  • If you want more of "The FUTURE is WILD" check out the website: thefutureiswild com and at Facebook: facebook com / theFUTUREisWILD

  • I LOVED this special!

  • I love the world that is plain

    with wildlife and nature throughout

    in the far future.

  • Dinosaurs will rule in the future!

  • i just got the box set of this two weeks ago so entertaining

  • the show is out in channel 335 in comcast

  • Babookaris are my fav :)

  • I can't wait for series 2 to come out.

  • I remember seeing this ages ago. It was fucking stupid, but still entertaining.

  • thats exactly wahat i thought!!

i would give it a mixed review

  • Flish. I'm done.

  • When i first seen the preview for this on tv I was like...I want a giant parrot...

  • YESSS I remember seeing this years ago and I've been looking for this for a while!

  • go to google video and type the future is wild

  • @paleobc65 THANKS!

  • <3 Lovely music

  • love the documentary. but hate the animated series.

  • In the Mexican Version it says humans go to another planet and they send cams to view life on earth! And the music is way cooler

  • there's a mexican version?

    Whats it called?

  • i always wondered when i was a kid how life would look like in the future

  • aww I miss this!!!

i wish they would air this again! and some other shows like big cat diary and animal face off.

  • i got this on DVD at home

  • well when spore came out thay did thats when i first herd of this if u want u should got to netflix u could rent it. and animal face off is still around but thay only make one episode a year now manly because of protesters but netflix is one of the rare things to have these

  • Sorry this may be classified info but I know one of the creators of the show (Robert Mcneil Alexander) and he has said that another series will be aired in some time. They are already making new creatures.

  • are you serious!!???

    where'd you get that info?

omg i cant wait for it!!!

    XD

  • well depending on the climate its easy to predict that 1 ,million yrs from now u just tell on eveloutionary pattern how theyll get use to it

(im 11XD and i know that

  • Fuck YEAH!! can you send me the link to the info? that would be very appreciated.

  • @upgradefreavids Will they do a 2 billion years AD version? "Imagine a world... where the expansion of Sun into a red giant killed all life off Earth. The End"

  • @Sot4muumi

That won't be until about 3 billion A.D.

  • @upgradefreavids really? So what 500 million years? 1 Billion Years, DAMN im so friggin excited to see what the creatures are.

  • @upgradefreavids Thats not secret yo fool, the announced it on the website, but it is very exiting that there is going to be a new series.

  • Already got me interested...=D

  • @upgradefreavids YES OH MY GOD <3

Tell him that he already has a devoted viewer :)

  • Remember that show Earth 2

Thats what all this reminds me of.

    Great imaginative thoughts.

As far as Sharks. Even the brightest scientists can tell you like Alligators and Crocs have had the same structure and make up for hundreds of millions of years.

  • this kind of reminds me of pokemon

  • It gets really retarded doesn't it

  • How do you know?THEY`RE JUST THINKING!Are you from the future to know about it?Where is your time machine?

  • Who cares.

  • how do you know that?

  • Its almost like saying a goose might

    start laying golden eggs.

  • My grandfather ( Robert Mcneil Alexander) helped create this program. He has told me that his favorite animal was the megasquid.

  • Awesome

  • The carakiller looks prehistoric,

    not futuristic.

  • you obviously were expecting it to be half cyborg an carry huge laz0r b33ms and can teleport.

  • i liked this special. but it was disappointing the way they kept replaying footage

  • I love this show!

  • i got the entire dvd set...awesome show

  • they should do an show about the future of human evolution what will humans look like in 200,000 years from now?

  • that would be interesting

  • I wonder whos goin 2 put the Future is wild on youtube

  • im just amazed about how many different creatures will live in our far off future, hopefully we wont die off soon but we will die so yeah were done for.

  • Yea because those forms look like the path of least resistance...

Good thing they captured every animal in their habitat and how they'd react to each other and evolve... oh wait they didn't. Oh good thing they involved the food supply and how plants evolve too... oh wait they didn't.

