  • she has really good pitch lol

  • sshheessh! thats good!

  • y does she look so pissed

  • Sick of all this grief about "They're only good because they're Asian". Honestly what a load of nonsense, they are good just because they work hard and consistently show the rest of the world how we are all lazy and show us what everyone is capable of.

Also, incredible performance and talent :)

  • i dont care that she is 9. and stop saying that asians are the best at playing musical instruments. all the best violinists arent asian. and even so they don't have a soul. this little chineese cunt made vivaldi sound so depressive that i actually wanted to kill myself.

  • @555dreadnaught that means nothing. i think she played it very well. so go hate somewhere else kay thanks :)

  • dame i'm 13 and even i cant play like that

  • Her mom must be one heavy duty "Tiger Mom"

It's easy for some to critic her performance but she is brilliant for her age and will grow into this very well!.

  • why they always gotta be asian....

  • Wow, pretty good. Pretty good co-ordination from the violin and piano. Cool that she kept her head even when there were noises being made during her playing (it can be nerve wracking when people cough or talked cause you don't know if they like your performace or and you tend to think the worst...)

I wish I could play as well as her (I don't since I don't practice violin other then during the lesson...)

Wishing her the best in her next competition.

  • It's my fifth year playing the violin, I I finally memorized all three movements!

  • she was just like me im nevous i always tske a so very quick bow and leave!

  • i can play this, performance tommorow, nervouss as helll :/

  • I'm learning this song now but i can't even get the first part right *SIGH*

oh by the way how long has she practiced this song

  • :)

  • I played this song in my 4th year of playing, and I trained to this video.

  • My self asteem for playing the violin has just taken a bit of a hit. I might be playing this piece for my grade 7, and I'm three years older than her, twelve.

  • @iamcalledcaroline hehe, dont worry, I'm 15, played for a total of... two or three years, and I'm just now learning it :P But I can guarantee that I wont be able to play as good as this video -__-

  • I myself wasn't that good when I passed that song.

  • To all of you who are sarcastic, you probably learned it in a day but not played well.

    Thumbs up if you agree:)!

  • pshh. 18 people must've thought the "dislike" button said. "dis-i-like"

  • this is 'the song that everyone knows', and its played beautifully.

  • @yeapyej Seriously, I practice 2 and a half hours a day and it took me a week to learn all 3 movements.

  • she was very good!! Nice playing:) I did this for this auditon thing called nyssma in NY at 13 and it was a level 4 out of level 6, and I got a 26/28, in the outstanding range, which is very good

  • My teacher always refuses to let me learn this cause she says its too common, but I really wish I could (she makes me play much harder vivaldi). But she says she might give it to me over the summer so...

  • @bnjypov I hope she lets you play this piece. It really is one of many favourites.

  • Ah.. Very good! Intonation was very fantastic, anyone who says it wasn't may not have the best ear. A tad bit slow, but I liked it.. This piece isn't the presto movement, we Violinists like to save those for last ;) lack of vibrato was actually very stylistic for that of a Baroque period piece. I hope you placed well!

  • Notes out of tune, tempo slow. This piece is so easy. I learnt it in a day, the whole three movements.

  • @yeapyej since you first have commented on this piece and every other video of this piece, and all of your comments are negative, why can't you show us you playing it? And btw, if you have played the violin in 10 years or so, ofc you play it good...

  • @yeapyej Boul shit, this girl is playing in perfect pitch, and a perfect tempo to a recorded studio version by David Nadian. Not to mention she is 9 at the time, and the switching in positionings were perfect. I doubt you learned all 3 movements in a single day unless you're just trying to look like a hard ass on the internet.

  • she was good for her age but not very good at articulation

  • I am learning that piece for solo and ensemble next year

That is a tough song, good for her!

  • Very good ! Fantastic ! Im also learning the piece right now and its not that easy to play!

  • Wow! That was excellent!

I'm learning this song now and it's so hard to get the dynamics right, but she sounded very nice. It looked easy for her...it's not an easy piece.

  • A few notes are out of tune....

  • that sound so good...... i wish i could play this as well as you =D

  • O.O wow thts awesome

  • very nice desde Barcelona

  • goooooooooooooooooooo!

  • good job !!

  • Did she won the competition?

  • 3rd place

  • @ltao what she is amazing

  • That person on the piano was ruining the piece

  • It is good... but, she plays like a robot...

  • @chuchinpumas81 most young asians are like this.

  • @chuchinpumas81 asian parents: i would know

  • Good. Need to work on interpretational attention to detail/rhetoric.

  • It seems that this girl doesn't mind if she's playing or not. Is she a robot? She has no expresions...

  • She's good for a 9-year old! She's a bit flat though.

