@epcracker8 exactly right, there are some gigs that i dont use them, i tend to use them in the studio to control the wash a bit, but you NEVER want to tighten them to much. that is just asking for cracking. though i would at least put a wing nut on it, though if the cymbals never fly off then......... awesome!!!! lol. dude the song, recording and playing sounds great!! keep it up!!!!!

@epcracker8 actually cymbal filts and sleeves help your cymbals last alot longer than they normally do..keeps them from keyholing

So.. you get more tone from the cymbals, and it loses the vibrations better so you prevent it from cracking.

And.. but its personal.. for me it feels better to play.

@spikeman23 Hes def. emio. I also took off the top felts and wingnuts. For some reason, on my cymbals I felt it let them breathe better. It also lets me hit the bells easier.

@TheLt2323 If you don't put an felts on, then the wing nut usually isn't on either and you get more cymbal movement and better resonation. Just take a look at Steve Jordan(the drummer for the John Mayer trio) it works extremely well for him and he is one of the most innovative drummers today.
