  • Ah owning up to "Actually quite liking Invisible War" is like putting your head on a chopping block and drawing a dotted across your neck.

Oh shit, I did it again!

  • It's great to play all three parts of Deus Ex in historical chronology DE:HR, DE, DE:IW. You will put yourself in amazing experience of the story. My opinion that IW has most twisted storyline, but not so good at gameplay. anyhow as fan of DE, it's huge pleasure to play all and always )

  • @ndmda7 I thought it was an OK game in and of itself, but "OK" just doesn't cut it for Deux Ex.

  • "I never asked for this"

  • Deus Ex 1 has excellent soundtrack...after all these years, still....

but tell me, does IW also own good music ?

  • @sranug In my opinion, absolutely. But it's a different style than Deus Ex 1. There's still some electronic melodies present in the music but it contains a lot more ambience with strings and such.

  • I actually clicked this video by accident; I never asked for this.

  • I never asked for this...

  • This song was awesome!

  • If only it was that easy to hack in human revolution

  • i played this game and i thoroughly enjoyed it

  • @ahmed4hunt i think deus ex is a pretty cool guy, he fights conspiracies and doesnt afraid of gunther hermann

  • This game was really good, sure it wasn't as good as Deus ex 1, but don't bash it because it is better then most games.

  • @ahmed4hunt Mainly that it dumbed down all the aspects that made the first one so enjoyable. I could write you a thesis on why but it would take too long so play the first one then play the second one and you will see how bad IW is. Who knows maybe you will like it if so thats awesome but to many Deus Ex fans it was not a worthy sequal to a great game.

  • Wtf

  • @ahmed4hunt the game it's self is not that bad it just doesn't take after the first game as much.

  • wtf stop trashing the game guys ,this is a discussion board about the game not a f***ing trash board jesus deus ex iw came out 8 years ago dues ex hr fresh off the line course its gonna be better

  • bad shit

  • Awesome! Now I know they put in trailer everything I hated about this game. Fucking xbox.

  • i played it and its a little bıt bad like when u die its stupid but there are some good parts like hacking into doors kill/help people who u want

  • @ahmed4hunt

Play it and find out. Other peoples opinions arent relevant, you need to form your own.

  • i loved the first Deus Ex. I heard this one was a disgrace to the series but i still want to play it nevertheless. I have a feeling i should play IW before i play HR when it comes out.

  • @Jedimasta21

I'd say theres a good chance HR will up your expectations of IW, which IW will inadvertantly crush underheel. It's not that its a bad game, its just that it doesnt feel like a Deus Ex game.

  • @Jedimasta21 I just finished HR, and I feel IW is way better. It has more interesting maps, factions, a better storyline, and better endings. The only reason neckbeards hate on IW over the first one is because it feels more like a console-friendly title because of the menus and inventory (just like HR) are more streamlined for gamepads.

  • @Jedimasta21 I was quite impressed with the beginning of deus ex tiberium wars. But as soon as you leave the city-life place, it all turns into shit. But I bought a brand new PC just for this game, because when I saw the trailer (video shown when you first start playing the game), I was just extremely impressed. Awesome video, also loved the fact that you could pick up different types of foods, assasination was cool, and the lab loved it, but otherwise, kinda sucked...

  • @CognitiveNetwork Why would you buy a brand new PC just for Invisible War?

  • @Jedimasta21 lol, sorry about the deus ex tiberium wars, have been playing command and conquer recently. I ment invisible war ofcourse... :D

  • looks like i know where bioware got their ideas from now...

  • That's a boring game for me. 1st game was a lot better.

  • music?

  • Dues Ex 1 needs a remake. Cause I just started playing it now and would enjoy it more if it was at least within a 7 year range of age. This game must suck if everyone is hating on it. So should I not bother? Didn't beat 1 just played alot of it. I finished Hong Kong I remember.

  • @TheGamerRejects

Your missing out. The game gets so much better later on.

And unfortunately Ion Storm died a few years back, so I doubt there'll be a remake as a lot of people (myself included) hate our favourites being tampered to make them 'more modern'. All a remake ever needs is a graphical overhaul, not a gameplay update.

  • @Fatman311

There are alot of games out there remade that was actually better. Mostly a graphics update and a more realistic engine cause if the gameplay was as stiff as it was back then, it wouldn't be that great. But I might beat Dues Ex 1. I still have it on my computer. Zodiac. Just wish it wasn't so dated

  • @Fatman311 The PS2 port of the first game had a little bit of a graphical improvement if my memory serves me well. It was mostly better looking models and stuff, kinda like the Half-Life 1 port to PS2.