Nice experiment nothing here looks credible. Ideas are nice, especially if you can think of how an animal will change but don't post it beside a scientific theory that isn't as clumsy.

  • You really can't predict how a creature will evolve. So while these are possible, they're unlikely.

Besides, the show was just meant to get ratings.

  • yeah ur right i think they wnet a little tooo far

  • I feel they balanced science with creativity well ^_^ that's what makes it so interesting. Reality won't turn out exactly as they depict, but it really teaches a lot about evolution in general.

  • And if it is surreal, it still is hella cool. Watching someones imagination in action is fun.

  • what are you guys talking about! this show was built around the scientific study conference they called the future is wild. this wasn't just some ratings-catching tv show, and although i don't believe that is exactly what will happen, everything they said about the world in the future was old news by the time the show was made. the scientists just thought up what animal traits would be most likely to show around which time period.

  • Agreed on the geographic part. I'm not denying that these are all possibilities. In fact, if these environments come up, and humans are gone from the earth, it's very likely that at least some of their traits will appear. But some of them seem like longshots.

I see no reason to suggest birds will replace whales in 5 million years.

That giant jellyfish colony (can't think of name) doesn't seem likely, especially when jellyfish seem to have changed so little over millions of years. -Continued

  • -continued-

Everything past 200 million years seems unlikely. Fish might replace birds, but they could have made it look, less platypus like.

The whole squids inheriting the earth part assumes their 100 million years prediction was correct. Don't get me wrong, that was my favorite part.

But since this didn't seem to have much educational value (it has some, but most of the program wasn't), and it was entertaining, I say it was probably made for ratings. Or because it was fun to make.

  • By the time that happens humans would be planet jumping finding hospitable planets elsewhere.

  • Might be, but also might not be.

  • Could be, or we could be extinct like the dinosaurs, evolution says humans will come and go.

  • More giant killer birds!!!!!

  • When you think about how long we've been here, we're insignificant, and could disappear tomorrow for all the world cares.

We're all going to die; face the facts.

  • sun will supernova, we will die

  • Exactly. Even if humankind would survive, sun would swallow us as it turns into a red giant, wich is the first thing that occurs when it's gonna go boom. Unless, of course, we find a way to breathe without oxygen, and live without the earth and the sun. >.>'

But that would mean we are already a different species already though.

  • How can someone really believe we are not going to die? Even if we survive, the sun is gonna swallow us as it goes boom.

  • That wouldn't be only our end but also of the creatures shown in this video.

Science, Knowledge... we will find a way.

  • Hmm... you mean the supernova? Well I did not say it wouldn't be end of these guys here too.

  • Our sun isn't big enough to go supernova, as a red giant it will swell and hemorage material into space revealing the core which will dim to a cold remnant, less spectacular but there you go.

  • Oh, really? Because I have heard, many times by now, that it will go supernova swallowing us all. But well, we will die without it's light at least, aight? xD

  • Sorry I'll clarrify - you are right about it swelling (big enough even to engulf earth) becoming a red giant. A supernova is something else altogether - this is where a star explodes instead of swelling - sometimes bathing other solar systems in radiation! That requires stars several times more massive than our lightweight sun. Yeah we're screwed either way.

  • I see, I see, thanks for the explonation. ^^

And yes, we indeed are, even though many generations will propably still pass. ^^

  • yes that will happen some day but we wont live to see it nither will our children or our childrens children or our childrens childrens children!

  • Or we may not... that idea kind of washes out evolution, because in evolution everything comes and goes whether they evolve or not, like the dinosaurs.

  • Our sun would probobly turn into a red giant and it would only destroy the inner planets.

  • No actually I think it will swallow the whole "universum" of ours, so all the way to pluto... wich is not to be counted as a planet, but the heck. And even if we would be spared, we would die without it's light... unless, of course, we have a new source like sun.

  • gotta catch them all!!

  • Yes indeed! I choose you, shittysaurus!

  • This was amazing.

The scientists are funny, i like Bruce Tiffney. I can hear him now...

