  • andiv1968, i was there ,lookin at the camera about 1:30, great times my friend

  • Great times.....Just spotted myself at the front.....

  • 1:02 <3

  • was there great times

  • i was born then

  • nice guitar change .

  • Peter Hook was humping the shit out of that bass!

  • @iantree25 - dead right!!

  • I'm 42 now, would not swap growing up in the early 80s with anything..

  • @lantree25

me, too. can recall first hearing this album...chills, man...chills! plus cute girls liked them.

  • met the legend that is peter hook last night at sankeys fucking yes!

  • Remember seeing this on one of the OGWT compilations.

Fantastic stuff. Hooky is an act all on his own.

  • The live version was so much better than the studio version.

  • Hooky's leather was a bit dodgy even for 1985. just sayin.

  • Wow,he just threw the guitar down!!Like,"Hey man can you fix the fucking thing"!!

  • taken from the album "low life" factory records top stuff!

  • I wish I can take a time machine back to this time and this place.

  • Watched this from balcony wiv Gaz after the Mondays played before them we ad all ad a microdot an it was the first time bez went on stage!

  • Yep takes me way back, I can now tell my kids without any shadow of a doubt that chipmunk, Scooter and JLS really are SHITE

  • @womblehunters

Without a doubt they are just shite. New Order=Amazing!!

  • loved this to death on my 17th birthday @ the hac, shame E,s were still unavailable (then)

  • he was 29 here

  • Absolute class! How Barney can watch this and not want to play with NO again.. i'll never know.

    New Order wherever forever..

  • To be fair, I don't think Barney had a lot of choice in the matter.

  • Well Bernard could have spoke to Hooky instead of him and Steve trying to carry on without telling him which they both did which is a bit fuckin sly they can never ever be New Order without Hooky ... arent Bad Lieutenant dreadful?..sorry BAD

  • you are forgetting the Hooky left the band without telling the others. Not the other way round.

  • Awesome!

Pity we won't ever have the opportunity again.

    Fac51 RIP - NO RIP.

  • i love new order

  • I was listening to Huey Lewis at the time.

Somebody should have just run me over with a New Order's tour bus. It would have been the right thing to do.

  • no shame in enjoying a bit of Huey Lewis, but it is true that they don't compare to New Order. NO was just before my time and I wasted much of my teenage years with Nirvana, Oasis, REM and Radiohead. I'm starting to make up for that now

  • @deyoungparker That's a shame.Too bad,I was young back then, but not too young to be aware.Man I'm glad I didn't miss out on this when it was new.

  • this is awesome wish i was there

  • Holy fuck. He just throws his guitar on the ground. lol crazy.

  • FUCKING LOVE NEW ORDER That's all i have to say. RIP FAC 51.

  • I was at this gig too - as usual they played 4 songs and fucked off. Brilliant yes - lazy and petulent? you bet. Still love everything they are and have been.

  • incredible after all these years- so much nostalgia... what i would give to live in the past... i feel so much older now...

  • greeeeat!

  • fac 51 r i p

  • awesome

  • Great gig,too bad I never saw them play live.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • Fucking energy off this is amazing.

Cheers for posting gold like this up for peoples who never got the chance to see them at the Hacienda.

  • Bloody Awesome!

  • I agree! Fantastic!!

  • one of my favorite New Order songs.

  • Agreed !! I was at this gig just spotted myself getting crushed to death at the front haha ... The Hac will live on in our hearts

  • Agreed !! I was at this gig just spotted myself getting crushed to death at the front haha ... The Hac will live on in our hearts

  • The hacienda will always be alive in manchester, Cheers Tony, although I cant believe they turned it into fucking flats. Fuck off you money grabbing bastards.

  • great!!!

  • Cuanto poder sexual emanaban estos hombres, me fascinan!!!!

  • I had this on Betamax :)

  • i was at this gig and new order were on top form.seen them live many times sometimes they were a bit shitty soundwise other times they blew you away.

  • did they do a matinee early doors for the young 'uns

  • Does anybody have New Order playing "The Him" live?

  • rik robbo , you and me 1985 , LOWLIFE , good times since then & i`ve never met anyone quite like you b4.

  • great stuff!

  • I've never seen this clip before, but I loved it.

This is one of my favourite songs.

  • Amazing - I remember seeing this in 1985 on the Old Grey Whistle Test and countless live performances by New Order I attended after this. On this day when Anthony H Wilson died I think this as a great tribute to the man - god rest his soul.

  • Beltin! Fookin! TUNE! And that's all she wrote.

  • Wow, what just happened? Has the Hac vanished? No, it contains toffs with more money than sense...EITHER FLATTEN IT OR REBUILD IT TO ITS FORMER GLORY...STOP TOYING WITH MY SENSES!

  • My first ever Gig was to see N.O. at The Rotters Club, Doncaster 84, and only when I heard a bootleg many years later, did I conclude that they are Peter Hook and three talentless geeks. Hooky holds the attention, but those vocals are dire.

  • Have you ever tried playing along to Steve's drums, or Barney's guitar?

He may not be the greatest vocalist live, but so what?

  • i love some new order but it's when they play live that you see what a bad singer bernard sumner is

  • I love the hair! How many guys out there went to their barber and asked for a "Barney cut"???

  • The greatest band ever?

    By far yes!

  • I would give pretty much anything to have been at this gig but would only have been 14-15 at the time. Remember seeing this when it was originally broadcast though and it blew my mind. 'Sunrise' is for me the greatest ever New Order song. Amazingly underrated, and why they don't play it live nowadays is beyond me.

  • The greatest band ever.

    Long live New Order.

  • Yeah I was there too - can see myself being bounced around in the moshpit! I remember it was ridiculously crushed that night as they went way over the fire limit in a desperate attempt to make some money at the bar. I remember the TV camera guys getting very annoyed with the crowd bumping their cameras before the band came on. Not as bad as 83 though when they were pulling unconscious girls out of the front row...

  • Me neither!

    just amazing =D

  • Absolutely tremendous!

  • ha! i was there! and i've just spotted myself down the front with a VERY dodgy blue checked shirt on! i even taped this gig with a MASSIVE cassette player i snook in!

  • Ha, Ha, HA...think i might of been behind you at some point...did you stay for the second half of the gig.....awesome gig top tune !! CFC.

  • excellent stuff

  • another rare footage awesome

  • Me neither!

  • Wow, I´ve never seen a NewOrder perfomance in the Hacienda!!!