  • @TheGamerRejects:

Deus Ex in with both HDTP and New Vision installed = better than sex.

    :)

  • @TheGamerRejects There is something called New vision and HDTP mod which makes the game look really really nice.

  • @TheGamerRejects tbh I don't see what people are moaning about I thought this game was decent

  • Comment removed

  • This game is so boss! I remember playing it when i was a kid.

  • can anybody tell me why this one was bad? because in never played it

  • @hovsep56 its not bad but fanboys like the first one better because well it is better in some areas but that doesnt mean this one sucks.

  • i view playing invisible war much like i view going to see a cover band; sure they're not as good as the original, but as long as it is still good music i can enjoy myself

  • Ha! The only good thing about this trailer is Kidneythieves' Pleasant in the background.

  • Does Invisible War have multiplayer for PC?

  • IW shouldn't be called a sequel for Deus Ex or even Deus Ex 2. It's just a 1 1/2 /5 star game that has nothing to do with the best game ever. Don't get ur hopes up on HR either, altho it looks cool... It can be great though.

  • @ONNIHOLTTA

Have you even looked at Human Revolution? It looks like its building on the original and making everything that was great about it even better. Its a prequel, so I'm expecting an obvious story, but the gameplay looks great. We'll have to wait and see, but a good Deus Ex game doesnt mean Deus Ex in HD.

  • @Fatman311 yep I have.

I just think that graphics are often overrated for games.

  • Multitool = Screwdriver of the future

  • @AIMaaronawesome

    Pleasure by Kidneythieves

  • Sure it was disappointing, but I really don't understand all the hate on this game.

  • @theplock99

Because it didnt go beyond the original. People always expect a sequel to be better and greater than its original, although nowadays this isnt the case, sequels are normally just more of the same with new features added in.

That said, I've always relished the game by its own merits. It's a great game, just not a worthy successor to Deus Ex.

  • @Fatman311 I would have to agree. Sequels are never better. Such as Duke Nukem Forever, It totally sucks.

  • @theplock99

Not always, there are many examples of a sequel that has improved on the intial gameplay of a series, as well as expanding the story. Metal Gear Solid 2, Soul Calibur 2 and I'm sure theres others but I can't think of them right now. There are other examples that dont follow the same story, Unreal 2 and Fallout 3 for example.

But ultimately, I dont care. All I want is gameplay and story that hook me from beginning to end, and Deus Ex did that best.

  • @Fatman311 Well, when I said that I really didn't mean EVERY single sequel is bad. Just most.

  • @theplock99 That's a really terrible generalization to make, if you'd based your game purchases on that assumption you'd never have played Morrowind or Oblivion, Fallout 3, Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2 and many other great sequels, in fact there are logically and statistically going to be more sequels that are good than new franchises that are good due to the fact that they're building on a formula that works, have an experienced team and plenty of funds.

  • love the song

  • the multitool=enchanted screwdriver

  • ummmmm me thinks i'll GET ALL THREE WHEN HUMAN REVOLUTION COMES OUT :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • @Jebact

A great idea, if you're able to tolerate playing Human Revolution (the latest, with the snazziest graphics and best quality), then go back to the oldest (which is pretty archaic in all ways except story and atmosphere now) and then Invisible War (which may or may not make you cry if you've survived the previous transition)

Either way, sounds like a good idea!

  • @Fatman311 dude, i love old games!! i play marathon an halo 1 all the time! i also have halo reach but it's not hard to transition from either or. i have deus ex demo an it's not that horrid of graphics :P

  • @Fatman311 "which is pretty archaic in all ways except story and atmosphere now" - you forgot about the freedom of choosing the way you want to complete quests. In this aspect DEx even surpasses many (if not most) of modern RPGs.

  • I loved that game, and i miss it. I still have it on xbox.

  • whats the song ?

  • 0:48 =)) I didn't know the Deus Ex series co-starred the Doctor!

  • @ndmda7 what wrong with new version man??? what exactly is "dumbed" ???

  • @MaxRideWizardLord

A game that is dumbed down is made simple, to try and make it more compatible to a bigger audience. For example, Deus Ex 1 had different ammo types for different weapons, including special types (such an explosive and incendiary rockets for a rocket launcher), whereas Invisible War used a universal ammo system, you had one kind of ammo that every gun could use, so if you ran out of it, you couldnt fire any of your weapons. Regenerating health is another common example.

  • @ndmda7

Firstly, everyones entitled to their opinion. No flaming, no bitching, guys. Your comment was slightly incendiary dude, DX:IW is like marmite, you either love it or hate it.

