts. I've certainly never heard of dropping acid to *get rid* of synesthesia. You can drop acid to get it, for a little while.
Okay, I just watched the movie the way through, and my opinion is a little changed. I think someone has mixed up synesthesia and ESP. Some synesthetes can see pheromones in color, but I don't see how that could help in a murder case. And I was wrong about the acid getting rid of synesthesia bit. Blame my speakers.
They make it sound like we're being tortured every second we live but in reality us synesthetes love it. I'm slightly offended.

When i first heard of this film, i thought it sounded fantastic, as i have synethesia too.
But this is bullshit! They make synetheses out to be psychos!!
I'd hate to live without synethesia! It's not a disorder either ¬.¬
But i suppose i have to take into consideration that this is a film. Not a documentory.

Synesthesia is NOT a disorder asshole
nothing about it is insane or would drive anyone to kill
This movie is BS man. It's a total distortion of what having Syn is like.

I bet Hollywood could remake this and make it suck for five times the cost of production.
Cool trailer.
