They're playing it a little more cherry than original, but hey, they're both young and full of life. Mood of a song really goes according to your age so they have every right to improv this song to be a little more cherry. Plus, if they play it the same as erhu, it defeats the purpose of trying it on the violin and piano. Reinvent music.

it is the most beautiful song i've ever heard, but here the poor boy plays it ten times faster than it should be played, and it loses all its soul. also, piano can never substitute properly traditional chinese instruments, just like the vilin cannot substitute the erhu. very talented biy however

This composition is a chinese folk music player's stuff who's named "blind A BING"...about him it's quite a long story .Origin music is played by "er'hu",not violin.

He always plays piano. He needs more sound, and not very good quality.

He uses quite a lot of bow and plays fairly close to the bridge at the forte spots; it's not clear to me that he can get much more dynamics from his violin. Besides, the piece is rather reflective and sorrowful, so I think his dynamics is quite appropriate. As for quality, well, I'm sure it will come with age. :)