  • ooh btw i also played thaat when i was 9 or 10 and got SOOOO nervoous! great work:D

  • hi! umm i was wondering if you could send me the music sheets or something because i lost some i had lol. thanks!:D

  • Fantastic! I'm learning this piece now and see Rachael play it so effortlessly gives me inspiration. And she's beautiful!

  • you are pretty good. Work on your violin f hole facing the audience. Very good for a nine years old kid

  • wow the girl gets a little golf clap after all that? tough crowd

  • Comment removed

  • The pianist knows how good she is,and so there is no need to succeed.

  • 9 years old?? i am 13 years old and now i finshed that ! i know another big talent in violin , 9 years old video but he is even more more more better : Tedi Papavrami

  • She's good! Check out my performance of this piece. Just click on "ruleout5000" (on the left) and click on the video titled "Concerto in A minor, first movement, by Vivaldi"

    I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!!!

  • she is very ugly... XD XD

  • @nirocola12 -- The point they added this video was to show the her wonderful talent, not so you can judge her looks. So what if she's not as pretty as anyone else? She didn't post this to be in a beauty competiton.

  • It was great all the notes sounded perfect but some of the eighth notes are supposed to be slightly staccato

  • @chickadeeonfire Yes. Needs a little more vibrancy and expression.

  • The confidentiality is in the talent.

    I surely value it.

  • Great intonation and vibrato!

  • i just learned this its great

    go vivaldi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    ^_^

    the dynamics are hard though

  • she is soo young and really really gud!!! nd ya i agree it would even a lil better if she used vibrato but than again she is only 9... its still great!!!=)

  • Dang girl!!! you would be 100 times better if you used arm vibrato!!!!!!! Song is still 100 percent wonderful!

  • This little girl has an amazing play. A PERFECT PLAY...she is only a child...She plays almost perfectly.

  • She plays perfectly in tune...what a talent!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not an easy song for a 9 yr old!!!!! Keep it up because you are truly amazing and will go FAR!

  • It needs to be louder. Like >:O

  • what book did you use? Or who was it edited by?

  • better than me, and im older than she is, definitely great!

  • i suc at this song

  • she is pretty good, but just look at her face, no emotions at all

  • @wietsel who cares

  • @nievesalegrebell Well if she plans on playing professional it be a tad bit odd if she stared at her fingerboard the whole time. Play with feeling, don't play like a robot programmed to play the song. Playing the violin is a form of self expression (:?

  • @Nukefuzion i play with feeling :) but i suck for a 17 year old lol

  • I think she plays very well for a 9 yrs old. Listen to the sound, and don't judge her music by the her facial expression. She looks very nervus, but isn't this her first competition? I have a 9 yr-old son who also plays this piece recently and his sound just couldn't compare with hers. Come on, they are kids. And let them be kids. Don't force them to pretend having so much complicate deep feeing about those master's pieces. They're great just be able to play it well at this age.

  • @trix094

Agree with you, these are only kids ,great they have a hobby like this ,I think they are wonderfull and rachael is very good ,she should be very proud to be able to play as well as this at her young age !!

  • oh c'mon meanies. she'd improve.

  • She'd be excellent if she only put feeling into playing this piece, if she doesn't then it sounds off..

Work on the young lady and you'll become an brilliant violinist.

  • Aw this is the suzuki rendition.

  • she may not or feel it....but listen to the tone quality ...stable and clean! thumbs up!

  • ...

  • ¿Is She A Robot? She Doesn't Feel It. :(

  • That's true. When I play this song with my violin y enjoy. This girl doesn't feel the music.

  • @Mois3s92 jajjjajajajajjaa XD its look like a robot

  • that's mean

  • show us how it's done

i hear webcams are cheap nowadays

  • Is the sound off, or is it just me?

    cute kid.

  • wowers, at ?? im okayish at this piece and im 12. but i play way worse then this girl hehehe..

  • she was really good! and for 9!

and the pianist looked like she had been accompanying too many peeps that day lol

  • @Fudgieownz322 agreed

  • @Fudgieownz322 ikr!

  • woow

  • aww so cute : )

  • ah-mazing~ i think you have a awsoome teacher...

  • very good!!

  • Very good for her age. She's better than most the violinists in my high-school orchestra! But not a piece she should be performing just yet...a little more practice on staccato notes, some feeling and more passionate movement and she will be AMAZING.

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have seen many if videos of this played and ur the best i belive

  • FANTASTICO! also good violin

  • magnifique!!

    verry verry good!!

  • very good!!!

  • Oh, she plays so nice...Keep it up!

I hope I could play that nice

  • sounds good!

  • PERFECT! I love this song she did GREAT!

  • why??

  • Comment removed

  • !!!exelent¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Viva Vivaldi! Viva Rachel!

  • Well done, keep up the good work

  • She's my daughter's best friend!

