    /watch?v=ropSMHl4dNg

  • tio eres el p-to maestro me hiciste llorar y me desconsertaste por un momento, la cancion no seguia la usual letra,

its him zack comdom or not i cant tell ?

  • wow...... Final Fantasy got +45 cool points!!!

  • but zach composed the music

  • @weirdo968 Owen actually composed all of the string arrangements for The Flying Club Cup. He also helped Zach re-arrange the entire instrumentation for the album.

  • Wait, did he screw up the lyrics of the second verse?

  • wait...wtf. did owen write cliquot on the new beirut album or what...it sounds like zach singing it...im so confused. this is a song from final fantasy's "he poos clouds"........damn will someone explain pls.

  • augh nvm. im stupid and on illicit substances...this is a beirut song.

  • well zach wrote the music, owen wrote the lyrics AND is the one singing it on the flying club cup (i think zach is doing the backing vocals?)

  • correct.

  • I had heard that Owen wrote the lyrics/melody to this song before I ever heard the song, so I was really surprised to hear that he actually sings on the version on Beirut's album! He's fantastic.

  • go to blogotheque website....this and all beauty lay there.

  • chilling

  • sometimes beauty outstrips everything, the homosexual content loses relevance (not that i'm homophobic, rather mysthantropic...), this surely is beautiful and tickles the emotion and heart strings of all beasts.

  • it's sung from a female's perspective. It's the story of the veuve cliquot (cliquot widow) who popularized the wine of her deceased winemaker husband.Basically its a song about alcohol

  • is this a cover? do happen to know where I can find the original if so?

  • just read the box to the right, haha.

  • but did Beirut cover it from someone else who extracted it from literature?

  • no it is actually about a struggling gay couple during WWII somewhere in Europe, i forget exactly where.

  • I could listen to this song all day. It's so pretty.

  • beautyful

  • Quoted from Owen Pallett ( aka Final Fantasy)

"It's not a cover it's a co-write. Zach wrote an instrumental and gave it to me and I wrote the melody and lyrics. I haven't heard the finished version and didn't even know it was called Cliquot until I read this post"

  • Very cool. I swear, everything that Owen touches turns to gold. He even does the best remixes around.

  • Sounds like the same guy who sings on the album version (pretty sure it's not Zach)

  • It is the same guy!

  • this is definitely the beirut song. i just got the album

  • beautiful..whatever it's called..thanks, Flosega!

  • no actually it's not, the tracklist of the leaked version of the beirut album is wrong - look for a live version of "the penalty" on youtube and see for yourself !

  • Splendid.
