  • All who Oppose me shall never hear the end of this!

  • HEARING THIS. OVER. AND OVER. TRYING TO TRAIN UP MY PARTY. USING THE SELECT + CANCEL MODE. ARGH.

    Seriously though.

    NERYXSYAUFHISHVW.

  • Guitar cover with tabs up on my channel guys!

  • Fun Fact: OST = cheese (Norwegian)

  • Crappy game; great soundtrack. (I'm not a ff hater is just hate ff ii)

  • I actually think the leveling system is this game is very sweet;

I'm sure several of you guys around here feel a deep satisfaction when your stats slowly start increasing in the beginning of the game.

For example, you have Maria throw this Ice spell on the way to Phin, and suddenly you get the message "Maria's MP increased" and then you rest in Gatea and can then throw even more Ice spells. =D

  • @Laurelindo I agree with this. Throughout the entire game, I was compelled by the "... Increased!" message to level up further each time.

  • Is Anyone here because of Scot pilgrim?

  • @tsuyogari2 Scott Pilgrim actually plays the bassline of Final Fantasy IV's battle theme. He says Final Fantasy II because Final Fantasy IV was originally released in America under the title of Final Fantasy II. So if you're hear because of Scott Pilgrim, you're listening to the wrong song :P

  • @iamwarwick haha thats true. But it doesnt change the fact that im here because of scott pilgrim does it?

  • @tsuyogari2 Excuse me?

  • @tsuyogari2 Yup, but I neve thought it would sound this epic

  • @tsuyogari2 Sadly, it was the FFIV battle theme he was playing the bass to. The movie said it was FFII because FFIV was originally released in North America as FFII.

  • @Sh4d0wKat ima living in germany anyways^^

  • epic game epic battle theme<3

  • I like how ever since the movie came out, the most searched thing for FF2 is Final Fantasy 2 Baseline.

  • 4 dislike were black knights

  • is this song on Dissidia 012???

  • @Anemite was on Dissidia1 already, but it was a piano and violin remix, still sounds good tho^

  • Final Fantasy 2 is the best Final Fantasy in the series, people

  • Fun fact: a version of this song was on an episode of Two and a Half Men.

  • @trect18 I spazzed out when I heard that.

Another fun fact: I was playing this game at the time XD

  • @trect18 Whenever I play this game, I think of that episode nearly every time a battle starts. I also think it was this version that was used in the episode.

  • @trect18 I know theres an episode where Jake wants a copy of Final Fantasy X, but I never seen or have found an episode where this song plays in it.

  • @Pharphain Oh nevermind, i'm stupid it's that same episode. It plays at the end instead of the FFX battle theme.

  • @trect18 What? Which episode?

  • @trect18 yeah while he was playing FFX O_o

  • @ZantovanGillie

    They really don't. They all have the same two bars at the start, the | B B B B B B A A | B B B B B B A A | (or the equivalent in another key) but that's it. From that point onwards they're different.

  • @RaiSonOfNerd

Thumbs down! He played the bass line from FFIV, which was called II in the US on it's original release.

  • the reason why i watched this was because of Scott Pilgrim :P

  • Where's the badass one that plays when you fight the Lamia Queen?

  • Sounds more like something you could hear for a commercial for Stratego or something

  • @BeatsandPulses Yeah thanks/

  • shing shing shing! -Feron hits for 20 hits-

BAM BAM BAM!!!!!!! -Guy hit for 24 hits (axes)-

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA bambambambamPOW! -Maria kicks ass and gets a 30 hit....barehanded.- damn that woman is good with her hands XD

  • I there any utube video of the dissidia version of this battle theme cause i don;t see it :/

  • @jrogerboy27 /watch?v=GvSSkEdFhfw&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

there it is, it sounds very different but they are both awsome

  • @jsh020 You know if you listen to the Dissidia version of this theme. You can hear a instrument in the beginning of the video that goes like "ohoh-oh-oh-oh". But its hard to hear so you need to have headphones to find it.

