Great last point he makes. The timing is interesting. It's to be expected though, at the moment there is loads of 'subtle' ideology generally on tv in reaction to the crisis. All sorts of programmes about what you can do to save money as a an individual etc And it's all done in a overly friendly and patronising way. It's like, look there is a crisis but there is no alternative. Let's be nice and i'll show you can cut back on your food shopping but still eat tasty food!
Zizek is so wrong about "no problem" that you can live as a Jew in Iran... There is "a problem" there and in Arab states. Iranian Jews are under siege. That the truth he won't see for the sake of his argument. Jews in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. are absent. They have been expelled and are rejected without any reason other than they are Jewish. The limits of this brilliant mind is that it is too abstract. Zizek, you are better than that. Or aren't you...
"No problem" is a distortion, but the narrative of eternal Jewish suffering in the diaspora that many Jews (including myself) were raised on in the 20th Century is also a distortion that serves the end of Zionism as the "only solution."
@aimeeplltr actually jews in iran are respected more than people of the baha'i faith, i know from first hand experience, jewish people in iran are migrating on their own will, they are not being forced out... any religious minority will face prejudice but overall jews of iran are active members of society. Its the bahai faith that is being ethnically cleansed here, not the jews
The political schematic Slavoj sketches towards the end of the video seems lacking, I wish he would take some more time for Syndicalism and Anarchism, seeing as he has somewhat displaced Chomsky as the major radical spokeperson of the 'Left'.

8:48, Ernst Nolte's thesis, somewhat.
