Hello, thanks for this. I have a recording of this arrangement, from 1976 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Is the ending cut off on your video? If you can post this in full, it would be great.
Hi Jeff - the language is Dutch. This concert came from a recording by the Netherlands TV Channel AVRO of the North Sea Jazz Festival which took place in the coastal town of Den Hague.
I agree, as she says in the intro, that as a jazz fan one should know "Green Dolphin Street." I fell in love to her "Don't Ever Leave Me" and have been a fan ever since.
Miss Carmen takes her time...and she ain't playin with that band, cause she would cuss them out in a minute. This is nice. RIP Carmen, you are loved still!
Well, I'll definitely keep watching. There can never be too much Carmen MacRae. I'm hoping someone posts her singing "NY State of Mind."
BTW --it was on a college campus that I saw her -- a lot of kids in their twenties in attendance, hearing her for the first time and being blown away by seeing this consummate jazz artist. I was in my forties and had been a fan of hers since I was a teenager. It was gratifying to see new fans being born.
So glad to find this. One of my all time favorite singers. Saw her perform in the 1980's -- she was fabulous. Good to know things like this exist so people can still see this wonderful performer.
My thoughts entirely. If I could get my video transfer system to behave itself I might be able to get more uplifted from this fine lady. Keep watching.
wowie. i saw her in '80. she was out of this world great! and she dressed better than this. i've since collected about all her cd's and can't decide if she is my fave or shirley horn. doesn't matter. thank god for both.
Other than a bad cold/frog, she sang right over it.. LOVE THIS ONE

I love the tempo on this and that's it swing through the entire form, not the common latin thing over the bridge.
