  • though we've never met. I want to tell you RIP darlin.

  • RIP from New Orleans. Eve, you are missed by many. I only know you from the news story and from youtube, but you looked like such a wonderful person. I am so sorry for your loss. May your family and friends find comfort in some way and may those two animals who took you from them pay for the rest of their lives.

  • It still means so much to me to listen to this. Eve lighted our world.

  • every single picture that is in this video she is smiling, now she is a beautiful angel.

  • I am from india and to be honest I have nothing to do with UNC at all..... i came to this video by a fluke but ended up searching for the entire thing on google. i just wanted to say my thoughts go with her family and friends. that i can truly feel for her. she seemed to be an amazing person. and that the 2 fucking assholes deserve the highest punishment. i also wanted to say that hr death is not just a loss for UNC or north-carolina but for decent peaceful people all ovr d world. gd bles her.

  • @pieces141127

I agree with your comment about Eve being beautiful and that she was too young to pass the way she did.

  • Maybe she'd be even more offended at assholes like you covering up black on white crime statistics and keeping people in the dark about the dangers they face

  • We begin this evening's meeting by acknowledging the grief and pain that we are suffering at the loss of our colleague and friend, Eve Carson.

Eve was the president of Carolina's student body, which is how many of us came to know her.

  • But the more we got to know her, the more we understood what an extraordinary person she was, and how broadly and deeply she touched the lives of people in Chapel Hill and beyond.

Eve's death represents for us a terrible, incomprehensible loss. She was a person who embodied what is beautiful in this world, and it was a joy to know her. Her having been taken from us rips from us our greatest hopes and our greatest dreams and our greatest aspirations for what the world might become someday.

  • We are diminished by the loss of Eve, and we know it.

We mourn this day, but we will carry on. We will soldier on. We have Eve's memory and spirit to help us carry on. But we will always remember Eve; we will always cherish Eve; and Eve will always be with us in Chapel Hill, to challenge us with her beauty and grace, her intelligence and charm, her compassion and idealism.

  • Eve's spirit will challenge us to be a place where youth can flourish and hope can endure and evil will be forever banished. And although we cannot replace Eve, we do know that she was a person who mattered in this world by the work she did, and she was destined to do great things. Rather than have those things remain undone, each of us can look to pick up a piece of the work that Eve did, and to do the work she would have done, the way she would have done it.

  • My colleagues on the council and I have been a part of the sorrow of our community, and we have reached out to Eve's family and to our colleagues on campus and beyond. We have extended to Chancellor Moeser our deepest sympathy to the campus community, and we have sought to comfort everyone in our town. Each of us has suffered, individually and collectively, a harm that is deep and piercing.

  • Yesterday, my wife Nancy and I attended Eve's memorial service at her hometown in Athens, Georgia. We had the opportunity to meet Eve's mother, Teresa, her father, Bob, and her brother, Andrew. We told them how much Chapel Hill valued Eve and how heartsick all of us are.

Eve's family was very gracious, and even under the burden of such surpassing grief thanked us, and all of you for your thoughts and your support.

  • Athens and Chapel Hill are now forever bound. We are bound by the thread of the life of a lovely young woman who touched us as she graced this world.

Please join me in a moment of silence to remember Eve; but I hope that this moment will resonate around the world, and that our moment will awaken this world with our cry of grief at this senseless death.

    Chapel Hill Mayor, Kevin Foy

  • Tragic story, just heard about it for the first time yesterday, and started looking it up as far as what happened and all. Really sad, she seemed like a sweet girl, it's weird things like this always happen to sweethearts, that poor girl's family. This is terrible, I read the autopsy report, not gonna say I unserstand all the words but u can tell she was severly damaged by those wounds. From what I read there must have been little to nothing left of her cranium and face. Horrible.

  • This Story Break's My Heart

  • happy birthday eve! we love and miss you.

  • im so sad but happy that i met u, what a wonderful girl!!, with tears in my eyes i say god bless ur soul, rip eve ..ur cuban friend

  • god bless you eve!

  • I am still saddened by this.

  • thrillbilly2.

have a little respect. if you died and someone cared enough to do this for you, I would care. I hope that God blesses your soul so that this bitterness does not stay with you forever. you didn;t have to know ever to know the impact she had on our generation. just respect that.

God Bless Eve Carson and those whose lives she touched.

  • Your Carolina family misses you Eve. Today was gorgeous on the Hill, you would have loved it. We will continue living The Carolina Way in your memory.

  • i didn'n now eve but i feel ryt now the sad sorry to know what happend to u condolence in ur family RIP.. :(

  • My sister went to UNC and I was so sad to hear this. But Eve is in a better place now, heaven. But Eve is mourned nationally too. Anoop Desai spreaded the word on American idol so even though Eve is in heaven now, she is still loved here on Earth.

