Glad that Rusty Shayne is back. I love him and he often came back for the BBQ. Phillip & A-M always had issues. I wish they had settled them more. Note that Ed is wearing the HAT. Good Lord Phillip needs a haircut. I think that is same grill Rick uses. Love when Josh yanks Reva's earring by accident. The guy with the ridiculous hat is Johnny Bauer, a cousin is currently dating the brunette Roxie Shayne. "He's not even old yet." Alan already had heart issues.
You know what's really eerie is that Alan Michael Spaulding would have a major impact on alot of the people in town. Think about it, he married Harley & Blake at different times as did Phillip. Also Ross would later marry Blake and A-M would briefly date Dinah who is also Vanessa's Daughter.
Love the Bauer BBQ. Love the hat. Our family even hosted our own Bauer BBQ one year. Se my blog post with photos of it. Oh, Reva just found out the danger of those HUGE 80s earrings. Is that how Lewis Construction got started? I don't remember. Glad they mentioned Hope. "Ed said he was going to be just fine." Famous last words. I think that's Chelsea Reardon there with Phillip. The youngest Reardon daughter & songbird thought she had a chance at putting Beth's memory to rest. As if.
I know it's kind of cheesy, but I would have loved to attend a BBQ like this. It really brought Family & Friends together. Don't you notice that Alan always sulks about not going but he always shows up.
@laminage You are 100 percent right about Alan. The Bauer BBQ wasn't very good for a couple of years, but the 2009 one was the best in years and Alan did sulk about going and went anyway.
i think since the early 1980's...maybe even before then but it didn't become somewhat of an annual tradition until the 1980's. i've never seen any clips from the 1970's showing Martin Hulswit grilling burgers or anything...so it probably began in the 1980's...there's several pictures floating around of Peter Simon in the barbecue clothes: apron and chef's hat.
Who is the girl who said, "Damn hot"?

I love this Alan Michael too. Loved it when he'd be having a crisis, had kinda dangerous vibe about him.
