  • My friends have just participated in this musical...and I'm making a 'trailer' for their video. Can I please use this in it? (They had piano through the whole thing...and I'm trying to back them)

  • (side note:) -- this is probably the same as 25th or just as good. It must be the voices and choir and backing vocals that make it louder and more , epic as i say.

    Again...i love it

  • I LOVE THIS Instrumental! wish it was more Orchestral, like more epic... you know like in the 25th anniversary edition. It just was so powerful and moving!

  • May I use it for my cover?

  • Really nice

  • @kikiannixo thank you!

  • Love it.

  • @SH96films Thank you!

  • I am part of a DeviantART club known as the Les Mis Club. I would like to request that we use this song in an upcoming video were we have the club do the vocals. Thanks

  • @andwii Sure! no problem!

  • hey i need this for my english project! the project was to read a book(i chose les mis) and make a play out of it. I did, and i'm allowed to use 1 song and i chose this one...may i please use it? i REALLY need it.

  • Hi can I use this vid for my school's talent show?

    Tnx

  • @11lynnemarie sure! :)

  • Excellent work here..!!!

  • way to fast

  • @MizzSmileey no it is not most productions go slowly on this

  • I'd love to make a dutch cover of this song! The dutch musical is a little bit faster than the english one, so this is the only instrumental with the right tempo for me. Can I use it, please?

  • Hi! Me and My friends are intending on recording a song that we wrote called "One Loaf More" (it's about bread and it's to the music for 'One Day More') and then make a music video for it. I've had our song approved by Lucie Jones and Killian Donnelly from the current Les Mis cast in the West End (they loved it and thought it was hilarious) and now we are hoping to make a video for it. :) I was just wondering if we could use this backing track for our song, because it's THE BEST!

    Love Saskia x

  • @SalaskaLouise Wow that sounds interesting! Sure! If you would like, the tracks are available to download on AmazonMP3 or Amazon. If you live outside of the US, they are available for purchase through my estore. I will give you the link if you want!

  • @noahsbackingtracks I would also like to use this to sing for a teacher's retirement party w/ "One Day More" to go. How do I find this exact MP3 on Amazon? Could you send me more info and maybe the link? Thanks!

  • tempo is way too fast this is a slow melodic and powerful song

  • 3:04-3:08 seems a tad rushed

  • Yes of course! The mp3s are available on Amazon! Just search "Noah's Backing Tracks One Day More"!

  • aww.. you are so great! thanks for posting the whole of les miserables! you are a real blessing... :)

could you do the king and I? haha! i'm sorry if i'm asking too much. anyway, just an idea.. in case you reconsider... again, beautiful orchestrations! :)

  • I've read below that you're planning to sell these tracks, but I'm just interested in having a nice backing track for a simple fandub here on YouTube... Any chance I could use it solely for that purpose?

It's a gorgeous bit of work, honestly. I not only honor your talent, but your commitment as well :P

  • Sure, just please give me credit in the video as well as the description! :)

  • This is awesome! I wish we could make a few tracks of this and have people singing to it. I could sing Marius's track to a T.

  • That sounds really cool! Send me a message with more info! :)...

  • no problem, when you do work on act 2 are you going to include the curtain call music? you'de be the only one on youtube that has it in Karaoke form

  • Probably. I am selling the tracks on Amazon when I finish, so productions will be able to use them.

  • That's a very good idea you have there, and when I began directing my production of Les Mis I thought that would be possible, but it turns out they require a complete live orchestra for the production (the licensing company is very specific). And if you cannot have more than a few instrumentalists live, they sell you their own sort of "instrumental machine" which plays instruments digitally on the speakers.

  • Thanks, I didn't know that. The "instrumental machine" is called orchextra, which can be used to play in and missing instruments in the orchestra while staying with the conductor. Note that you will need a fairly competent keyboardist for it. What licensing company are you using? MTI?

  • Yep. Orchextra. I wasn't being as specific as I could've been. *blushes*

I don't know if I'm going to go with getting the orchextra, since I'm going to try to put together an orchestra soon. MTI, yes. I live in the states. I'm pretty sure that's the only company that supplies the licenses for Les Mis in the states.

  • There are to orchestrations available. I would highly recommend using the larger one. That is the orchestration that I used with these tracks. Also remember that besides the contrabass, the strings should be doubled up. They are currently using the orchextra in the West End production of Les Mis. I've used it before. If you need some help with the use of it, let me know...

  • Ah really? I didn't know that. Well, I'm not sure whether I'm getting the larger or the smaller... I'm going to receive what MTI is shipping us. I think it has four violin parts, etc etc. Doubling up is a great idea. I'll talk to our conductor about it.

Orchextra in the West End... who would've guessed? I saw it this summer. It was fantastic. Thanks! If I do have a question about it I'll be sure to message you. Thanks again!

  • Well actually, there's one violin part, one viola part, one cello part, and one contrabass part. There should be two players on the violin, viola, and cello parts. In the violin part, at some points you will see "two violins" and chords that one violin alone could not accomplish...

  • Oh and remember that if you double up on those three parts, you don't use keyboard 3... :)

  • Ah. I'm looking at it now and it just says "four strings." My mistake!

Awesome. I'll see how many string players I can get... I know of several local orchestra teams that I could advertise in... and I know a guitarist, drummer, and two keyboardists that are signed up.

By the way, I have a question about orchextra: You mentioned you'd need a skilled keyboardist. Is it hard to set up in an auditorium system? Would that person need computer skills as well?

  • Not too much knowledge, just the ability to hook up a sound system to the back. There's a demo on the orchextra webpage of mti.

  • any plans to do act 2? Incidently is the music for the Well scene w/ Cosette & Valjean included on your version (I haven't listened to all the tracks yet as my earphone jack on my computer is messed up (everthing comes out mono yet the cord is plugged in all the way

  • I am currently on an "Intermission", I will start act 2 sometime next week. The well scene is in track 13. The Bargain/The Waltz of Treachery. All of the tracks are currently in mono, so it shouldn't make a difference anyway. Thanks again...

    Noah

  • Have you actualky done the whole show? Because my drama school are looking for backing tracks of the whole show

  • I will be done with it by the end of the summer. The CDs will be available for purchase on Amazon. I require proper billing in your program.

  • GREAT JOB Noah! almost as good as the real show and WAY better then the orchestrations used for the Broadway revival

  • Thanks, Danny! In one of my other videos, there was a discusion going on about how the revival orchestrations SUCKED! Thanks for your support!

  • Ugh. Tell me about it. I'm still a bitter Mary over the whole affair--to take such a gorgeous, emotive score and turn it into shit for the revival is beyond me. There's nothing like the original orchestration. It's perfection!

  • Agreed! :)