  • I have no relation to the University of North Carolina or even the State of North Carolina itself, but when I heard this news, it really affected me. And still to this day it does. Looking at the photos of those two losers makes me absolutely sick. I hope people who know Eve or know about this surprise themselves and contribute something positive to the world. And I hope Noop Dog wins American Idol. What a great guy, and that would be a great start. Thanks for making this collage.

  • friends just loves you like Anoop Desai R.I.P. eve..

  • you can't help but ask: why?? Why did they have to shoot her? Isn't taking the card and number enough? I can't believe she had to die for 1400 dollars...I feel so incredibly sad right now. I hope she is happy in heaven now

  • i didn't personally know Eve, but I'm sure she happy in heaven Celebrating UNC Champion 2009. I know she like doing her on thang, along with our beloved Ram (Jason).

  • we will always remember the legacy that you have left us at UNC! We miss you Eve...

    Heels <3 Eve!

  • It just unbelieveable what some people are capable of doing to others. And to such a beautiful person. But the sad truth is this kind of thing happens every day.God help us all.

  • I hate that her life ended that way. She was as amazing as everyone says she was. I knew her and this is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul.

  • This beautiful life cut short for 1400 dollars?

  • i love your video tribute to a great person

  • Some people live life to the fullest, such as this young lady did. Others CHOOSE to just waste away, such as her murderer. It's amazing how the one with no life decides to rob the life of someone that does.

  • I totally agree with you.

  • annakristen's comments are 100% correct!

  • she was a beautiful, nice, and caring girl. we will always remember her this video is sweet i'm crying right now :'(

    r.i.p. eve

    <3

  • I'm LITERALLY crying looking at this video and listening to the song!

I am so hurt that this happened to such a BEAUTIFUL & INTELLIGENT person. I didn't know Eve personally, but it feels like i've known her forever!

  • This is a hate crime, these animals have no respect humans, they didn't respect Eve, nor their own family its just about them selves. what she went through makes me sick to my stomach. They do deserve to be executed (coming from a black male, who's father is a cop) lets all pray for justice to be served.

  • Eve, Carolina misses you dearly! I was at the Undergraduate Library studying for an exam, when I saw the sicken details of your last moments. I nearly broke in to tears knowing what you went through. But I know you would want me to stay strong, and live the Carolina Way-"Study Hard and Work Hard" Thank you for the words of wisdom and the inspiration.

  • She was an amazing person. This is a great tribute. She changed the lives of many and would have changed the world.

  • I think of Eve everyday. I live my life differently because of her and have become a better person because of the power of her story.

I have started a volunteer progam because of her. I had never volunteered in my life. I never knew Eve Carson btw just followed her story after her death.

  • This was an amazing tribute to an amazing friend. She was a beautiful person- inside and out. I am honored to have known and served with you Eve. Each day I am inspired to live a better life because of you. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!

  • An amazing video of an amazing girl. We will remember, Eve.

  • thats just awful, my brother is running for a state represenative of pennsylvaina and if something like this happened to him. i would just... be heart broken.

  • Accused killer Laurence Lovett has a long record and his probation officer, Chalita Thomas, never met with him. Thomas herself has a record of 11 arrests. Outrageous

  • we miss you

  • A very nice job honoring a full life lived too short. This young lady would have been a great contributer to society.

  • What a beautiful tribute to a life well lived, though all too briefly.

  • Thank you for posting this tribute to Eve. I have come to know this wonderful young woman only after her death, but know that her impact on me and so many will be powerful. Again, thank you for this wonderful tribute. I know her family and friends are grateful as I am too.

  • i think i remember (sob) when i was very little like 3 years old (sob) you came over to a birthday party for my sister. you and her were best friends (crying). you knew me then and you still do so if you can here me RIP. god bless you eve. (crys)

    love

    A close friend.

  • I can feel your pain and I wish you and her friends and family peace.

  • Thank you for that very beautiful tribute to a Special Person. We are rembering her Family in our prayers at this time.

  • Just a sad world we live today when a person who has so much offer to the world is cut short by such a senseless act. God bless you Eve and those who were affected by this huge void and loss. You're truly a role model!

  • ......RIP......the heaven becomes still a better place with your presence...........

  • This is an incredible tragedy. What a beautiful woman, inside and out. It was horribly disturbing to see her loss on CNN. I don't know you Eve, but God be with you sweetheart...

  • I'm a fellow Athens native (now living in Charlotte) and Clarke Central alumnus.