  • runs a bit, enemies hit 30 damage...runs a little further, enemies hit 300 damage HOLY SHIT!, whole party is dead,...

  • @Veggis92 Leg eater appears

    *kills*

    Wasp appears

    *kills*

    3 Ogre Mages appear

    *OH MY GOD!!!!!*

  • @RaiSonOfNerd

what? i got sent here by Final Fantasy II, the series is pretty popular these days you know ¬_¬

  • @RaiSonOfNerd he was talking about the US version of FFII, aka FFIV.

  • @RaiSonOfNerd

too bad he was an idiot, thumbs up for correctness.... FF2 is not FF4.

  • This battle theme sounds fitting for fighting monsters that are much stronger than you.

Considering the nature of Final Fantasy 2......that might happen a lot.

  • THAT'S IT!

I'M GOING TO GO FIND MY OTHER MP3 PLAYER AND FILL IT WITH VIDEO GAME MUSIC!!

  • @MyKurohime did you happen to find an mp3 of this song? XD I freaking want it

  • @ninjaone1 I'll make you one.Hang on.

  • @Enigma1078 true fan :')

  • I think it's good, it's got a lot of cool stuff going for it, but I miss the good old baseline at the beginning. But thats just me.

  • One word: Epic.

  • Wrong song though, its actually FF4 :P. Scott Pilgrim just likes being cool and referred to it as the old US name.

  • @dgwillia

Most people still know FFIV as FFII here in the US. Unless you're an avid FF gamer, like me, and you, and others, then you might not know, or had noticed there was a weird gap between games prior to their releasing all FF titles here in the US in the rightful order of original release.

  • @RaiSonOfNerd

But actually he played the FF4 Battle theme, which was the 2nd for US and Europe...

    Just to nerd a bit^^

  • @LeGuyIncognito actually FF7 was the first final fantasy in europe.

  • @chafenhimer Yea, thats true. But what i meant is that FF4 was FF2 in the USA, when it was released there. (guess it was released in EU in some collection as ff2)

  • @LeGuyIncognito Nah, FFIV was only released in the US as II. We didn't get it at all on the SNES and by the time we did get it (in one of the Playstation collections I believe) it was called IV.

  • @Strawberrylatticegod BASS GUITAR :P

  • @RaiSonOfNerd No thumbs up. The bassline Scott was talking about is actually from Final Fantasy IV. Go check out the battle theme of IV.

  • Who the hell listens to midi music anyway.. it's thin, ridiculously bad melody from the mediocre Nobuo Uematsu.. what a lackluster composer he is... go find other battle music .. some REAL music.... nah just kidding, love Uematsu and most of his work is genious!! CHEERS BWHAHA

  • @RaiSonOfNerd im actually just watching it for the first time and got past the scene where hes playing on guitar xD

  • @Evisiling It's on BASS, not guitar..... jesus

  • Hey look I learned the Bass Line to FFII! (Plays amazing bass solo)

  • @lordofzaptherapy You are the salt of the earth

  • @BeatsAndPulses Oh Thanks.

  • @BeatsAndPulses did you mean "scum of the earth"

  • @BeatsAndPulses You mean the scum of the earth.

  • @lordofzaptherapy sorry, I meant the scum of the earth

  • @lordofzaptherapy This is from FFIV dude....

  • @spitboi7 Are you sure? The video says FFII.

  • @lordofzaptherapy He's talking about the bass line Michael Cera plays in the movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." It's the bass line of FFIV, but in America FFIV is known as FFII.

  • @MementoMoriMoon Oh. I honestly didn't know that. That reference was more clever than I thought. It doesn't really matter though because their bass lines are almost identical.

  • @lordofzaptherapy He actually plays the bass line from FF IV... (FF II US)

  • @menschmaschine5 Yeah I know. But if you listen the bass lines are practically identical anyway.

  • @lordofzaptherapy you're right, until you get past the 2-note riff that's in most FF battle themes. Then you're way off.

  • @lordofzaptherapy oh sorry i mean scum of the earth

  • @lordofzaptherapy Scott pilgrim!! lol

  • @lordofzaptherapy where can i get the tab?

