  • I love this song. I was recalling it in a dream last night.. I used to dance to it when it was on an LP a compilation from WH recordings. Thanks so much for posting. I need to get the album again. So magical. :)

  • What's the software you've used? Looks alot like Ejay.

  • @Deejdd I sequenced this using Cakewalk Sonar 5.

  • speed it up and it sounds like video game music

  • even my cats like this music!!!

  • @SuperMelanielee Awesome! It is a very catchy tune. =) I'm glad everyone in the household is enjoying it!

  • so beautiful!!!

  • what a most mystical beautiful sound

  • This is tune is one of the ones that my husband and i used to listen to while we were dating. it will always be specail to me.

  • @MrYotaguy Greetings. I'm happy to hear my video brings back fond memories for you, and I am also happy to hear you and your husband enjoyed listening to Ray Lynch while you were dating. This is much more memorable music than a lot of the rabble floating around recently. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my remaster of it and leaving a comment, I appreciate it.

  • OH, THAT SWEET BUT CRAZY GIRL,CONNIE. SHE ROCKED MY WORLD, TORMENTED MY SOUL AND LEFT ME COMPLETED UNDONED. YET, I'M STILL HAUNTED BY THE SCENT OF HER PLEASURES.

  • Demonslayer232-My parents used to play this song all the time when I was a baby...I never realized before just how trippy it is...

  • @randomnchan15 Good music knows no boundaries. Keep on living and loving!

  • this is great! i have such a soft spot for this song and you did a fantastic job. bravo.

  • @sylvenya Thank you! I am happy to know you have enjoyed this version. =)

  • My uncle in tennessee brought the music of Ray Lynch into my life when i was 10 yrs. old. It has really helped me to deal with stress. I actually dance in my studio to all the cds that I have of Ray Lynch.

  • Good job! BUT at :55 you're playing the wrong notes in that run. It's supposed to be Ab B Db Eb E Eb Db

  • @MichaelGunnMusic I'll have to give it a whirl! Thank you for the input. =)

  • Very nice cover, Ray Lynch is an incredibly inspiring person...what program and synthesizer did you use? The Yamaha one that he uses? (IIRC, that is)

  • @0ogabooha I believe Ray uses a DX-7 for the "harp" sound. Same as what David Lanz used in his Behind The Waterfall. There's a live video of that song in Paul Speer's channel. (paulspeer1)

  • If you love Ray Lynch or this song, you have to listen to Ray Lynch's Oh of Pleasure. In my opinion, it's just a tad better. I love em both to death

  • @salamisumo2 The Oh of Pleasure is much more advanced than Celestial Soda Pop and probably one of Ray's best scores of all time. I love it!

  • i like the piano part :)

  • @monyxie No piano in this score. Maybe its the harp you like so much? No two ways about it, this is one of the best and most inspirational new age scores ever composed by one of the pioneers and masters of the new age genre. =)

  • I Always like new revisions, it keeps the spirit of the music going! I was only 7 when i first heard the origional. Nice work!

  • @msatrading This song and the artist who composed it, Ray Lynch, have been a hug influence on me as a continue to improve my skill and create unique new compositions.

  • This song is beautiful

  • @uberscientist It truly is. Thank you for listening. =)

  • I thought this was great. My mom and I used to listen to this on our road trips. Thanks for bringing it back, and screw the people who don't like it.

  • sorry people do not like your arrangement or even the song! this is how i met you and as i said then this was my favorite song in the laser show again thank you.

  • I love this song...

  • I first heard this song back in 1990 1991 it's been so hard to find... brings back some good memories

  • I don't like it. The Song yes, your version no, but good try.

  • @mbrown187 It was an excellent try IMHO, but everyone has their own preferences. I'm sorry it didn't stand up to your expectations.

  • The beginning of the melody is a total ripoff from "Call Me" by Blondie

  • My wife (who is very familiar with both) sat here and sang the lyrics to Call me to the notes of Celestial Soda Pop. While there were some alignments, there were very glaring discrepancies as well. To quote her, "It is possible it [Celestial Soda Pop] may have been inspired by Blondie, it is definitely not a duplicate or rip off." Ray Lynch has many inspirations and a very extensive musical education. He doesn't need to rip anyone off, trust me.

