  • my brother was learning this song, and playing it on his guitar,he past away a mounth later,it was song at his funeral, love it but reminds me to much of my brothers passing

  • Let's keep things in the right perspective. I saw no one there looking like Britney Spears.

  • wow, did not know this was for his brother... wow this will move you and bring tears...

  • I do not understand why one gets hung up on the way they look? The father looks inward to the heart, the soul!

  • The meaningful words of the song are the only thing that sould be looked at. Judging is no way to be. Judging others has broken my family up over the years and a broken family get together is no fun. thats why this song means so much to me because if my family was all still here things could be different and the family wouldnt be so hateful to each other. Thank God for the song writers and singers who put out these beautiful songs.

  • With losing my brother mother in law nag grandmother in a 3 month period this song brought me to tears. I know I will see them again

  • Seeing Vince's humility about the great gift that this song is to others in their time of need and grief is also a blessing....I don't think he realized that in writing this tribute to his brother that millions would be blessed as well......I am sorry for his loss, but in that moment, he has given comfort to so many others...and THAT adds to the "legacy" left behind by his dear brother!!!

  • Every time I come to the comments about this song, I am wonderfully touched by the statements of how the song comforts people who have experienced a grievous loss of a loved one! God took Vince's brother home to be with Him, and He has given comfort to many in the words He gave to Vince for the lyrics of this song!!

  • I lost a friend yesterday and I am sure he is with Jesus today. So this one's for you C.D. Go Rest Now.

  • @EdArmstrong1 so sorry to hear of your loss -- you can take comfort in the sure knowledge that he IS with the Lord -- and what a blessed hope and assurance that is....may the Lord give you peace!!

  • Love it amen

  • So comforting in our time of loss.

  • surprised ppl are focusing on what the women are wearing rather than the beauty of this song. shaking my head shows where your focus is when you're in church, judging people all the time with your self-righteousness. I've been in churches with ppl like you and it was heartbreaking the time they took to make up lies and think of disgusting things before God. Maybe just maybe this is how they WANT to dress and be. It's not about you.

  • This was my uncles favorite song b4 he passed away an everytime i hear this song i start crying. But he was a wonderful singer. I love this song i have for along time an as long as im alive i always will love it. But yall do a great job.

  • I saw Bill almost break up one time over this song...I think it came out around the time his brother died. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

The lyrics and the music are so heart wrenching... I cry every time I hear it!

My mother loved it so much and she died just after this song came out and that touches me even more.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  • This song moves me to tears everytime I hear it. My son and two grandsons were killed in a horrific auto accident on March 7, 3009. My grief is so great that I can find no words to express it. This song is my way of grieving as well as my way of being soothed by the Father and the Son. Come Lord Jesus.

  • Very touching, very heart felt, Very Blessed that this was done... amen and Amen...

  • Hoover, you are GRRR-EAT!!!!

  • This song is a classic and should always be on radio stations..I love this song and its Lyrics

  • I love this song because it was sung at grandpas funeral a couple of years ago , He passed away of cancer I miss him sooo much!! & this song just brings back soo many memories happy & sad of his life.He was a strong christian man & loved the lord with all his heart!!! We still love & miss you Granpa Derwood!!

  • i wanna marry sonya isaacs, been in love with her since i was 11 yrs old

  • this song sure helped me out alot when my ma passed away.. the day she left me was when i thought that my world amasged into pieces.. this song made me understand that we lose a loved one. and that it was time to start the healing process. the hardest thing for me to do was let my mom go.. i know she is in god hands and i know that she is forever watching over her whole family.

  • This video just has SO MANY beautiful song of praise on it!!!

This one is hauntingly beautiful, and I can't resist coming to this over and oer agian!

  • thank you for uploading this song, a truly touching and amazing song. relates so much to me as my uncle died dec last year before x-mas, i miss him a lot and the words of this song truly reminds and reassures me that though death creates pain and sets tears into our eyes, but there is heaven that we could look forward to where there'll be no more tears and pain. God bless.

  • 2 votes that don't like this song?

How could ANYONE not like this?!!!

  • Is that Jimmy Fortune in the choir? Sure looks like him.

  • Fantastic!