  • ppl, that is ]not called being bored face. that is your violin face. everyone has their own face when playing an instrument. lol, in my case, when I play the vio in, maybe she does need a teensy bit more feeling, besides that, GOOD JOB!!!in I stick my lip out. xD

  • she's a good violin player and can go far but she played mechanically like she has no feelings. this was my daughter's piece for her concert when she was i guess at this age but she played it with feelings.

  • shes good!

  • Amazing playing, though she looks like she's going to fall asleep. I wonder how she would sound if she wasn't bored out of her mind with the piece.

  • i love vivaldi. this girl is really good player, i was only 9 when i started the violin.

  • Wow she is talented

  • awesome...9 years old!!...she's good..and cute too....

  • not bad, but she looks a little bored playing it

  • you wish.

  • Aha.

And this is probably coming from some idiot who I bet can't even play twinkle twinkle little star on the violin.

  • wow. nice dynamics. :P

  • OMG!! awesome sound!!!

  • she has very good intonation

  • wow they don't believe me :S if you want me to give you more proof just ask. I'm not really a person that cares what people think of me, but I can't stand it when people say I'm a liar.

  • Amazing, Rachael! :)

  • suzuki method?...

  • yeah... i can play along with it so yeah...

  • I played this when I wa 8, and I won the competition :P, and I had been playing violin for 1 year.

  • fucking liar

  • actually, i'm playing this piece and i've been playing violin for 10 months

  • yea me to. i've been playing for 4 years. so shut up. STUPID BABY.

  • omg, how is she a liar? I'm playing this right now, and I've played for about eight months. Nearly perfected, too.

You wish she was a liar.

  • guys does it really matter what age you play it?

  • she's good...although, she lacks emotion in playing it..

  • She's just a kid. The fact that she can play this so well for her age is good enough. I feel the same way about kid trumpeters that can play "carnival of venice" or any major trumpet concerto incredibly well at 10-13 years of age, but that's just God-given talent(or the Mozart effect if mom played all classical music from the moment knew she was pregnant). Wait until she hits her teen and adult years, and she'll play the shit out of this piece like it was nothing.

  • i played this song last year when i was 13. and i must say i didn't play so good than she did. keep on doing the good work!

  • i am learning this song and i am 12

  • And you are still so young--jeez... Please never give up violin--you are going to be awesome. Now repeat after me:never, never give up.

  • wow your really really good :)

    keep it up.

wow your so mush better than i'am i'v been learning the same song for my rcm examination and it's taking me forever to learn. well anyways great job!

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work. You will at the top before you know it!

  • way to go!

  • Im 15 and Im learning it now! but Ill bet she's practising a hell of a lot more than I do ^^

  • Working on this song now. You just inspired a 33 year old :) Great job!

  • Very good sound on the violin. Keep up the good work.

  • She is good!

  • This is great! I'm learning to play this piece now, lol. She did a great job!

  • Very-very-very good!!!

    Very good!!!

    Respekt.

  • I hated learning this piece, it was friggin' hard...at least for me.

  • wow, great job! im currently on this song and ur doing so much better than me when i was around ur age. :)

  • Awesome job Rachel!!! =D

  • Great job, really !

  • This concerto is extremely difficult to play, but adults get kids to play this even though they are not capable of playing it correctly.

  • I don't know if I would use the words "extreme" and "difficult" to describe this piece. But, well, you have a point. Point taken. This is why I hate Suzuki, though.

  • lol i actually started on suzuki and the songs got sooo boring and i hated it i quit at book 4. I told my teacher "i don't wanna learn suzuki" then i started learning great songs such as 4 seasons, lalo symphonie espagnole etc :D

  • Exactly. You learned real music. Not Suzuki trash. "nuff said.

  • Yeah, some Suzuki pieces are not that interesting.

  • the lady playing piano does'nt look very happy

  • Ya! And she looks strict.

  • LOL

  • I can play this song and im in sixth grade.

  • i can play this song and i'm in fifth grade

  • It is not a song.

  • two peoplle at my school in my orchestra class play this song they worked rweally hard on it they are only in 6th grade my teacher taught them well.YAY mrs lawhorn!!!!! great job

  • her violin has a beautiful sound, and she has a nice vibrato.

  • wow!! its soo clean..lol..i dont play this well esp the second part and im like 3 yrs older than you! hahaha

  • WOW :O! Soo GOOD (L)

  • WOW

  • The thing with children is that when they first play music, it's very calculating... So of course you can tell that she's waiting and listening for what note comes next. I'm sure that will change over time, especially when they analyze the composers and put feeling into playing the music like how the composers played the piece.

Her movements are very rigid but it's a good foundation; quick fingerings and superb bowing.

  • its actually not that easy (when you first play it and when you play it really fast. When i play that fast part, i always messed up before when you have to skip strings.