  • yes...i see what your saying...its like the song, hes so fine and the my sweet lord song...

  • Not only that, but it is 5 notes in sequence up a minor key scale. How many other songs have the same 5 note sequence? I would venture to say as many as hundreds if not thousands.

  • I hear you man, but the first 8 notes has the exact same tempo and syncopated note sequence, and even the resolution to the root fits exactly at the same moment of Blondie´s theme. Frankly the only difference i hear, is that the main idea of this melody is half-step lower than the original key signature of "Call Me", with a few different notes.

But honestly i don't know this composer, i was looking for something else and i ended up here.

  • kind of sounds like fer elise

  • I can understand the start at 0:43, but why end at 1:23? Time limit of the ring tone? Thank you, I'm happy you like my cover enough to make it your ring tone. =)

  • sincere thanks for posting this. I had not heard this in some time.

  • Thank you! I am happy to hear you enjoy my version. =)

  • Oh how this song takes me back. Wonderful meditation music

  • Yeah, it is already becoming a classic. Hard to believe how quickly the time has flown by!

  • JasonWard: Thought this became a classic some 20+yrs ago with Roma of WLS89-AM "Don & Roma" early morning show when she used this Ray Lynch music as lead-in to her "Little Red Book"

I have to thank ROMA for 1st introducing me, my children & others to the magic music of Ray Lynch!

  • Jason: Unique video capturing what makes Ray Lynch's awesome "Celestial Soda Pop" extraordinary!

What so catches my eye everytime I watch this vid is that beginning @ :004

& going to 1:11 - again @ 3:14 showing the rt hand playing keyboard! Is it my imagination, or does it show more black keys vs ivory making this enchanting music what it is??! (a play in sharps & flats?) That along w/ ur beautiful 'sky shots'!

Most beautiful video, Jason ! Extraordinary & enlightening! THNX

  • Yes indeed. Ray wrote this piece in the key of C#, so there are tons of black keys through the piece.

  • In fact It is C#minor.

  • JasonWardStudios: YES - of course C# Minor! My hischool band director, Mr Shoemaker, would surely have bumped me down from 1st chair flutist too many yrs back -had I made this same mistake then!

  • While I won't release my work file version of this piece I did take time to find you a decent general midi version that is openly available on the internet. Check your private messages for the link and thank you listening! =)

  • Great Rendition, ever think of trying to re record Ray Lynch's "the Oh of Pleasure"?

  • I think that would be far more difficult. The Oh of Pleasure is a much deeper and richer piece than Celestial Soda Pop by a long shot. It is something I could consider, but certainly not lightly.

  • Janice Mae

I watched the sun come on Bequia on a sloop to this, naked to the waist, with rum in my coffee, and I was 52! Thanks Ray!

  • Love this Fantastic job

  • This is such a worthy score to cover. Thank you. =)

  • i think you did a great job. i never learned how to play piano great job i enjoyed it very much.

  • Thank you for stopping by to listen and enjoy! =)

  • Wow! Nice job thanks

  • I love, Ray Lynch's music too it''s so smooth and just so beautiful! I find it quite elevating!

  • Great choice of words. Elevating! I like that. Thank you. =)

  • hey jason.

well, what can I say.. there are songs that we listen to for some days.. weeks.. and then they lose their "kick" and become second-hand songs that we listen to only every now and then.

for me, this is not the case with this song. I've been listening to it almost every day for 2 years since I first heard it on the youtube video called "real flying saucer"..

what do we need drugs for if there is such music?

great job for this version, I really love it!

    added to favs.

  • Glad to hear you enjoy this version! It is a truly wonderful song enjoyable to listen to any time. I can honestly say that I never pass up a chance to listen to it even after over 2 decades now. Ray's music has a lasting character that will be listened to and studied by musicians far far into the future I am sure.

