i think liek every one else snipers are awesome, but when i join the marines i don't want to be one cause the math and everything if i would be terrible is what others should realize the y probaly would be too
@Nonsaneness Yeah, near-snipees don't look too kindly on snipers from what I've heard. As in, "Throw away all your gear so they think you're just a regular soldier and don't kill you too hard" kindly.
coming from a SEAL u wont make it have been a SEAL sniper for five years i have seen the strongest smartest men go into bud/s and not make it so u do relize that if u dont make it u will b the lowest rank on a navy ship

@Mattieboy207 well actually there is a waiting list. you do have to be an expert and get a first class PFT. BUT when you choose to be a Scout Sniper after basic, some are sent to Scout Sniper School almost right after, and some wait 2-3 years to get a spot in Schout Sniper School
Awesome man, I leave for basic in January. I'm hopin' to qualify expert, and be a "designated marksmen" unlike a sniper i would carry a semi-auto rifle like M-14 or a modified M-14 and i would operate as apart of a 4-man squad. but if i don't then i'm goin' out for combat engenier or somthin' with engines.
Believe it or not my dad was 2 best shot in the marine corps at the time(30 years ago)but 2 means nothing only first. He got expert 3 times Times have changed and he said he used an M16A1. Good luck not trying to brag or anything about my dad. He was part of a 13 man squad and he and sum1 else were the "snipers of the squad (forgot what its called) but all they would do is pick of soldiers while mainly the rest of the squad is putting rounds down range