  • I was privileged to be asked to sing this song in honor of a family member of one of my listeners. To sing this is one thing, but to really sing it well, you have to envision someone's face on the other side of the grave. Vince does that so well.

  • This is a WONDERFUL song of tribute to his brother, and you folks who are "hammering" hoover 4000 for what the Isaacs are wearing have COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT!!!

THere is nothing wrong with what they have on!!!

  • Thanks to Vince Gill for this song....My son ^Greg^ would have turned 41 today. He lost his war with leukemia at age 19. "Wish I could see the Angels' faces when they hear your sweet voice sing...."

  • i love this song!!! please can somebody send it to me?? i can´t buy it cuz im from chile and i cant download it either so if someone has the song on mp3 can u send it please??

    God bless

  • i love this song i sing alot of songs but this one loses me because of the presence and how powerful it is and it makes me think of life and how important our family and friends are to us thank you vince and thanks god for co writing this one aswell

  • Bill Gather has sure spread a lot of wonderful music to the world! Bravo Vince! Great job!

  • Wonderful song! Nice playing on the mandolin

  • I think of my Dad whenever I hear this song. He was more than a father to me.....he was my buddy. I love you, Dad and miss you terribly, but I know for certain that one day we'll be together again.

  • Makes me cry every time.. Miss my Mother

and want to see my Lord and Saviour Jesus.

  • I love this video every time i hear this song it makes my cry it has been played at all my family member funerals that i love

  • Now this video was Awesome....! Ya brought a tear to my eyes.

Christmas is just around the corner so I'll close with....Have Nice Christmas all of ya's.....! Ya hear...???

  • There must be great partiality in IMBA in that Sonya Issacs & Rhonda Vincent both are better vocalist than Dale ann Bradley. Sonya you should have won this event. David

  • they are honoring Jesus when they sing so their real reward is repented souls for Him

  • The Julie331, perfect comment. My first and last post. You nailed the key to life, in your own words, Don't judge until you've walked a hundred miule in those shoes, or something like that. I'm just a heathen who has been good to people. Wherever I go, i go. Bless you for your perfect writing...and i write for a living...be well...

  • Don't care what anyone says, that's good stuff......

  • That was a great video...Vince is a great guy and an awesome singer

  • Beautiful message and vocals.

  • At 5:30, you can see that mandolin pretty close up. Does that have only four strings, instead of eight, or is it just me?

  • The mandolin has more strings on it . you can't see them on the video. I counted at least six. you can see on the later frames that he is playing the other strings

  • Every string instrument comes in different stiles sizes, with different numbers of strings :o)

    Peace

  • If you look at the mandolin at 2:50, you get a clearer look at it and can see that it has eight strings. You just can't see the silver strings as well, they're blurry.

  • Should you like this song you may want to give Ralph Stanley's: "Calling My Children Home" from the album: "Man of Constant Sorrow".

  • Vince Gill is one of the nicest people I have ever met! Very great song!

  • That was beautiful

  • ☻/ Praise the Lord throughout the land.

/▌ He Is Worthy of All Praise!

/ \ There is Life "Beyond The Crimson Cross" And Jesus The Christ is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.

  • Best Song EVER!

  • Rest in Peace Erica Lynn...Go Rest High on That Mountain...Thanks Vince Gill...For

    Such a Great Song

  • Larry I remember you buddy. This song will always be a marker and memorial for you.

  • This is for U--(Used2bBlue) Maybe God opens doors so they can help others in this mean old world. The judgement is why were in the shape we are in. I am sure you are perfect. LET THE ONE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE! PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE ME SICK AND YOU ALSO RUN PEOPLE SEEKING THE LORD OFF!!!! I am very good friends with the Isaacs and I know they live what they preach, DO YOU?

  • amen joey

  • Sonya looks better as a blonde.

  • he doesnt reference kieth as his brother. he wrote the first verse at keiths funeral and the second at his own brothers funeral. or visa versa. i cant remember.

  • blue i don't understand exactly what you are saying please explain. i am a christian , if gospel is used this way what is the problem

  • his brother he meant keith

  • I love this song, A friend of mine died while listening to this song with a smile on his face. Great Song! God Bless,

    Jim

  • used2bblue you are a shallow piece of crap. I've seen the Isaacs as well as Vince many times. Sonya, Ben, and Becky are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. If you can't get over pants you are a serious hypocritical problem.

