I'm pretty much a metalhead (say what you will) but I recently discovered PJ... Wow... just wow. I honestly never though I'd find another artist that wasn't heavy or extreme that I could listen to regardless of my current mood. PJ smashed that thought to bits when I heard "The Whore's Hustle...". The more of her I listen to, the more I fall in love.
@Axellson Im kind of the opposite I suppose; I love stuff like PJ (or as my friends call "weird music") and I'd never thought I'd like heavy metal but I ended up being a massive BFMV and Metallica fan lol
@MarshmallowsAndBlood good to hear. it's always good when someone can step outside their "comfort zone" in music, be it in creating or just listening. cheers.
No matter what you call it, it's still "ripping off" an artist. Just because a bunch of people do it doesn't it mean it's not a stealing someone else's music and using it for their own purposes.
@stephieeross Oh, I think she does. She makes music with little redeeming quality, and I'm being generous to say she makes music. If what you're saying is Gaga is an icon in some communities where Katy and Bieber aren't, then you're right there. However none of them has the integrity of PJ Harvey, not by a long shot.
@nimergas80 To your ears, but I can say without hesitation that those who appreciate the concept of this album, and the style she chose to use for these songs, as well as PJ's once again pushing the limits of her sound, this is a masterpiece. One of her best albums ever.
seen this album advertised all over london underground so i've come to youtube to check it out, utterly disappointed, what the fuck is this shit music?
i actually like it. i was afraid with all those "war" lyrics reports about it being a political talking album, that it would suck. but its sweet and special. pj is a genious.
As much as I love this new album am I the only one who somehow misses her pre-White Chalk style of singing? I know that human voice changes and she is an AMAZING singer no matter what but I like her deeper voice better.

@killjojo Yeah, and T. S. Elliot using "London bridge in falling down" in his Wasteland is a rip off as well.