"My father just let me out of the basement last week for the fifty years!"

  • time for new species

  • this was an amazing show

  • yup we humans and other animals today will be all gone. extinct dead to the bone. time for the new animals to come on the block.

  • either extinct or we just moved on to another planet. but for sure the animals today WILL be gone.

  • does anyone have this uploaded?? cuz i want to see it so bad...

  • how long did this series stay for? how many seasons?

  • This didnt seem to last long, but it was still interesting. I remember seeing this a few years ago...

  • this one of my fav tv series

i always watched them in my country! i just love them!

  • evolution and God dont go 2gether

Adam n Eve werent livin round dinosaurs

    n werent hairy ape ppl

a snake gave eve the apple not some dinosaur shit

  • how truely ignorant.

    so evolusion isn't real.

    dinos aren't real.

but mass inbreeding without mutations, a massive world covering flood, and talking snakes are?

why can't evoilutuion and god coexist?

  • god doe not exist, you are a fool

  • @turbolaserman

First off, your spelling is rather pathetic. Second off who are you talking to?

  • Evolution is like building a sandcastle one grain of sand at a time. It takes a VERY VERY VERY long time for something to evolve. Remember this show takes place 2 and 200 MILLION years from now, sure the animals will probably not be just like this, but they won't be the same as now. Evolution does not prove there is not a God. Maybe God wanted us to evolve, things would be pretty boring if they were the same for eternity.

  • I wish someone would upload it here. I've been wanting to see it for a long time. That and that planet darwin 4 documentary.

  • Yeah me too I love both. Future Is Wild and Alien Planet rules!!!

  • @Silverknux91 it's called alien planet

just type in part 1/10 or something and you can see it

  • i like having violent orgasms and if you thumbs down me, you are simply lying

  • really? me too.

  • I had a very, very, violent orgasm when I saw those octopu- hey, wait a minute you horny hammerheads, pun not intended!

Wow, thats the stupidest thing ive ever posted...

  • i watched this on tv and the entire seeson

  • my theory is that sometime in the future some sort of natural, biological or weapons based disaster hits the planet and mankind has to flee the planet. we are still living in the solar system or on a colony ship bound for some distant planet or we are living on a distant planet but are capable of observing Earth but dont have the resorces to go back! Oh no we are not extinct by anymeans.

  • I think that the main reason why humans would die out is because we as a species have become too dependent on technology. Sure, humans have overcome many great challenges, flight and space as examples, but is it not also technology that has unleashed the diseases and weapons of mass destuction? Where as all other animals adapted physically to survive, like wings to fly, humans adapted mentally, creating the automobile. I say that technology won't progress fast enough for us to exist.

  • u already said that

u only need to say it once!

  • Sorry, I didn't know that it posted twice. Strange, last I checked ther was only one post. Hmm, must be a bug.

  • Technology hasn't unleashed disease, it helped us overcome it (leprosy, chicken pox, etc, you're watching too many zombie movies). Human also adapted physically, eg) we're fast in land, medium strength, and very agile with our extremities (we have thumbs), automobiles didn't come until 150 years ago, thats lets see.. .003% of Homo Sapiens known existence. Technology won't progress fast enough? what do you mean? its not like we're gonna disappear, there is ups and downs but the future is bright.

  • Perhaps. With how unpredictable the human race is,it probably is possible that we will survive. I may have been wrong in my assumption that technology has 'unleashed' deadly diseases, however, sure we do have some speed on land, but I wouldn't say that we are fast. The fastest human did what, 15mph? There are many animals on land that are much, much faster, going up to 70mph. Now then how did we learn how to use our extremities? by the creative ideas that can from our minds.

  • Our bodies are not properly equipped to 'run' as fast as the mind does. Think about it. Usually, about 6-7% of the mind is used for thinking, and the highest know percentage was Einstein I beleive with 10%. And that is an extremely rare accurance. Now, on a different tangent, how in the world did you conceive the fact that I watch too many zombie movies from my first post?