  • @TheTwinfenrir lol he's referring to a quote from Scott Pilgrim.

  • @lordofzaptherapy your on the wrong video dude. He meant final fantasy 4 that america knew as II.

God i am so tired of telling people this.

  • @lordofzaptherapy Hate to ruin your comment because I love Final Fantasy and Scott Pilgrim but when he was saying Final Fantasy II, he was referring to the original localization of Final Fantasy IV which was called Final Fantasy II. You can hear the baseline he plays is more similar to that battle music than this song.

  • @lordofzaptherapy

Hey look I learned the Bass Line to FFIV

    /fixed

  • @lordofzaptherapy Scott Pilgrim reference xD

  • SHUT UP everybody! The only thing that came out good in FF7 was Tifa's tits!

  • @anythingnew I agree to this.

  • Zack uses Blizzard!

Sarah attacks for a 20 hit!

Alex attacks for a 24 hit!

    Leon uses Berserk!

Man I loved those days =P

  • i <3 this

  • awesome Scott Pilgrim really did play the bass line to this song in the movie haha

  • @Faced1111 no the north american version of Final Fantasy IV is called Final Fantasy II, youtube search the battle theme from Final Fantasy IV and youll hear the bass line michael cera plays in the movie

  • awesome Scott Pilgrim really did play the bass line to this song in the movie haha

  • My favorite normal battle theme.

  • Out of our way stupid mofos, or we will kill you with FLAR 16!

  • This is most epic than the Dissidia version! =D

  • this music is underrated very nice battle theme :D

  • not that i loved the movie besides its visual style...but they used this song in Scott Pilgrim...even saying "HEY look, i learned the bass line for Final Fantasy II Battle 1" and plays it's bass for a min lol.

i even stayed through the credits JUST to see Nobuo Uematsu's name appear :)

  • This song gives me goose bumps every time I hear it.

  • FF II is so underrated and unappreciated D:

  • @SacredImpressia Damn right,it´s an epic fantasy game, you can spend 100 hours playtime but you will never make it "perfect".It´s really sad :´-(

  • This is perhaps the second most blood pumping battle theme in the ff series right after ff8.

  • this is actually better than the dissidia's verison

  • Even if it repeats over and over.

It is a circle of epic battle.

You will mostly focus on your enemy weakness.

like those turtles and they vulnerability to ice.

When i first noticed it, i did start so shit bricks.

  • listened to this in sync with the nes version....blew my mind....

  • @qMattp OMG...I just did that. Damn...

  • I got all my characters strong very early in the game, and now that's backfired on me thanks to the final boss' 210 def or something like that. Now i'm grinding my character's magic in Jade passage.

  • The best FF titles are between the first seven episodes!

  • hehe and people hate this game. what suckers im happy i was one of the ones that got to enjoy this game. also the music is kick ass.

  • I used to hate it but now I love it.

  • I'm playing this game right now on my iPhone. I have to say, the monster damage SPIKES when you get have to go to Dist (or whatever it's called). Friggin zombies murder your party.

  • @Oracion Hoo, boy, just wait until a little later on. This game takes pride in kicking the crap out of you and your party.

And DON'T get me started on Soul of Rebirth....-shudders-

  • @AceTheSlayer75 Oh trust me, bro. I'm currently going to Mysidia, and I already know I'm not going to like it. Gonna have to train up a bit and get my protect level up some more.

If they ever remake this yet again in the future, I really hope they rescale how you gain stuff, cause spells take WAY too long to level and are basically useless after the first 2-3 bosses.

  • @Oracion This game was definitely not made for people who don't like level grinding, that's for sure.

  • @AceTheSlayer75 This game isn't just level grinding, you have to do it for hours and hours and you have to do it seriously, spamming just fight will make you unable to fight bosses since they are practically melee immune end game.

