As a physicist, I;m afraid I am going to disappoint you. The toilet water direction thing is not true.

It's all about something called Coriolis effect, which is true, but for much bigger systems. Like weather cyclons. On the north hemisphere they rotate anti-clockwise, but in Australia they are clockwise.

But on toilets ansd sinks the force is so small that small geometric irregularities have much bigger effect.