As for me, I thought it was a great game, but not a worthy sequel to Deus Ex. The story was there, but I think Ion Storm were too ambitious in their goals and ultimately it wasnt as strong in most of its assets as DX1 was. The single ammo system was easily the worst part for me.

  • I felt that this game was decent, but just not as great as the first. Still thrilling, but it seemed the game ended pretty abruptly, and the nano-augmentations weren't as varied in option. I would say that the game was good for the free-roaming aspect however, there were probably way more secrets I could find in there than in the first.

  • 75 people didn't see the trooper's AI catch him on fire at 1:29

  • I'm so pissed that this game doesn't work on the 360...or at least my 360...this was by far one of my favorite games on the original Xbox.

  • @metroidprimefan18 It was mine was well.

  • ROFL this game was a joke. It was like the head of Ion Storm had some retarded nephew or something who couldn't understand the original so they made a special needs version. Everything that made the original good was either removed, dumbed down or fucked up. I got to Antarctica but by that point the overall shittiness was so much I reinstalled the original. The 11 year old graphics are looking dated and the muppet hands just funny but it still pisses all over this sorry excuse for a sequel.

  • @MerryGoFuckYourself

A bit harsh. You should try looking at it as a different game, seperate from Deux Ex 1 and not a sequel to it, thats what I did, and at the least it cushioned the blow. It wasnt a bad game but at the same time it didnt seem to be sure if it was a shooter or an RPG, so it tried to be both, watering down the whole thing and not strengthening the game like in DX1.

  • @Fatman311 Yeah I guess my view is a bit harsher because I've played through the first one. That was the main problem though the developers had a perfect rpg/shooter system in Deus Ex 1 they should of simply improved upon it not screw up and water down aspects of it. I just hate when developers dumb down games to appeal to the masses which is what it felt like playing Invisible War.

  • @MerryGoFuckYourself I agree, the first one was great, and I was disappointed how they dumbed down the skill/augmentation system for it, by making all of that one system. I was also somewhat disappointed by how short the second one was in relation to the first.

  • Comment removed

  • @MerryGoFuckYourself

I've played both as well, and while I dont like IW anywhere nearly as much as I do DX1, I still consider it a good game. Not a worthy sequel to DX1, but a good game nonetheless. Universal ammo really does piss me off, but besides that, the rest was tolerable.

  • @MerryGoFuckYourself I barely beat antarctica, I think I actually ended up running past parts of it because I had no ammo. Then thanks to universal ammo, I made it into Cairo at the end, was completely out of ammo and literally couldn't advance without reloading a way past save game to try and make it through better. Instead I chose to uninstall it and never finish lol. It's a shame how bad this one turned out. I'm hoping for DX3 to somehow be amazing. Frankly I'm worried though.

  • @shlokda

    DX2 needed a skul gun

  • @Fatman311 I really think that if the universal ammo system was scrapped, and it was just reg DX1 style, with the upgrading weapons, it would instantly be like 30 percent better. I still enjoyed it as a game, but I think I also just wasn't as engaged with the characters and factions in DX2. Also they didnt drop any huge bomb plot changers on you like in DX1, like paul working with the NSF, or unatco being a front for MJ12 etc.

  • @shlokda I ended up having more ammo than I could use cos i found it easier to just upgrade the strength biomod and knock people out with the baton. It was so idiotic how it would take 3 shots to the head from my mag rail to take a guy down but with my baton it took one hit. I felt more like i was playing Paul Blart Mall Cop The Game than Deus Ex.

  • Invisible War isn't nearly as good as the first Deus Ex, that's true, I won't argue with that. But, it's still much better than most of the other games, has a much deeper story and the gameplay offers many options that you just don't find in in other, overhyped games.

And I love that they used Kidneythieves songs in the game. Best. Band. Ever. And I love Free's voice and lyrics! She should do more voice acting too!

  • @Necros1984 I have Resistance 2 and World at War for the PS3, neither of which I've completed, and since buying those two games I've returned to Deus Ex: Invisible War and competed it *twice*. Regardless of how well it compares to Deus Ex 1 in the eyes of the die-hard fans, Invisible War is still superior to most glossy, brainless FPS games on modern consoles.

  • This game is very good!

  • awsome game...this made me replay it

  • I liked how the guy who voiced yamcha in DBZ voiced the male hero

  • The one thing I didnt like about this game? There wasnt an ending where you actually went to an N.G. Resonance concert.

  • @Fatman311 I Know Right! I took forever just to finish the game becuz I thought I was doing somthing wrong, And I waited and waited and searched and searched but No freakin concert, lol I was confused for some time xD

  • Modern greats of today such as bioshock, mass effect and fallout all borrowed heavily from this game.