  • @DarkvindFromIllier Funny thing about it, I HAVE beaten this game. AND Soul of Rebirth. I was just pointing out that the grind is, much like in other older RPGs, a a little more heavy

  • @Oracion thats where Im headin on my PSP version, I feel you pain, I have to grind for like a week straight

  • Y'know the more i look at the "FF Wars" as i like to call them over which FF is best. Who cares. They're all obscenely godly. Just listen to the music and fight the battles. Cause as long as we remember the memories of these games and keep them with us. These games will always reign supreme. I love Final Fantasy. Each and every one of them.

  • The main reason for those "FF Wars" is to help come to an understanding of what qualities are needed to make a game great. (Or at least they're supposed to be. Obviously, a lot of people just wnat to say "My opinion is better than yours.") Ideally, they're supposed to be used to influence the creators to make future games more enjoyable. That's why humans developed a tendency to argue in the first place.

  • @Socran Well said. But there are times when these "Wars" Just get out of hand. Do you not agree?

  • @Socran Very wise words, Socran. =)

  • i think all FF battle-themes are very great but this is one of my favo.

  • I find this quite fitting when you're fighting the Black the Knights at the beginning of the game, mostly because it has that "It's hopeless, we're doomed" feeling... at least, to me it does :V

Any who, this is an awesome battle theme o3ob

  • @Sum1Important Not to mention most of the battle s in this game (even random ones) are insanely hards, unless you power train your characters from the begining, even then most monster later in the game have such high def and lots of resistances that you'll always have to either

    1-Have insane attak

2-Curse them (then again some of thpose RESIST CURSE)

  • @NeoArashi I think I did end up power training early in the game, because my HP is around +450, and I just got the Goddess Bell ^^;

...Is the GBA version easier? *is playing that version* |:1

  • @NeoArashi Eh? Was it really that hard?

A lot of time passed since I played it, but I don't remember it beeing so hard to beat o.ô

  • @Sum1Important Especially when they're only KO lol

However, in the original FF 1,2,3 on the NES/Famicom. when a character lost all oh his/her HP, that character DIED

  • @NeoArashi ...so? You can still bring them back to life .-.

You just have to find a clinic in FF1 (building with a heart). Not sure about FF2 or 3, but I'm sure there were ways to revive fallen characters :1

  • sometimes i would get in a battle just to sit there and listen to this song...thats how good it is.

Final Fantasy 2, one of my favorite games of the series.

  • One of the best battle themes in final fantasy series

  • @GreatGamer94 I would say THEE best, as far as standard battle themes are concerned (not including bosses).

Actually, FF II has an abnormally large amount of tracks that kick ass.

  • original NES version:

    youtube. com/watch?v=03-vzLP87lA

  • Nevermind I've read it,

Lol, all these thumbs 'cause I said I like FF7's battle theme?, thumbs down = poor comment, I don't that was a poor comment... :S

Anyway I was just saying my opinion :(

  • Lol I forgot what I said and I can't read it :S, What did I say?

  • I used a program call Audacity.

You can also turn it up, slow it down(use tempo though) or make it slower (using speed, sounds more like slow motion turning the pitch down at the same time) amplify, give it a bass boost and more.

  • Gaha, yeah, this song's really fun to mess with in Audacity. Turning the speed down by 60 makes it sound like the theme of some evil empire.

  • This sounded more epic when I turned the pitch down, I could really hear those violins!

  • Look at this carefully.

Thumbing down generally means they disprove or disagree with it, generally thumbing down is a simple way of scoring approval and disapproval.

    Kthnxbai

  • This sounds so ownage!

  • Goddamn I love AND hate this game so much. Reminds me of ex-girlfriends.

  • Maria isn't real aceduck1981, get over her!

  • I didn't mean it like that. :p Although I would like a woman with purplish color hair.

  • I admit, as a new Final Fantasy fan, I was never very interested in II. Though my opinion has been swayed by this song alone. I'm not looking forward to the level system, but I think I'll pick up Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls later on.

  • This is actually my fav out of the NES ones. Story is a bit Star Wars-ish but it's better than 3 that's for sure.

