sorry about that, my computer was acting weird and i didnt notice that i posted the same question 3 times. I already install mac os x10.6.0 on a dell XPS 400 the only problem that it does not boot after i install chameleon. i have to boot it with a cd. other than that is working fine, I just need to find the wireless kext.

when i get to the setup after booting from an external hard drive, i cant see my laptops hard drive. im running windows 7 with my hard drive split into 2 partitions (140gb NTFS and 20gb FAT32) do i need to format my hard drive and get rid of windows completely? or make it a single partition?

@LifeonRice1 you need to resize one of you're partitions, leave it unformatted and also make it primary / active... and then i think you know what to do next :)

@LifeonRice1 well you need to resize one of your partition. use a partition manger with whom you are familiar with. the new space that you gonna leave for the os x installation should be unformatted. it should be a primary partition and also it should be marked as active.

Good Video, but I'm a little confused about my hard drives. I have two drive, one with windows and the other with 250GB of data and 100GB of free space. What I don't understand is how I pick which disk I will be using and what part of it. Any response would be greatly appreciated. I have already looked on x86 wiki my Samsung R580 has successfully ran Snow Leopard a few times, so I'm really excited to do this I just need a little more info.

How about Linux instead?

If you're on to multimedia, try checking Ubuntu Ultimate Edition or ArtistX.

You can also activate Compiz Fusion and Emerald which is in the package.

OSX like style, check out Cairo Dock with skinnable dock and tiles as well just like the Mac.

Nothing can beat a free system which can be improved whenever you need it, it's legal with Linux, but Windows and OSX isn't anything near that.

How about trying it?

I own an xps m1330( 2.2 ghz c2d; intel wifi; 3g ram; 250gb hdd) and want a dual boot with win7. I tried iAtkos v7; iAtkos 5i; iPC 10.5.6, Deneb . Non of them worked. Some of them wont run through the installation, or manages to finish it but freezes during the first boot. It never got to the OSX welcome page. I tried to turn AHCI to SATA mode, tried all the kernels(vanilla too).

There are some differences between the video and what is downloaded. There is no Chameleon_V1012.pkg in the SL Files.zip file. Only has the Chameleon 2 RC3 installer. So I used that for the installation directed the install to go to my Snow Leopard partition, no errors. The video shows an Snow Alternative folder never shows up with the Chameleon used. During Boot the Apple shows and then splash of need to shutdown computer by holding power button down for 5 seconds.

Since you had us do the install through mac, I had to do it on my laptop onto a flash drive, and pull that over to my PC and boot it up...it works, but again, isn't recognizing any of my internal hard drives. There are numerous tutorials on the net, and many dedicated forums if you need help, do a bit of research, at the end of the day if you want an easy way to run OSX go to your nearest apple store and buy a mac, if not do a little research and learn what you're trying to do, the poster has kindly uploaded all the files needed, if you don't understand what they mean then go and look then up and it'll make things a LOT easier for yourself.

You need to start with the basics and make sure your motherboard is compatible, just google your model number and tutorial and the chances are if it is compatible soeone on either the insanelymac or OSx86 forums will have posted a specific tutorial for that mobo

I have Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 Intel AMD made by Hazard. I burnt it out, I tried to install in onto a USB HDD (sata HDD in usb enclosure). I'm just don't know which kernel, drivers, etc. I need?

1st time I tried to install it, it didn't run. Chameleon boot menu or what started, Mac didn't. Reinstall, with other kernel--> at boot: error, kernel panic I think.