The Gladiator family lost one of its greatest human beings.

    R.I.P. Eve

  • Well thank you for that fine display of your intellect steyeital.Or should I say Troll?

Funny you should mention the BOYS in bed sheets.I love how when they go on talk shows people demean, ridicule and laugh at them.

Why?Because they are a pack of idiots.

  • Maybe now Eve Carson and Lauren Burk can truly rest in peace in the hands of god now that all of the individuls involved in both cases are locked up where they belong.

    Rest Well Ladies.

  • Hush everybody that has been spouting your racist B.S.

News Flash: They got the second fook. Both are now in custody.

  • What a touching tribute to a wonderful young woman. This is such a horrible tragedy.

  • Eve I don't even know you, but your story of life so touched me. I try to be a good person most of the time, however my impatience gets the better of me. I hope I will be able to overcome alot of this and be just a better person overall. I want to do this for you, because this is what you would have done throughout your life.

  • Rest In Peace Eve

  • A wonderful tribute to a beautiful person. May God be with all of you that Loved her and had the chance to be touched by her. Carry her in your heart forever.

  • Such a vibrant and special young woman. The one(s) who committed this heinous act and those who are condoning it by the "don't snitch" mentality are evil incarnate.

  • Thank you for this beautiful musical tribute to Eve Carson, a beautiful young woman.

They say that 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. With these many photos of Eve, you have written a touching eulogy of a lovely person. Ironically, through this tragic incident, she has indeed 'touched the world'.

May she rest in peace, and may God grant her family peace and comfort in this difficult time.

  • I live abroad and yet share the grief with those who knew her personally, especially her family. May her soul rest in peace. I hope we don't do anything to hurt her legacy which, I believe, include tolerance, service, setting a good example to others. She chose UNC-CH because of diversity. She was looking forward to life, traveling etc. So sad she left us so soon, as good people seem to do. Please avoid the temptation of race bashing. I am black and feel her loss as well. RIP Eve.

  • RIP

  • I never met the young lady, but her spirit, class, leadership qualities and overall beauty makes this very hard for those of us that never met her. I know the effect her loss is having on those that knew her is devastating. My thoughts, and sincere sympathies go to her family and friends. Crime, and gangs must be dealt with. Push your law enforcement agencies not to be apathetic. Work for change as Eve would have. Racism, and the emotions that her loss are spawning can be also deadly.

    RIP Eve

  • God bless her and her family.

i pray for those that this has affected.

this is a loss that will stay with us forever.

    R.I.P.

(this is not an issue about blacks and whites, it has nothing to do with it. all it has to do is that a beautiful girl with a bright future is now gone. God bless her)

  • That's a beautiful tribute you have made. I'm a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill and this has hurt us all so much.

  • RIP :(

  • So tragic... I'm still in shock. I've lived in Chapel Hill for most of my life and this really shakes me down to my core. My prayers go out to her family and everyone shaken by this horrible tragedy.

RIP Eve...I'll remember your charisma, your spirit, your smile whenever I look up at the Carolina blue heavens.

  • please please don't turn this into that. Not today.

  • it has nothing to do with blacks and whites.

if a white peron did this we would be crying just as much over this beautiful girl who had such a bright future.

  • to whomever is nastylefthook1, you didn't have to go there with this bs. it has nothing to do with black violent crime, yes i'm african american and this shouldn't be a racial issue. It's just that we're living in the last and evil days, read your bible. That's if you believe in God, I know that Eve is in a better place. And those guys who killed her will get truely what they deserved... Rest in Peace "Eve"

  • This is awesome. Thank you for making this.

  • I wish I could thank Eve for everything she did for our community.

  • Eve was a person that made such an impact on me with just talking to her a briefly a couple of times when she was in high school. She was the kind of person you always remember, b/c her personality was so warm and welcoming. Even if you you just met her, after 5 minutes you felt her love for life and people. My heart is hurting after all of this, and I pray for her family and close friends. I barely knew her, I can just imagine what they're going through.

  • May God's love comfort this family in their time of Loss. God Bless

  • RIP Eve Carson.

    You were a beautiful person on the outside;

you were a beautiful person on the inside.

    Your impact on our lives,

has made us all want to be more like you,

has made us all want to care more.

Keep watch over us for we need your guidance.

    Very nice tribute!

  • Absolutely beautiful tribute. I live in Missouri but I haev been so touched by Eve's story. I know her spirit lives within the endless people shje touched. My heart and prayer go out to her family & friends and everyone at UNC. May she rest in peace in Gods arms

  • A wonderful tribute. One thing is certain, she made the most of everyday and made a difference. A lesson we should all follow.