  • The level system is pretty strange actually. I, myself, prefer the class system over the mastery system.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME! my favorites are ONE and TWo because they pwn! This has the best battle theme and boss theme! ever! I love the extra thing once you beat the game. the soul world thingy.

  • my favourite of al final fantasies!

    best characters and best music!

  • the most unique of all thirteen ffs.

  • Is it me, or does it seem like Square put a lot more work in re-making this'n rather than FF1?

  • I dunno, when both are 8-bit the FF2 music is still better. And the FF2 gameplay is still awful, with the added horror of no fast multi-target battle animations.

  • @SoulCalibrator Considering ff1's story had one major hole, 2 deserves a remake more. Plus Chocobos.

Nah but seriously, if anyone in 1 wouldve just asked Garland, 'Why are you doing this?' his brain wouldve imploded.

  • I used to just sit at let the battle go on and on just so I could listen to this song for hours. This is honestly the best battle music of them all.

  • I think they know this too, they used it in chocobos dungeons pop-up battle.

  • I dont know, just makes me look forward to battling <3

  • This is one of the better battle themes I've heard... I dunno most of the early FF themes seem to be kind of dramatic when rearranged and compared to the later ones.

  • the problem people had with this is they hate ff7 fanboys, and even when someone isnt a fanboy, they automatically assume they are whenever they hear someone say 'ff7'. so yeah. FF7 battle theme was great, no lie. But... so are most. This one included.

  • @E6C6E6 Eh.. I personally was a huge fan of FF7 AND I think the FF7 regular battle theme kinda fell short. The BOSS battle theme was AWESOME, though.. I actually kinda wish FF7 had FF8's regular battle music because it is waaay more epic/fun to listen to.

  • @summerguy03 Other than its music, 8 was one of the only two ff's I hated. 8 and 10, I just couldnt like.

  • @E6C6E6 musically speaking,i consider ff7 inferior to its predecessors storywise and character wise.

It is nowhere near as good as people boast it to be,in fact its is severely overrated and overshadows games that are better.

And music wise,ff7 isn't that great either;sure i love the boss theme and jenova theme and shinra's theme, but thats all.

FF3 for the nes has several themes i really and trully like.

Example:town themes in ff3 nes are great,i really like the town themes and boss theme.

  • @piromaniac9999

Launching a dream into space, Birth of a God, Trail of Blood, Cosmo Canyon... the list could go on of all the great scores you forgot in 7 lol. 3 on NES was ff6, right? yeah, its score was amazing. storywise, I'm looking at 4 and thinking awesome, but when you realize the party is literally a bunch of people that want to kill themselves... lol

Seriously, everyone ever in that game tries to sacrifice themselves. everyone. maybe not rosa.

  • @E6C6E6 i also loved some of the dungeon musics.

In ff2 i like some of the themes for towns, never liked the actual world map theme.

Good dungeon themes too and the boss theme is cool as well, but i only get to hear it a few times when i fight a certain dragon i think and then there is dark cloud which is also a good theme.

FF3:some of my favorite town music in the series so far,the main theme for the first town is just so tranquil and flows just so well.

  • @E6C6E6 And in ff4 i loved almost every single music piece.

My favorite pieces are usually dungeon musics town musics battle and boss themes and even some world map themes, as the game has literally some really amazing pieces.

ff4 is an amazing work of art in terms of music as is ff9.

I wish more would cherish it.

ff5 has some pieces i really like such as:the airship piece is my favorite piece of music in the game along with underwater theme.

Battle under the bridge is also really good.

  • @E6C6E6 sorry if i posted so much, was just trying to share some of those mutual feelings you are sharing with all of us.

  • @E6C6E6 nope ff3 nes is not ff6.

How can you be so insular and not have played ff6 for the snes?

And ff7 is overrated in music and story and gameplay,it really isn't that great.

Sure it has some good pieces, but ff9 has better pieces and so does ff6 and ff4.

And ff3 nes is amazing in its self

  • @piromaniac9999 OH, you mean the japanese ff3 for nes. I didnt have a way to play it back then being it was only in japan, and these days I just put up with the DS remake. I'm fine with it.
