"The Plague of Allegiance", was an excellent portrayal of the way many stubborn, ignorant, and bigot Americans behave towards other cultures. It would not surprise me at all in the least bit if a scenario like this actually occured, is occuring, or will occur. Stereotyping and prejudices are terrible tragedies that occur all over the world, for the sake of change and betterment. It reminds me of when Obama's campaign conveying "change", but only if we adhere to their standards.
holy...that was a shocking video to me. i would cry like a baby if i had to cut my hair it's real long and i take so much pride in it. the only time i fully cut my hair off was when i was little and it was because my grandpa died.
Dont know where exactly in the world this happens but I live in an area of the world where you dont have to sacrifice your beliefs to be who you want to be in life. Its a choice yea but this seems to put a dark veil over who we chose to be in life. You dont have to sacrifice being native over being sucessful in life. Go to school and determine your own destiny. Poor image of and portrayal of natives.
@7863547Hahaha. Yeah they teach this in history lessons around the country. Native History has been bypassed many times and if you do look in todays books and at the cirriculum that is taught you find our histories are limited to a few pages in a book written by others who havent a clue of what or where or who we are. History and sociology have nothing to do with the comments I made. And like i mentioned before I myself dont make sacrifices to be native. Its my cultue, my Identity.

"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases."
A real good video that shows just one of the many abuses that are forced upon First Nation Peoples for modern day survival. The atrocities go on and on. 5*
wow...i also cut my hair when i started my new job. i never saw it like this, until i see another do the same. after a year, my hair is still less than an inch long.
A self-serving interpretation of the first amendment not only compromises Indians, but it mocks America as a whole. Indian belief systems are ancient. Much older than the racism that oppresses us.
The first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
It is clear that no one should EVER be forced to bow down to a corporation that asks us to give up our beliefs, yet America constantly makes us choose.
Im interested in this....i've never acted...but i get bunch of compliments on how i could be a great actor..And if it was even possible..i'd love to start out like this...these kinds of videos...Videos about our culture..videos that should be shown...videos that could probably change something
Hey congrats on the project. It's an awful experience encountered by many Natives and represents the hyporcrisy of this country.... keeping spreading the truth! Steve did a great job, I always knew he wanted to be Dine.
That was great, absolutely Great!!! Get me a contract.... NOW. The acting is Great, absolutely Great! What terrificly wonderful young children... and who's the babe, gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. The Crazedcritic has spoken.

@DEADEYECHINO if you don't know where this happens, you must have skipped your history and sociology classes - or had poor teachers.

A really good movie to open our eyes.
That shows one of the usual disgusting ways to annihilate an Ancient Culture and a People self-esteem..
Really America still fears you..
Thanks so much NavFilmer..I also appreciate to see my dear friend Nick co-starring!*****

The truth is the truth.
Great message about assimilation and heritage destruction.
Added it our Turtle Island project Native American heritage play list.
