@kawa7900 OK let's take the ZX12's engine apart and see: it has a bigger throttle body, higher compression, shorter stoke engine so it can pull harder at high rpms, it's uses higher octane gas, wider header pipes with 4-2-1 exhaust with is the best combo for power, and it's lighter. I'd say the ZX12 was made to beat the busa at top speed.

I think these videos where they say the zx-12 or Zx-14 is faster are so stupid. Its proven that the Hayabusa is faster and its been proven time after time. Journalists don't say it just to say it. God it pisses me off.

@lupismike There's a list on the web of all of the magazines in Europe which tested the two side by side and out of about 22 mags, only two or three reported that the 'Bus was faster & that was on top speed by one or two mph! The 'Bus got so much hype from Bike (Suzuki monthly) magazine and a couple of others because it tested 2 mph quicker on top end that everybody overlooked the 12R. THe 12 is the superior bike in acceleration, handling, usability & looks, but a bugger to work on. Pete
i have a zx12 with power commander full power.the clock goes to 230.iv done just over 220 with the clock.realistically thats probably 200ish in real speed.wouldnt want to get off it at that speed

The busa won where it counts, in sales worldwide. It ran off of 89 octane gas, had more storage room and was faster (0-100) where people normaly ride at.
Who gives a toss about sales, and why does it matter so much, I prefer the zx,its better looking, comfier for a tall person like me and its great to ride. I'm sure plenty of people prefer the busa.

I have rode both and prefer the busa, it felt more planted at high speed, better feeling from the streering and had more torque. The zx12 was easier to go into corners, felt lighter, explosive power @9000 rpm and awesome head lights. Even I have to admit one of the best bikes kawasaki ever made.

The 12 aces the busa every where except mileage and comfort..
But the busa is better on the 1/4 as it is lower and longer.Still an excellent bike for all purposes.
