Patton is brilliant, talent, genius, the best singer of his time, NOT ONLY BY HIS VOICE, BUT FOR HIS MADNESS AND VERSATILITY. Is at stake in opposing styles, and it is successful. THE MUSIC IS MUCH BETTER WITH MIKE PATTON.
Not only is this man Extremely talented.....so easy on the EYES...."If what u want is what u need" Get hither Mikey...This female doesn't breed but she would bare his children in a heartbeat....Nuff said.... forget Any other Musician for charisma and presence...this is the ultimate Lounge Singer version of Satan himself.
There has NEVER been an artist as versatile as Patton. The man is a genius. I love a lot of what he does but there are definitely things he's done I can't stand to listen to. But that's just exemplifying exactly what I just said. His versitility and ability to step into and out of every conceivable genre of music. Love him or hate him...no one can dispute his acheivements within the music industry or his artistic talents.
Patton + Sepultura = the most scary thing ever - just hear "Mine" to now what I'm talking about, sorry you wo't find it on youtube, search for Sepultura B-sides.
@salvopulptruck Not just Zappa, The Beatles did it too. As far as I love Faith No More, and they were pretty versatile, they weren´t the first band including more than one genre in a single album AT ALL.
@theinmortal6 , consider your remarks the beatles were kinda shit to start with too may screaming girls eh,only studio sounds plugged them in. Zappa's children wound be better to change their name than get chaced downj
All of you commenting dissenting maynard/patton fuck off because you don't know anything about either of them so shut the fuck up, you only know their music not their lives...
True, but to in reality, mike and maynard are friends, and mutual fans. Even tho i really am not a fan of tool, you gotta respect both artists regardless. Even if maynard is a preachy, hateful, bi-sexual weirdo, i still respect his contribution to 90s alt rock. In any case, Helmet's better. ;)
Tool is one of my favorite bands, but I personally think that FNM are a couple steps above Tool. Why? Because FNM was THE first band to create the genre CROSSOVER, and to incorporate many different styles in a single album (The Real Thing). However, Angel Dust ismy favoriye and a masterpiece. The 90s era is my favorite, and I love Helmet(old stuff). My favorite Helmet's album is Strap It On! What a fuckin riff the song Distracted has!
Chill the fuck out dude! I didn't say Tool sucks or bla bla bla. In fact, Tool is one of my favorite bands, but I personally think that FNM is a couple steps above. That's all!
Instantly recognizable as Mike Patton's voice, I like it! I heard my sons playing FNM in the early 90's and I loved it. Needless to say he stopped liking FNM cause I did, But who cares?
@Zanza007 This was on a Sepultura album with the new vocalist but this was an insturmental and they had Pattton do vox over it, he did two more songs with Sepultura, MINE, and PROCUR O CARA, on ROOTS he's on Lookaway... you hear him do vox for Dillinger Escape Plan EP? He does a pop album, his new album is Spanish, Fantomas IS INSANE, with DAVE LOMBARDO
that song feat Mike Patton and Kodo (The flute section of "Kamaitachi" performed by Kodo is heavily based on that in "The Hunted" which appeared on Kodo's Ibuki album and was originally composed for the soundtrack of the movie of the same name. The song "The Waste" (a vocal version of Kamaitachi featuring Mike Patton on vocals which appeared on the single b-sides) is featured in the movie Freddy vs. Jason and its soundtrack.
This particular song was on the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack, which was actually a really good soundtrack. It had In Flames, Slipknot, Sevendust, Chimaira and similtar bands when Nu-Metal was at it's height. I think the album was released in either 2003 or 2004.
This is crap - kamaitachi is far superior. I often wonder of Patton has any talent - what I heard of Tomahawk's native american themed album was interesting, but apart from that he's rubbish. Faith no more were pretty dull after Jim left.
@grungeluvr Jus a lil addition: from his death grunts to italian opera he may not be the most famous and on the top 40 bull shit but deffinetly the most talented
dude.. actually listen to mike pattons projects (e.g. Mr. Bungle) before you make such a complete fool out of yourself.. there's more talent in one of mike pattons pubes than there is in your whole body..
he usually strikes me as a self indulgent twat whose only talent is creaming most of the time, but what I have heard of Tomahawk is good, and I forgot to mention Mr Bungle - also good, and he is a good singer when he needs to be. I probably gave the wrong impression - I wasn't just 'trolling'.
All of Mike Patton's stuff to me has been hit or miss, from Faith No More to Peeping Tom. It seems like there are a few tracks on every CD, and some that just don't jive with me. I guess in a way that's a compliment to him because he varies in style so much from CD to CD, but I respect him as someone with talent, just not one of my favorites.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I agree. What I heard of Tomahawk's anonymous album sounded quite interesting, but I think he is very overrated and rather self indulgent...rather appropriate that he 'sung' on John Zorn's album once - from what I have heard I could say the same about him