  • Used2bBlue you are a piece of garbage. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the dress of the Isaacs. How shallow you are. I've seen Vince and the Isaacs many times. Sonya, Becky, and Ben are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I'm also familiar with Joe Isaacs and the part of KY he comes from as well as Lafolette. If you can't handle pants you have serious problems you sorry piece of garbage. Lord have mercy because of people like you.

  • Are you a Christian? It doesn't seem so because of the way you reply. A Christian is to respect each other, and answer with respect...even on YouTube, yes. Lord have mercy on people like you.

  • are you talking to me pomilost?

  • No, no, I am talking to probusb, about his rude, unChristian comments.

  • oh ok

  • used2bblue, you should probably explain yourself. By humble beginnings, how much more do you want them to wear? Or would you prefer if they were wearing absolutely nothing, like in the very beginning. An answer would be appreciated, sir.

  • Hoover, you have done it again!!!

  • Praise God!!!

  • Great song and great video..thank you I needed to hear this today.

  • Sounds great, but it breaks my heart to see the Isaacs looking like that. The music industry is a destroyer. It tears apart the innocence and the purety of many gospel performers. I think the fame really turns the heart of many of these performers toward the world. They'd have better off Spiritually if they would have clung to their humble, modest beginnings. Must we fashion ourselves after the world to be accepted? Do we strive to be accepted by the world or God? Lord, have mercy on us all.

  • what is wrong with the way they look? they are all covered, i dont see what the problem is

  • yeah i agree they are all covered up, and sonya is even wearing a skirt

They love to sing about the Lord

God bless you Isaacs keep up the good work

    Susan

  • I fully agree, they are not naked at all! You watch too much country and rap.

  • I think the reference is to Sonya Isaac's and her latest album being secular.

  • Thank you.

  • @hoover4000 yeah I just read that and I don't get where that's coming from either...oh well you just can't please everybody I reckon...

  • there wasn't one thing wrong with how they looked (from what i see in the video). you think they weren't being modest? i am in the music ministry...believe me...this is modesty. I'm around female singers who dress like this (and are even more modest) all the time. I know we're disagreeing and that's fine..but this is how i see it.

  • Is it your job to judge whether they are pure? You need to get down on your knees and ask for forgiveness for being so judgmental to these people and pray to God to open your heart to accept everyone no matter how they look. How would you like them to look? When you look in the mirror, what you do see?

  • ...read what Jesus said about removing planks from your own eye before worrying about a speck in someone else's. Some may believe that means that once you get YOURSELF spotless then you CAN freely criticise others. I BELIEVE JESUS' point was that removing the plank from your OWN eye would keep you SO BUSY ...ALL your life long..that you would NEVER AGAIN feel the need to assume the role of the Holy Spirit and convict someone ELSE. I believe Jesus was saying...DON'T..as in EVER.I am also guilty

  • @Used2bBlue

Amen to that! My husband and i feel the same way about this sad "modern look". True beauty is not hollywood, rather modesty and humility in dress and demeanor. A woman should adorn herself with the natural beauty God gave her, and adorn her heart with virtue, not vain fashions.

  • @Used2bBlue Why is it that some Christians think everyone has to go around looking sad or "like that", as you put it? Jesus never told anyone that they had to wear burkahs or rags all the time....He left that to the people who have NO HOPE!!

  • JESUS is LORD

  • I got this CD. I LOVE IT!

  • This song is so profound to me. My husband died when he was 35 from a brain tumor and this song and God speak to me of that time. It is comforting and I love this song so much.

What a healing time for me.

    Thank you!!

  • i love this

  • Go rest high on that mountain

Son, you work on earth is done

    Go to heaven a shoutin'

Love for the Father and Son

  • Hauntingly Beautiful! Very Spiritually Annointed! Especially at the end when they poured an annointing on Vince... or as he called it an Intervention. It was powerful though!!

  • Hauntingly Beautiful.. Spiritualy Beautiful..

What a sweet spirit Vince has grown into. What a Blessing.