  • @SublimePsychedilics But Deus Ex borrowed from System Shock. :P

  • @Medevila

Not so much borrowed as built and improved upon I'd say. Dont get me wrong, SS is still a fucking great series, it could do with a reboot. Imagine what todays tech could accomplish with it...

  • lol now your saying its about the gameplay, back when this was out it was always about the graphics, and people were saying things like, oh but mario was a great game but it didnt have good graphics... iin 2012 when ps4 or whatever comes out ull say the same about COD or MGS or whatever.... jus get over yourselves

  • the was very confusing for mean I never got to beet it.

  • DX Invisible war is rubbish compared to the original Deus Ex.

  • Comment removed

  • i just learned about deus ex i mean about its existance XD i want them all and human revolution when it's out. :(

  • @sticknasos

So why dont you? DX1 and Invisible War are dirt cheap.

  • so is there 3 endings or 4 endings and do you have to create more profiles to get the endings

  • @Theroguesunit6

I believe theres 4 different endings and you can do them all in one playthrough. You just need to make certain choices right at the end of the game. Kinda spoiled the whole 'taking sides' part of the game for me.

  • so you get to choose the ending like any one at the end of the game

  • @Fatman311 is there a way to download IW1 now? (comments 4 months old so meh :/) when i first played it became my favorite sci-fi, conspiracy, fps, rpg, character dovelopment..... well theres to many things in this game to combine in just the comments so ya... reffer to my question...

  • @sticknasos Buy them at once! They are only 6£ each on Steam.

  • Worst game HUD ever. Invasive AND impractical.

  • what is the songs name?

  • @PicturesOfMyButt

    Kidney Thieves - Pleasant

  • dis game was sick

  • Music download or name anyone, anyone ?

  • @gsharpshooter80 ohh never mind says in the vid haha didn't notice it !

  • Deus Ex is one of my best games i have ever played !

  • Best part of this game: The implants. I shurely wish those where for sale irl.

  • 1:04 Club Vox Talk Omar buy

  • This game is better then deus ex won.

  • What was the weapon Alex was using on the guy at 1:30? I don't remember that was it a biomod?

  • @Agentzirdik

The guy set on fire. It wasnt a biomod or a weapon.

  • lol, it is funny they even put this in there. the enemy was just checking the table which was on fire, and then he caught on fire himself.

  • Despite what people say this is a very well made game, the only problems were the stupid universal ammo and the inventory system. Its only a bad game if you compare it to the original Deus Ex which was far supirior.

Also its really short, I finished the whole thing in one sitting...

  • i haven't played the first but I played the demo version of this on the xbox.

what was there was awesome :P

i've ordered the complete collection box for PC ... whiich should i start first - deus ex or invisible war ?

  • @x0dallas

Deus Ex 1 is where, in all forms and ways, you should start.

The graphics are OLD, but if you, like any sane gamer, are capable of ignoring such a thing, you'll find a rich, genius game oozing with fun contained within.

Leave DX2 till after. Not only is it the sequel for a reason, it also isn't (it most people's opinions) as good a game. The first game is a blend of genres, DX2 is mainly a shooter with RPG elements.

That said, enjoy the games, they're both excellent.

  • thanks :D I'll try out Deus Ex first, i've heard so much hype about it so it should be great. :D

  • so have you played through the first game yet? Like it? dont like it?

  • Meh, I like it, but it wasn't the brilliant game I was expecting. I think that's because I had so muhc trouble getting passed the terrible grahpics, and dying countless times in the first level trying to get my bearings didn't help either. :P I like the game, but finishing it is still on my to-do list.

I think I would find the game more enjoyable if it were simply remade with today's graphics.

  • hi great vid and i agree the 2nd one was a very good game and much too dissed for my liking. There were a couple of niggles or things that could have been done better but overall i would give it 92% for great engaging storyline. They should re-make 1 with modern graphics, it would be awesome

  • Hands down, go for Deus Ex one.

  • ....The first game was better... that's all I'm gonna say.

  • this game made me want to taser my cat. thats a compliment

  • man i wish my copy didnt crap out on me, i wanna play this game so fuckign bad

  • this game was so fucking baller back in the day

  • good game if your mind isn't filled with any prejudgments... not so good game if you just completed the original

  • i think this is not better then Unreal 2: the awakening - this is the best game!! of course ater half life cource or half life 2 :) this games are UNREAL!

  • What I hated about DX2 was these things; no multiplayer, and all that zoning. I guess the zoning part is because of the console thing, but it's still very annoying to play a game like that sitting on a loading screen all the time.