  • At one time we we're not smarted than animals, its called survival of the fittest, thats how we learned to use our extremities. Yes, we are fast on land, you're taking the extreme as example, think of all land animals, take an average we're doing good. 6-7% of mind??? where do you get this from? This is a myth, You use all of your brain, Einsteins IQ was not the highest ever recorded, Marilyn vos Savant is, "Imagination is more important than knowledge" thats why he is considered the smartest.

  • I do agree with your reasoning on how we leared how to use the extremities, yet you haven't read the whole post correctly. I said that 6-7% of the mind is USED FOR THINKING!!!! I didn't say that we only used only that percentage. And I know that we actually used all 100% of our minds, however, only less than 1/10 is used for thinking. You STILL haven't answered my question on how you brought in zombies, and IQ, which wasn't in the last post. So, could you explain your reasoning for your posts.

  • You're funny man. You can bring anything you want to a debate, specially when we're trying to prove how wrong you are. We will only disappear from this planet if a major catastrophe occurs or if God wants to.

  • Look, alright. All that I ask is for you to explain your reasoning. Is it really that hard? Out of my respect for my fellow human being, I ask you not to include anything that revolves around 'God' and the like. Because it has nothing to do with the arguments we are having.

  • Just admit to it, you made a stupid comment and i dizzed you for it. Thats my reasoning. The resident evil thing was so you would see how dumb your comment was, technology unleashing decease? wtf, technology not keeping up... with what? human kind going to and end? where did you get this from? TV??? there you go, thats my reasoning. Before posting think twice man, cause someone will read and will see how ignorant you are, and he will make fun of you in an attempt to smart you up.

  • Oh well, you've got your opinion and I have mine. No point in arguing really. So I make a stupid comment, sue me. Everyone makes mistakes. I could care less as to what you got to say about it.

  • preety long argument/debate.

  • then where did we get sentience???

  • I don't know man. I believe in God.

Go to wikipedia and type "Sentience".

The human brain is very powerful, and due to its nature and the lack of technology its very hard to study and even more to understand.

No one really knows, there is still a lot of things we don't understand, this is one of them.

Maybe I'll have the answer in a few decades. For now, I just don't know the answer to this.

  • Well, if the so called facts turn out to be true, the sun will swallow earth as it goes boom anyways. And btw, I'm an atheist. ;P

  • I only saw a couple of episodes of this, but i thot it was really gud.

  • i watched this last night. Very interesting

  • If they would exist they would be hunted down by humans,

  • how do explain how plants and animals change to suit their environment then?

  • HELLO! Man created the idea of a god. The earth is billions of years old, we haven't been around for even 1/1000 of that. Chill.

  • Well then. We'll just see who is where in 80 years.

  • Well then. We'll see.

  • We'll all be in the ground.

  • Thank you! at least there are SOME smart people in this world!

  • have you confused smart with blindly following?

  • yeh and use your imaginination. it could be another species that kills of humans like the future predator from primeval.

although it would be hard to evolve with us around.

but lets say the next ice age, we would survive by moving south, but there could be animals evolve still in the north into some kind of predator that we would face once the ice age finished

  • how do you figure that? Evolution actually means that humans ARENT born with scales. Also, its no longer up for debate, hasnt been for a very long time.

Of course, you could be talking about mutations, which do happen. Scaly skin and axtra limbs are real mutations that have occured, as well as less limbs, by the way.

  • Have you ever heard of something called "erosion"? Apparently not...

  • yes but does erosion happen on planets without wind or flowing water? and don't bring the big bang theory into this.

  • The Earth has an atmosphere that is pretty good of burning up foreign objects on the way in. Places like the moon and mars don't have much of an atmosphere, thus the craters.

  • are u pro-evolution or not? that wasn't a complete statement

  • You seriously need to stop utilizing fake christian science for your arguments. All these things you ask can be handily explained using modern science and evolutionary models. And please don't cite the bible as if its fact, for it diminishes your credibility in a logical and reasoned argument.

