@adamjohnable I know why you would initially come to this conclusion, but think about it: There are a lot of choices that children can't make, because they are children. Seems to me they have too many choices as it is, and need to have some limits set. They should not be able to set dress standards anymore than they would set curriculum guidelines, school hours, etc. The do have rights, but their rights shouldn't supercede the right of adults to set guidelines.

I see nothong wrong with that uniform you could lose the cap,those shorts would be great for the warm weather fine and short up on the thighs with ankle lenght socks.All primary school boys should wear tham during the warm mounths.

They should pull their socks up straight and get a haircut. I started school in England in the early 50s and all the way through until I was 14 I wore that kind of uniform. It was normal, dam cold in winter but I was proud to wear it. As for the commentator below who suggests its kinda gay. Through the 60s, 70s and 80s, all guys wore short shorts and it certainly wasnt kinda gay. Today, ideas have changed or is it, maybe, that the fat male slobs prevalent now cannot wear such attire.

Hiya Sorrelita. I went to an all boys school of about 980+. I can only remember one boy who could be described as Fat. In hindsight, it was probably not his fault, poor kid, he was ribbed awfully. An all boys school was great. The planning for it I suppose was good but, just up the road and around the corner, was an all girls school. We were very naughty, especially in the Fish & Chip shop at lunchtime. Never mind about fat male slobs. What about the fat females I see waddling about.

Yes very fat women too...I knew one girl who was slightly overweight (a real woman I suppose in a volumptuous way) very attractive but none of the boys 'liked' her because she wasn't the normal slim of the rest of us...How things have changed :)) ,,,I think it became with the fast food chains coming into Britain in the middle 60s...no one had to diet back then

It's not what you look like ... It's who are & I mean that. Remember the old adage ... you cannot tell a book by its cover. Anyway ... umm ... which ever, I think she was not fat in G & S. She was pregnant in later programs I seem to remember ... then and only then ... she was porky :)

Quando eu estudei em colégio pago tinha uniformes mais ou menos igual a esse shortinho azul meias 3/4 brancas e camiseta do colégio as meias tinha sempre q estar no mínimo um dedo abaixo do joelhos eu gostava muito era d++, ai por motivos financeiros precisei sair do colégio e fui pra uma escola do estado você podia ir de qualquer jeito parecia escola de bandidos era muito ruim.

Sempre me disseram q o uniforme é o cartão de visita se a empresa é boa você começa olhando pelo uniforme.

When i was at prep school, from the ages of seven to eleven (which was up untill 1999 i think) we wore shorts and pull up(knee length) socks all year round. It was pretty much exactly like in the video minus the cap.

kids that are at (what was) my prep school still wear shorts and pull up socks.

I never have wore anything like that before. Infact, im now at a stage (where I moved school a few months ago) where I dont need to wear a uniform anymore.
