I was just diagnosed with stomach cancer yesterday. It has spread to my lymph nodes and ovaries. I have a 21 cm mass that has taken over my ovaries. I meet with a new oncologist in 2 days. They say I'll start chemo soon. I don't want to die. =(
My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer on March 17th 2010. The oncologist gave her a year or less. Our family was devastated. Mom was gone twelve days later on the morning of March 30th 2010. This cancer needs more research dollars. Gastric cancer claims 1million lives a year worldwide, and it is on the rise. To this day it is still unbelievable that she is gone.
My Grandpa has been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer just a week ago. He is going to start cheamo tomarow. He seems perfectly healthy in everyway but the doctor gave him 6 months. This seems like a nightmare
My father died of this cancer two years ago on 24th May 2008. He was only 55. The chemos did nothing to stop the disease from spreading through his entire body. And about six months after diagnosing it, he was dead.

I am completely surprised that it is the #2 cause of cancer death worldwide considering how rare the doctors claim that Gastric Cancer can be. I don't think it is as rare as it is under identifield unfortunately.
