To me Carlin is a product of his emvironment. He was a left-leaning guy because he saw how the system had been rigged to favour the wealthy at the expense of the poor and middle class, and that commercialism had taken over America. He wasn't one of those braindead people who through if you could wipe the slate clean, socialism was the way to go. He saw the market as good, but not when injected by corporate and government collusion. The right to home and health might change people's priorities.
He is completely right. The thought of meaningless choices and pseudo freedom are a disgrace to what the founding fathers of this country had in mind. I'm almost positive when the Bill of Rights was constructed the freedom of choice wasn't thought to be "Do you want fries with that?" I was feeling totally and completely at peace until the very last split-second when Hannity's smug, condescending face momentarilly popped up on the screen. Quite frankly, it scared the fuck out of me. Nonetheless, thank you SO MUCH for posting this. George Carlin is a legend, and inarguably deserves that title.
