This show was made way before that was officially comfirmed. Sonic could alwasy never swim (as shown in the Genesis titles and how Tails CAN swim), but it wasn't officially stated until much later.

Sonic's inability to swim was pointed out in "SONIC UNDERGROUND", "SONIC X", And the Sonic the Hegehog anime OVA (he almost drowned when fighting Metal Robotnik (Dark Eggman in the original)

It caught up with Sonic in no time, but wasn't fast enough to hit him when he did.

It got tired (how can a cactus be out of breath in the first place?), even though it was shot from a cactus and did fuck all.

It "flew" back to the cannon for some reason.

The cannon was 10 feet away even though the cactus flew miles away from it.

And for some reason it made the cannon explode.

Why did he do all that? Why?

He has always been called that in Japan ever since the first Sonic game came out America and Europe called him Ivo Robotnik and wasn't until Sonic Adventure that everyone calls him Eggman and btw Robotnik and Eggman are the same person since I have accepted his name as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.

In Sonic Adventure though, he still calls HIMSELF Robotnik. Besides, it makes sense cause he makes robots... not eggs.

His Japanese name has always been Dr. Eggman so I have accepted his name as Dr Ivo Eggman Robotnik and btw the Julian part of his name was only used in the Sonic SatAm cartoons never in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Underground, Sonic X or the games.

Yep these are Sonic the Hedgehog 2 enemies the red Pirahnas are from the Emerald Hill Zone, while the Blue ones are from the Aquatic Ruins and the Octopus from the Oil Ocean Zone while Scratch Grounder and Coconuts are also based on Sonic 2 robots as well since Grounder and Coconuts are also the names of those two robots in the Emerald Hill and Aquatic Ruins Zones.