  • This game actually won awards? WTF

  • I'm willing to bet the majority were xbox related, after all, thats the console the game was designed for, which explains a lot of the decisions made in gameplay and controls for the game.

  • I'm playing this at the moment and i am LOVING IT!

  • both games are wonderful! too bad that the first one got censored in germany and the second one doesnt runs on my computer -.-

  • I hate the fact that Dues Ex Invisible War took the RPG elements from the series, and the game itself does not have the background information depth as the first one. Perhaps everything there is to tell has already been told by the first game.

Other than that, still a tight game. Much more interesting than an generic FPS.

  • oh sorry havend read description in the beginning

  • PS where di you got the music from?

  • i think the music is from the games soundtrack

  • It might be, I'm not sure as I dont have IW's soundtrack. I know its definately available as part of the Kidney Thieve's album 'Trickstereprocess'

  • The song in the trailers is a part of Kidney Thieve's Trickstereprocess album, the song itself is called 'Pleasant'.

Other Kidney Thieve's songs were played in the game by N.G. Resonance.

  • Deus ex is the most awesome game i ever played....same goes to invisible war....hope the 3. part is the same good....

  • DEUS EX 3!!! WHOOOOOOOOOo

  • does anyone knows how to run this game on vista 64? or if there is a forum where it`s explained how to do it? dx 1 is my all time favorite! thankss

  • so whats better dues ex 1 or 2?

  • The first game, if you like a deep, evolving and evocative storyline, along with a complex inventory and upgrade system.

The second game, if you like shooting with a great storyline.

It all comes down to preference. I prefer the first game.

  • yea im playing number one now and it is mental hard but im getting through it

  • ditto deus ex scores bonus points cuz not only was it prescient in its futurism and an overall great and compelling story, it also predicted the global terrorist crises and the attitudes of the post 9/11 world

  • Though DX 1 had a lot more shooting than DX 2, as nearly every level in the original you would face dozens of soldiers at a time.

Because the AI was so bad, much of the fighting or evading fighting in the DX 1 was a regular annoying chore, which slowed down the story development.

The skill system was sort of flawed too, but it did provide an incentive to do secondary missions.

In DX 2 I was deterred to do extra missions because I had tonnes of money & hated the many load screens.

  • Although in DX1 you almost always had the option to sneak. Invisibility augmentations, grates and hidden pathways were everywhere, you didnt always have to fight, you could almost always sneak past foes.

In DX2, theres much less opportunities to sneak, you are forced to blast your way through foes a lot more often, since its more reliant on its shooting as a gameplay feature, which is why I prefer DX1, it gave you more choice about how to approach things.

  • Though I do agree that DX 1 was the better game, I don't agree that DX2 relied more on action.

DX 2 had all the same stealth features that DX 1 had, though you could access these from the very beginning of the game with the cloak mods.

I found it really easy to sneak in DX 2. It was harder in DX 1 cos there were enemies everywhere.

Also in DX 1 you were sometimes required to kill key characters to progress.

You can get through DX 2 without killing a single character or enemy.

  • I most certainly do NOT agree. The first part of your comment is perfectly valid, but saying 'everyone agrees' is wrong.

  • No, they arnt. Thats the ratings everybody else except you gave it.

Everyones entitled to their opinion, no matter how you may disagree.

  • its a 2003 game and what matters is the gameplay not the graphics. Both rock

  • I think that the story of this game its great... very dense... interesting... not just simple... does somebody knows a game like this in the actual plataforms like 360 or ps3 or pc?

    cheers

  • I havent seen any games like this on the current gen platform, I think its because studios can just make a great game that sells really well without putting much effort into the story, characters and interactivity. Which is just fucking sad really. You cant find intelligent games these days.

And if you think DX2 is good, play the first one. While its old the gameplay is still great and its still a mindblowing game.

  • These days, game publishers sells tech demos rather than a complete game, DLC and expansion packs? alas...

  • Well the third DX will be out for ps3, 360 and pc... cant wait! :)

  • this game was so easy though, you could go through most of it with the police baton. Its actually fun to knock all the police men out (then kill them with knife), collect tons of ammo, disable police bots...its really easy. But thats what made it fun for me. Plus hacking

  • you mean SSC guards

  • this game is just like the ghost in the shell anime cept not as good

  • The year 2000 was the year for adventure, RPG and story hungery gamers.

Masterpieces like The Longest Journey, Desus Ex 1, Metal Gear Soild 2..... we don't get any games like that anymore.... All games now are just "Go Kill this with this big gun and have fun"

    BRING BACK STORY INTO GAMES!

  • The Longest Journey was released in 1999, Metal Gear Solid 2 was released in 2001.

    Just saying