  • look, I'm not gonna agrue with you anymore. Cause I don't have to proove ANYTHING to YOU. All I know is that I'm going to Heaven for what I believe in. I hope you do some day. Hey, I was taught to love everyone, so I'm sorry you don't believe in Christ. But I do hope you except Him someday.†††

  • Actually, if you wanna argue with adults you do have to provide evidence for your statements. If you wanna revert to faith, or belief without evidence, you just shot yourself in the foot. It's impossible to know anything via faith (taking a trip to Heaven). Please think twice before posting faith motivated comments in a world dominated by the need for tangible evidence.

  • Well I'm very sorry to hear that, sir. And you know what? I don't believe I shot myself in the foot. I know what I believe in and there's nothing anyone can say that will convince me otherwise. I may be jumping out on a limb, believing in Christ, but at least I have an idea of what will happen to me when I die.

    Do you?

that's not an argument starter, but just think about it

  • That's where we differ. I value skepticism; you value unwaivering beleif. I'm fine without knowing exactly what happens to me when I die (probably nothing); you're probably scared to contemplate a world without any god. Truth is only achieved by those willing to be convinced they are wrong (scientists). So I think we agree to disagree and the discussion ends here.

  • *sigh* ok'(i wish I could say, "See you in Heaven"...but...)

  • Now THAT was uncalled for!

  • in biblic times people were lucky to live over 30 years.

    Thatsafacts.

  • Not that they couldn't live longer. Pre-modern people were what we'd consider, surprisingly healthy from their diet. (No refined sugars, no artificial preservatives, no hormone additives...)

What limited their lifespan was, every once in a while, some jackass would pick up the jawbone of a... jackass... and beat you to death with it for no reason!

  • One reason. The other one was that diseases took many people down before reaching 30 years.

Otherwise we didnt change much (if at all) biologically.

  • "In Biblical times, people lived to be well over a hundred" There is absolutely no evidence supporting this.

  • Um, duh, I was talking about on Earth, as were you, and good point Chatt.

  • but the rocks on the earth's stratas are only a few thousand years old as far as they go, and judging the size of the earth, that's as far as they can go before they reach the melted nickle and copper core

  • Um...'lithosphere', you mean?

  • The Lithosphere is the crust/mantle of the earth

  • What? NO! Erosion doesn't happen without wind or water. If you mean without water and breathable air IE mars, yes, but at a much slower rate. Also, no oceans to cover the impact sites. Don;t see how big Bang could be brought into this...

  • So you think that being 14 means that you are smart. Everyone was 14 once, you know. By the way, I will believe that you have tons of knowlege on this stuff if you learn how to spell this word.

  • knowledge

  • I never said I was smarter than everyone. and who cares if u misspell on the computer! People say l8r instead of later and kewl instead of cool. Do you think most people will care if I don't have a dictionary right at my computer desk?

  • Better yet, a 14 year old.

  • Umm there aren't any craters on earth because of the atmosphere which burns meteors into ashes before it hits the ground ask your dad and his college answers about that. The tons of knowlege that you have is false i know this and i'm 12.

  • dude.. seriously.. you are retarded.

    seriously retarded.

astroids come through the athmosphere of earth every 16 minutes.. don't tell me there isnt a crater.. the gulf of mexico is probably the biggest proof of craters on earth.. you probably live in a fucking crater.. this earth is 5 billion years old, and astroids always used to come in 16 minute rate.. so please idiot.. ask your dad to give you some money for some education, before you insult people like that..

    fucking faggot ass bitch kunt

  • what?

  • Alright...as per erosion, many craters are 'erased' from the crust. Subduction causes the crust to be remade/destroyed. Why should I believe you, a 24 year old youtube user, and your dad instead of experts in such fields

  • That makes ABSOLUTELY no snese, crazy creationist

  • I dont think we'd leave earth although we would need to move to other planets because of the population. Animals would still evolve though and new species would be made

  • My favourite animals are sharkopath, deathgleaner, rattleback, slicksucker.

  • Can someone please upload the full series or show us a link to the show?
