Thank you for posting a priceless recording.

Odpisał mi: dziękuję, to robi pomoc moje smutki.
Why is it, he is never quite present and upright -- but ever crooning in some room off the next room, as if he was in some speak-easy, an opium den, perhaps, or some salon, a tete-a-tete- chambres, maybe colonial, maybe Morocco/Algiers, officer's mess; he's so silky smooth, he could turn sleeze into fashion and sell it on the Chanselise.
You're too late. Where were you when I was last in Buenos Aires? I feel assleep in the park and woke up with spots on my eyes....! I think the Argintinian sun is ruthless with pink Irish flesh....! And by the sound of it, you're as good!!!!
Funny how the tenor voice style was still popular in Europe at this time, when the conservative reaction had resulted in the annoying "swing" style. I guess this type of romantic music was deemed too "femme" by 1935..
Seems like Europe always has more taste than the USA. The same thing happened when the disco backlash occurred in the USA in 1980, the Europeans continued making good disco records. :)
I think it was regarded as 'decadent' by both pope (Pacelli) and prince (Franco, Mussolini and Hitler). And without sarcasm, have a listen to Gene Autry or Tex Ritter(especially on HIgh Noon) for quite authentic and beautiful balads....

I'm not talking about Walter Pidgeon/greer garson's Irish rose...I'm talking about the TRUE IRIS ROSE.
