Well Bernard could have spoke to Hooky instead of him and Steve trying to carry on without telling him which they both did which is a bit fuckin sly they can never ever be New Order without Hooky ... arent Bad Lieutenant dreadful?..sorry BAD
no shame in enjoying a bit of Huey Lewis, but it is true that they don't compare to New Order. NO was just before my time and I wasted much of my teenage years with Nirvana, Oasis, REM and Radiohead. I'm starting to make up for that now
I was at this gig too - as usual they played 4 songs and fucked off. Brilliant yes - lazy and petulent? you bet. Still love everything they are and have been.
The hacienda will always be alive in manchester, Cheers Tony, although I cant believe they turned it into fucking flats. Fuck off you money grabbing bastards.
Amazing - I remember seeing this in 1985 on the Old Grey Whistle Test and countless live performances by New Order I attended after this. On this day when Anthony H Wilson died I think this as a great tribute to the man - god rest his soul.
Wow, what just happened? Has the Hac vanished? No, it contains toffs with more money than sense...EITHER FLATTEN IT OR REBUILD IT TO ITS FORMER GLORY...STOP TOYING WITH MY SENSES!
My first ever Gig was to see N.O. at The Rotters Club, Doncaster 84, and only when I heard a bootleg many years later, did I conclude that they are Peter Hook and three talentless geeks. Hooky holds the attention, but those vocals are dire.
I would give pretty much anything to have been at this gig but would only have been 14-15 at the time. Remember seeing this when it was originally broadcast though and it blew my mind. 'Sunrise' is for me the greatest ever New Order song. Amazingly underrated, and why they don't play it live nowadays is beyond me.
Yeah I was there too - can see myself being bounced around in the moshpit! I remember it was ridiculously crushed that night as they went way over the fire limit in a desperate attempt to make some money at the bar. I remember the TV camera guys getting very annoyed with the crowd bumping their cameras before the band came on. Not as bad as 83 though when they were pulling unconscious girls out of the front row...
ha! i was there! and i've just spotted myself down the front with a VERY dodgy blue checked shirt on! i even taped this gig with a MASSIVE cassette player i snook in!
andiv1968, i was there ,lookin at the camera about 1:30, great times my friend

I was listening to Huey Lewis at the time.
Somebody should have just run me over with a New Order's tour bus. It would have been the right thing to do.
