@lynalove The story goes that Simon wrote the song back when Melanie was about to record her first album. Simon met Melanie at the Excelsior in Glebe where she was hosting a lot of new talent. She asked if she could use his song on her album, he liked her interpretation and so it was born. Its the only song on her album "the adventures of.." she didn't write. Melanie loves performing this song and always acknowledges Simon as the writer.

I loved this song, and this episode. For some reason cancer runs in my family. My dad, mom, brother, uncle, neice, grandmas and grandpas have all died of cancer. I know what it feels like to think that nothing in the world matters anymore.