  • Love seeing that 1080 Jason.

Great view showing your way of recording.

    I like the voices !

    Dave.

  • Hello David. It's been so long since I've heard from you. Good to see you here! Thank you. =)

  • I "discovered" Ray Lynch on a new Age Sample album and his music is fantastic! Thanks for this!

  • That was so interesting.I liked how you played the piano to the music;and the clouds going over the trees. And I

loved the music.I reckon this is a lot harder to make than it looks. I loved it.

    Thanks very much.

  • Thank you. It wasn't too bad, but then again I've been listening to this song frequently for over 2 decades now. =)

  • the first time i heard this i was 5 at stone mountain and i couldn't find it. This touched me

  • It is a truly touching work. =)

  • Thank you for doing this! It means more than you think.

  • It's good to know it made a difference for you, even if only a little. Thank you for listening and posting. =)

  • You wouldn't happen to know where I can find your rendition in mp3 or wave format?

  • We all have our song of the week or day or what not. This was my song of the year when I was about five. I have been a musician from age 11 and no doubt this song has inspired me to listen to and play more music.

  • I hear you! It was the song of many years for me as well. =)

  • JasonWardStudios: Thanks so much for giving us all this unequalled music by Ray Lynch! Had it previously on YouTube thanks to 'Crane38X' - but was discontinued. Gotta have my 'fix' of Ray Lynch & his "Celestial Soda Pop" is one of my faves. Thnx again

  • jasonWardStudios: Jason, nxt video give us more cloud scapes, sunrises & sets vs that (what?) computer image?!

    P'rhaps I shoudn't complain since I finally have Ray Lynch's music back!

    Just a thought, OK?

  • I'm working on some unique rendered images for my next video, but it will be one of my own songs, not a Ray Lynch cover. Expect to see more time lapse photography and such in future videos as well. I did this video in a way to sort of show people what I did to replicate the song rather than just as a showcase of the music and images. I'm happy you enjoy it as much as the original! Thanks for listening and leaving suggestions and comments, I appreciate it. =)

  • nice music! ...touch the soul!

  • It really does. Thank you! =)

  • Real y mítico, gran paciencia, saludos *****

  • It was worth the time though, as you say, it is mythical and quite beautiful. Thank you. =)

    bonne continuation

  • Nice one Jason! The sound, sequence and Images Really Great! 5*+++

  • Even though it isn't my score I am really happy with how this turned out. I could have been a perfectionist and nailed the main melody a little better in all 3 parts, harp, strings, and reeds, but it sounds neat the way it is. Glad you enjoyed it. =)

  • thanks for sharing. Video beatiful...

  • Glad you like, thank you for listening.

  • I love this music, thanks for sare.

  • I love this music too, Ray Lynch is a genius. Thanks!

  • 5*****

    Joyce

  • Thanks for listening and more so for commenting. =)

  • Great Interpretation.., , Fantastic!!!!, thanks..Kisses...

  • Glad you think so! =D

  • Great job! Loved the time lapses and lightning images (some of my favorite things!). Always liked this tune and you did a very nice rendition of it. I also liked seeing the MIDI rack and software in action - great way to break-up the scenes and show a variety of interesting things. 5*+ for this one :-)

  • Thanks! I still have yet to get a timed shutter release cable for my Pentax. When I do hopefully I'll be producing more and lengthier time lapse sequences. I had fun putting together this video because it is unlike any other video I've assembled yet. I'm glad you found the various elements interesting and entertaining.

  • this is just wonderful, you did a nice job

    hugs margo

  • Thank you Margo. =)

  • Fantastic my friend! Love the music, a wonderful chill. Great idea with the video too, especially the hand playing. And as always the lightning images rock! 5***** well deserved! All the best! :O)

  • This is the song that got me started with music. It was my inspiration. It's so wonderful to be at a point now where I can replicate it so closely. I'll always love Ray Lynch. His work has always helped guide me.

  • You are phenomenal! I loved this!

  • I'm so glad you liked it that much. Thank you. =)
