a JB3 335 will keep up if not beat a stock IS-F!! JB3 335's are running high 11's trapping 120+ and stock IS-F"s are only hitting low 12's trapping 115mph. Thats with the JB3 chip only!! Add some bolt ons and racing gas and the 335 wins hands down.

@damwhodat3 wonderful, a modified 335i will beat a stock ISF. hold the presses! What you also fail to realize is you cannot determine which car will win in a ROLL race by using quarter mile figures. Yes, a high 11 second 335i will beat a low 12 second ISF in the quarter mile, by definition, but roll racing is a different story, and it depends on what MPH you race to from a roll.

Stock vs stock, the ISF will beat the 335i undoubtedly, but the 335i with $3k in mods can easily have more whp than the ISF, M3, or RS4 (413whp vs 350whp). More whp and lower drag coefficient means it can attain a higher top speed. Turbo cars like the EVo, STI, Supra and 335i are cheap to make powerful; therefore, they are pure tuner's cars with the sky as the limit.. Plus IS-F is considered the worst out of the M3, C63, RS4, IS-F price range by many car magazines.

you can't only go by dyno's. Putting more WHP/WTQ doesn't mean the car will always go faster. The hp/tq changes depending on what gear and speed you are in on the road. The dyno's don't tell you everything about a car how it will perform against another car with a different drive train. You only know whp/wtq, you are a newb... not smart. IS-F will start to pull on jb3 souped up 335i at speeds from high 120s or 130s. Owned..

Last weekend I sat in a ISF while my friend drove and raced my other friend in a brandnew M3... It was about a quarter mile and the ISF had him by half a carlength... This is reality, and its accurate if you compare it with both of the cars statistics.

Bottom line is if you buy a BMW your gonna needa have some super warrenty. My friends brandnew M3 came with a tail light not working. My other friends 2008 BMW 335XI engine locked up with only 3,000 miles on the clock. Lexus > bmw

Not really not at all. M3 is like a 4.0 with 414 HP maybe? at a high RPM of like 8000 Something? to achieve that? ISF does 416HP at like 6000 RPM. Ive seen them go head to head too. ISF is faster and a better car overall. It acheives better MPG too.

my brother has an is350 and it barely does 0-60 in 5.5 so i dont kno how it can compete with the 335i. The 335 is clocked at 5.2 0-60, with good shifting you might get it at 5 seconds flat. Neither 335i nor is350 is competition for an ISF or an m3 or any of these cars built specifically for performance.

if you search on youtube you'll see a video of the IS-F vs the IS350 on the track, the IS-F did pull away but not as much as it did on the 335i which leads me to think the IS-F wasn't trying as hard when it raced the IS350 since the 350 competes with the 335i with similar speed. road and track magazine clocked the IS 350 at 4.9sec and the IS-F at 4.4 sec

cool. i've been thinking of joining the SCCA racing association over here but i didn't think my IS 350 was fast enough. now an IS-F, then we're talking. and with a 5.0 liter engine i bet there are some mods that can be done to push it into the 500+ hp range, of course that would void the warranty, and man lexus maintenance costs a lot. my first yr with my car it cost me over $1,200 maintaining it, plus i had to get a left front tire every year because of potholes at $300 a piece

I don't think it's a fair comparison IS-F vs. 335I. The IS-F is souped up IS built for performance and 335I is an everyday car. How about a souped up 3-series a M3 vs. IS-F that's a fair race. I think IS-F is an awesome performer but M3 is yet to be dethroned. It's not just acceleration it's the handling, styling, comfort and engineering excellence. Don't think I'm dissing Lexus either they manufacture amazing cars.

Styling: Entirely Subjective so that's a moot point

Comfort: IS-F wins. Almost threw up riding shotgun in the M3, and the seats of the IS-F are made with a finer grad of leather than the Rolls-Royce Phantom (that's what the Lexus GM said)

Engineering Excellence: IS-F wins, 8th gears for one, 100ms upshifts.

It comes down to what your personal preference is. They are both great cars.

However it seems overall everyone's personal preference weather it be talk amongst friends or professional reviews by automotive enthusiasts in car magazines it seems the 3-series and/or M3 is always on top of the list. I've noticed that too that most magazines do prefer the M3 since it has been the favorite for many years. Maybe I'm partial to lexus since I own an IS350, but I drove the IS-F and I could not stop grinning. The sound you hear when you pass 3,600 rpm is definitely worth the test drive.

The problem with all these magazines you see reviewing this cars, is that they all seem to be biased towards handling. And handling on the city aint shit, noone ever takes their car to the race track and everyone knows straight lines is what matters most, still, they seem to be biased towards fuckin overrated BMW.
