  • talent with a capital T. Whether it's Jimmy Mills, Cody Kilby, Andy Leftwhich.... it's amazing how Ricky always seems to fine the finest talent for his band

  • I LOVE it!

  • He makes that fiddle cry. Incredible

  • great sound, top musicians, fantastic feeling.

  • 100 times better than that rap crap now days.

  • Amazing, outstanding, wonderful! This joint recording with the Boston Pops is an eternal classic in itself. Uncle Bill Monroe must be proudly smiling from up above certain that he has the best heir anyone could ever want.

Mr. Skaggs is an asset and a just pride of all humankind. Bravo, standing up!

  • WOW Andy Leftwich is AMAZING! All of the musicians are. So smooth!

  • Jim really kicks it into overdrive!! Plus one of the nicest guys you'll meet.

  • great playing and great upload, luv R.S.'s intro. many thnx ! :)

  • I wish I could play half as good as Cody....

  • This is so good. It's some of my favorite kind of music.

  • Is that John Williams on flute?

  • noit is not john williams

  • I love this tune =)

  • One of my favorites

  • The best - and it's an Irish jig if I ever heard one.

  • No one can make that fiddle sing like Andy Leftwich!! Absolutely amazing!

  • Hah, Good ol' Spencer, Iowa. Spencer born and raised. I don't like Bluegrass that much, but this song is pretty alright.

  • This is great! I was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa. Nice job from a great musician!

  • thanks for sharing, needed that tonight.

  • WOOO! I'm from Spencer!!!

  • All the way from Newport News,VA... nice little jam !! Spent time as a little girl in Primghar and yes, I am a graduate of the University of Okoboji. Peace ya'll !!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from spencer. It's OK. Love B. Pops.

  • this is awesome!! i'm from spencer, iowa!!! this song is amazing i LOVE it!

  • If your feet don`t move to that its cause your either dead or paralyzed.

  • Love this tune! Bluegrass at its best!

  • "just can't top picky ricky, and the Kentucky thunder!"

  • georgiaroadgeek wrote; "Another great "roadgeek tune" for traveling. Gotta add it and "Highway 40 Blues" to the "Roadgeek iPod". Again, freakin' sweet!!! :)" - you say you are 44 and from Georgia. You ought to know better than talk about great blue grass music and Ricky & The Thunder that way. You sound like a teenager that just discovered blue grass .. Bill Monroe is rolling over in his grave!!!!!

  • Another great "roadgeek tune" for traveling. Gotta add it and "Highway 40 Blues" to the "Roadgeek iPod". Again, freakin' sweet!!! :)

  • Ricky Skaggs is such a great Bluegrass legend. Him along with Kentucky Thunder sound absolutely fantastic. Even with the Boston Pops Orchestra this song is really great. Thanks for posting.

  • Brilliant, brilliant, Brilliant!

Leave it to a visionary like Ricky Skaggs who's fought like crazy his whole life to put bluegrass music on the map, to meld it with the Boston Pops - and still make you say: "Wow".

(And they may neither be God nor the Devil.. perhaps from another planet and a civiliztion light years ahead of our own.)

    Either way.. it's nice stuff.

  • Nice Irish Jig!!!

  • This banjo solo is unbelievable!

  • reminds me alot of the banjo in kentucky mandolin of bill monroe

  • @CRAWF0RDBURNS1 Damn right! Jim Mills is the freakin' man, and this break sure pulls out a lot of his drive.

  • ricky breaks ankles about 1:43...

  • That fiddle player could very well be God... Or Satan. He's probably Satan.

  • ...or just an insanely sick fiddle player. Must be one of the three.

  • LOL

I laughed extremely fucking hard when I read this. Do you pick?

  • I heard Ricky say that he was concerned that after Bill Monroe died there would be no one to pick up the torch of bluegrass. Myself, I think the torch has been passed.

Phenomenal Job there Mr. Skaggs, and you too, quantumdave.

His players are so awesome and yet they are so young. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have talent like that in your 20's.

  • yeah cody is only 27 or28 and can play mandolin and fiddle. cody is like 27 or 28 and can play guitar, and mandolin.

  • I'm amazed not that much by his playing as by his level of improvising. I think anyone in that orchestra could play his parts , but to improvise like that you really need different kind of practise and a lot of tallent

  • thats so great! probably my favorite song ever

  • Awesome!
