oh and 1 more question....the plan I have is unlimited data/internet BUT its a grandfathered plan which means its no longer offered. its cheaper to keep that plan then to upgrade to a smart phone and get 'unlimited data/internet' for $15 more a month....would it work?

Ok to all the people who are asking what the point of this is, I'll tell you. Your phone can use Verizon's wireless network to access the Internet at decent speeds. You can also connect the phone to the computer to use the phones connection on the computer. But normally Verizon charges an extra fee to do this (I think it's like $20 a month). SO that's where this comes in. You can use this to get past the tethering fee ($20/mo.). But you still need a unlimited data plan (about $30/mo.).

lol dont do this follow the video straight through because in the menu i clicked on something wrong and i couldnt call for moe then 10 seconds and i kept on reciving the same message over and over do follow this correctly

is there a way to send high def video to youtube account, my files are large and it all always says " exceeded maximum file size"..recording at a low video mode always looks crappy..anyway to bypass, that block from verizon?

unfortunately, this upload limit is up to youtube. you have to contact the youtube help service in order to solve your issue.

Do I have to have VCast? & do I need an unlimited talk plan?

I will be getting this phone soon but I only want minimum talk, No Vcast & Unlimited Data. Will I be able to connect my laptop with out HUGE overage fees on my talk minutes?

From experience, nothing has happened while using 10GB for one month. I was visiting a friend in Lindsay, CA and was downloading at 250KB per second. Not too shabby.

no. this is using the 1.99 per mb plan. to get around the 1.99 per mb charge, get an unlimited data plan for the phone.

this hack will help you use the cell phone's internet connection with the laptop. so it's virtually having a reliable internet connection everywhere you go with the laptop instead of just having the internet on the phone.

No. Downloading songs should be fine bandwidth wise. However, if you're doing it illegally, you should probably refrain from "sharing" any files so you don't get caught for any type of illegal activity.

it does use your minutes, i looked at my accunt and i have used more minutes than normal

If you check the detailed bill, where the numbers you made and received are, that will explain where your minutes are used. However, the env touch isn't compatible to the old American Choice plans. Double check where your minutes are going.

No. You have to pay for data no matter what. This just gets the phone's data to the laptop for free.

I believe Verizon Wireless calls this the Mobile Broadband Connect. They charge extra for this feature.

you will get charged if you don't have an unlimited data plan for your phone.

you would need a:

Nationwide Connect Plan or

Nationwide Premium Plan or

A VCast VPack Add-On.

If you do not have those plans, you will get charged $1.99 per MB.

you should update your PRL list. The EVDO signal is quite reliable.
