  • Nice job. Thanks for taking the time to show it..........

  • "Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!"

Very informative video, thank you for taking the time to differentiate between the different levels of preparedness needed for wilderness activities. Has made me re-organise my own gear into a (I think) better managed system.

One more sub to your channel to check out what other pearls of wisdom are on offer!

  • It takes a real man to admit he has a purse...lol

    Great video!!

  • Sugar gives you empty Calories. Unless you need it for "low-sugar disease" Sorry i'm just saying.

  • @Tmdkiller you're not going to be worried about your figure when you're in a survival situation, or any time you need quick energy for that matter (long distance runners/bikers carry gels that are essentially cake frosting.) i prefer ones made from fruit just because they taste better, but they're still nothing but simple sugars and carbohydrates..

  • How much your neck knife?

  • Good pack..thanks for the info.

  • Well said & well done. Very thorough!!

  • Great vid, thank you. This helped me out a lot with understanding what these different things are. I have managed to make a comprehensive enough survival kit in the tobacco tin form, so I don't really need the pouch one as well. Then my possibles is about the same size as yours. I also have a BK14 with PSK that I always have on me aswell as my survival kit and a few other items.

Excellent vid, thank you so much - you obviously have a LOT of wisdom and knowledge to share, subbed to your channel.

  • Mac, great concept, I use a fanny pack as my possibles bag since these are the items you will use most often. This way you will have easy access without taking off your whole pack. My survival kit bag has a belt loop on the back so if I want to do a short hike away from camp, I just attach the survival kit to the belt of the fanny pack and I have my possibles bag and survival kit with me. The canteen rig can attach to the belt as well.

  • I like how you pointed out the distinction between the different kits, Well done.

  • Alright...Im glad Im not the only guy who likes to take a few packs of coffee with me! The Starbucks pouches are the perfect size. Nice kit.

  • You might find the small tupperware container with the seal and blue clips in not waterproof. We have two, "Sista" brand, and found when used for transporting baby food, they leak if not carried flat. Still useful containers for the fridge, but if it's important, I'd check whether your container really is waterproof.

I like your youtube stuff, and really liked your comparision of the possibles pouch to a purse. Unlike a survival kit, which says wrapped until needed, the purse is everyday items

  • Parabéns pelos videos, estou sempre acompanhando vc e o Giu...SAPS

  • Add a pair of boot laces to the possibles kit, Great vid

  • @ReadinessLinks That's a good idea, but I usually don't lack for paracord in other locations.

  • Very good! Your videos are excellent. Even better if it were subtitled in Portuguese. Have you thought about making movies in 3D?!

  • Nice kits and good information Mac, thanks!

  • @KABARBOWIE1 LOL you said it right man, although I like some of nut´s videos too! He sure likes talking!! Lol But Mac is a much more knowledgeble man, thats for sure!!!

  • Is that a tarp hat your wearing

  • @paleo52 Yes, they are very popular down here. I've been using this hat for years.

  • I live in the states. Could I possibly buy a couple of those gasoline bags from you?

  • @bowhunterpetemac I use these because they are cheap, available, and they work well. I'm looking for a supplier to sell them to me in bulk. If I make a bulk purchase I plan to make them available in the US. I need to find a source of bags with no printing on them as I don't want the liability issues involved with the suggestion they are OK to fill with gasoline.

  • i am definitely taking some ideas fom this. just a question: why not take a heavy duty trashbag instead of the painters drop cloth? they take up the same amount of space and the trashbag is more resistent

  • You mentioned food. All I remember hearing was salt, sugar, and bullion cubes. Do you carry anything else in your "possibles" or "survival" pouches as far as food goes?

  • @thenrylee I carry several rapadura in 25 gram blocks, it is a raw sugar, pure energy and very compact. I have been very impressed with how much energy they give, especially when you are really hungry.

  • good video

  • great video full of awesome information! sharing this on Facebook so more people can get this good info!

  • good video ,

i have most of that or coparable in mine, but i definately want to make osme improvements,

i want to get a good neck knife kit on the go too,

  • Great Video

  • Nicely done. Well thought out. Thanks!

  • i lkie that man purse i wouldn,t leave home with out mine.

  • Nice review,

Here's the truth however, when are you going to show some more machete work ?

  • @Rprecision When I get over the tendinitis in my right elbow. I'm missing my blades.

  • @Rprecision Heal up my friend, I always enjoy seeing you and you compadre attack the jungle. I just started rewatching your 6 day trip.

  • love the pouch for your survival kit and the kit is cool to. you are right gasoline in a bag is crazy...

  • Thanks for sharing. I love going through survival kit's to see if their are any good ideas on things I didn't think of.

  • Magnificent scenery. Great selection of kit. That click lock container, looks like, Systema brand.. if so, beware, they are often not as air tight as they appear, particularly the larger containers.

  • All good items and well thought out, thanks for sharing. Take Care :-))

  • Good description. Favorite for reference. I am new at all this. I understand the aqua plus, and 5L bags concept, but just curious that you don't have a metal cup in survival kit; for boiling water? Also seems like Picardin is replacing deet up here; not sure of pro's/cons.

  • @ez2curanut Basically I'm never out there without a canteen and cup. In a tropical environment it is very hard to keep up with hydration by boiling water so I always make sure I have a chemical means to treat water.

  • Excellent information sir! God bless you as you continue to serve Him!

  • Good vid Pastor. You can watch lots of good vids on the same thing, but you actually might really have to depend on yours. Gives just a tad more credibility,

  • Very Nice! I'm one of the folks that have been confused at times as to the difference's of these two terms. Seems often times the two concepts seem to merge. I really liked your personal definitions of the possibles pouch and the survival kit and feel that it suites my needs well as a better organization tool. Thanks again : ) Sara

  • @saradreaming Sara, if you find yourself ever tearing into a survival kit to get stuff to use on a regular basis you should reorganize. Emergency supplies are for emergencies not daily living. Likewise if your survival kit contains all sorts of stuff not directly related to actually "staying alive" it should be rethought.

  • Good kit and vid.

  • A lot of mini survival kits, (kits you take with you when you do not think you will need it, but you take with you anyway) I see on YouTube seem to rely on the fact that there is well, garbage in the northern forests that can provide material (containers, metal sheet, plastic, old fence wire, etc.) for use in survival. When you and your friend are out in the bush do you see discarded items that can be used for this, or is it a more pristine area without much modern "material" there?

  • @monkeyboy4746 Slumming or hobo survival skills are important but I take those things as targets of opportunity and they don't constitute a part of my planning.

  • great vid. & explination of the 2 kits

  • Thanks for sharing, you've given me some great idea's for my own kit.

  • Great explanation of the differences. Thank you for posting this!

  • Great Video. Thanks

  • Glad too see someone do this type of video, you explained it very well.

  • Mac, my friend, that was a great help!!! Thank you for sharing that info.

The landscape there is gorgeous. God bless. Have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. John from Upstate NY

  • I really enjoyed this vid. thanks for sharing

  • Great explanation Mac. Thanks for your demo. Your idea of being in the bush seems so much more simplified than others that are out there .

  • awesome video,

i love the kit, you've pretty much covered it all in the 3 of your kits.

  • Great vid Mac..Im going on the hunt for some of the little things you mentioned today...Its kinda raining today and dont have anything to do..Hows G ..did he get his camera yet? say hi..

  • thanks for the video

it made me think about the redundancies of my possibles and how i should put an extra kit in the trunk

    -boyce

  • Excellent Brother, Just Excellent info and very well explained. Thanks for sharing with us.........Tom
