  • i have a dboys m4cqbr and i had the same problem but i fixed by raising the motor with the motor adjustment thing in the bottom of the grip of the gun btw i think dboys is a really good airsoft brand ive had the m4 for 1 1/2 years. people say that thers comes broken when they order it from airsoft gi and airsplat i bought mine at airsoft megastore . i think its the stores fault not the brand. thats what i have to say

  • My friend has this Dboy and basically its the same story every weekend with the problems.

First off it is a weak battery issue. You would definately need a higher voltage. (9.6v for 350fps+)

Second, that Dboy design is truly a POS so upgrade! Even after upgrading the battery it will still jam easily. We're using a 9.6v 2000mAh.

If you want bang for you buck look into ICS M4. Never jam (unjamming button), they're very solid, extremely easy to open (split gearbox), and shoot straight

  • this is the same thing that happened with my ak74 cm.048.. version.3 gearbox

idk how to fix it plz help

  • aww dude, basically ALL you had WRONG with that gun was that your BATTERY was too weak to pull the spring fully back. makes me feel so sad when people think their gun is totally broken and replace all the parts with ridiculous cost/take the gun to a "experienced" airsoft shop to repair and pay a horrible price for it and in reality the guys working there know absolutely nothing how to properly fix these guns.

  • @ASoftaaja Rookies :/ Poor gun.

  • Ware can I get airsoft guns

  • @SuperKingofkings01 Evike.com

  • @llXxKhaosxXll cool

  • This could be due to bad timing. Make sure the sector nub or sector chip is in the 1 oclock position. The teeth should start at the 9 oclock and end at the 3 o'clock position of a clock face.

  • To all Noobs at there! This happens when theres not enough force to pull back the piston. This can happen when the battery is really low, bad shimming or the spring is way too heavy for the gears or the motor.

  • I am having the same problem but when i reset the gearbox and I try to fire it does it again. The battery also heats up. The thin is I just installed a element low resistance wire kit and a bravo 8 mm ball Bering gearbox shell.

  • Here's what all of you guys with this problem have to do. Get the gear box alone and out of the gun then get a paper clip and bend the end to make a small L shape. Put it in the gear box through the motor hole and find the anti reversal latch and pull it towards you (at the same time use a screw driver to spin the gear the motor spins) and the POP!!!!! Every thing including the piston moves back into place and works great. I hope this helps all of you and peace!!!!!!!!

  • I have had so many issues with these damn cheap clones, especially jg and d-boys, Im just going to get a kwa or something.

  • OMG i have thhat same problem ! :(

  • i prefer G&G and KingArms

  • oh ya! i had a Dboys m4 ris. piece of junk. it was not reliable, freaking cheap metal, bad gear box and peq got annoying. easy fix buy a new gun and never get dboy's... anyways Good job on fixing the problem. i gave up on my gun.

  • @geochiu Thanks! Really guys, if you don't have time on your hands to learn to fix this, it isn't a project for you. Popping open the gearbox will cause all of the shims and gears to pop out forcing you to learn about how those work. The best thing to do, if you still can, is to return your D-boys. I love how it works now, but it's not a Dboys anymore...

  • @gustan you could just take the grip off and force the AR latch to pull back with like a screw driver.. so i wont mess up when u open it..

  • @geochiu i enjoy my dboys body XD i just gutten the thing

  • @qustan and @ddddduuuuusssss yea same thing happed to mine i checked the motor and the gearbox and adjusting th motor and i dosent fix and ive tried to use som rc 7.2 to see if if the motor would spin but it still wont pull back my spring so what should i do??

  • my motor turns but the gears dont. what could be wrong with it?

  • @ddddduuuuusssss Well, the gears are jammed. Look into gearbox dissembly tuts and check the shimming, oil, and look for any broken gears. But first, make sure it's not that the motor is too close to the gearbox (adjust with the screw at the bottom of the grip to raise/lower it until it shoots). If the above doesn't work, then this is possibly battery problem.

  • @ddddduuuuusssss Your motor has just become dis-lodged from the port, just unscrew the bottom off your grip, and push the motor back into place. The same thing happens to me all the time.

  • I think your gears Locked up your piston....youd have to take it apart to fix it and when you put it back together make sure everything is aligned properly.....search for videos that show how to put a gearbox back together correctly for help

  • one, release the gears. two, make sure your shim is in place for the motor height... your gun should be fixed... also dont listen to thereggiestone dont get a KWA AEG, KWA needs to stick to GBBs.

  • how did u get it fixed, having same probs, dang

  • Oh hey it's a Dboys. there's the problem. Get a KWA

  • @thereggiestone Um, yeah kinda. After replacing the parts, I would never give this gun away. But yah, Dboys is crap cept for the metal housing.

  • @thereggiestone haha thats how peolple solve problems in airsoft. they just throw money at it

  • charge the battery more.

  • My 400 fps DPMS pather m4a1 has the same problem and i tried putting a bigger fully charged 9.6v battery in it but still nothing. can any one help me?

  • what I usually do, is what you did, plug in a really strong fully charged batter sometimes works, or you see the whole in your cylinder, use a flat head screw driver to push it back past the last tooth and it'll unwind back to its original unpulled state

  • Problem finally solved I suppose! I had literally replaced all of the internals. Haha. And it still didn't work. Then I had used a different battery, and walla, it worked. So it was initially my gearbox that was jammed, I had left the battery discharged, and at that point everything went kaput. Thanks for all the help guys!

  • @gustan the same thing happened to me, does that just mean i need to buy a new battery? cuz if i do then shit. i just bought a new battery and thats the one that doesnt work

  • @futurerev21 You might still be able to return it for a new one. This problem is linked to literally all of the parts in your gun, cant tell you exactly which part of mine failed since I replaced them all. If it makes a clicking noise like this, basically the gearbox is stuck or doesn't have enough power to make a full rotation of the bevel gear (or any other gear perse). Getting a stronger battery (too strong will blow the fuse and render the gun inoperable), or properly charging your new-

  • @gustan battery so that it won't gain memory will help. Before you do that, I would check the adjustment screw on the bottom of your gun's handle and slowly twist it until the gun makes a different sound. It will either make this click meaning its stuck, a high pitched whine, which screws your gears up since they're not touching, or it will fire. If adjusting doesn't work, chances are it's the battery. Overcharging Chinese batteries totally screws them up. Hope you get it working!

  • @gustan k well im gunna get a new gearbox and a new battery. my gun has problems, i bought a 9.6 battery and the rate of fire was slower than it was with the 8.4. dboys sucks

  • @gustan okay and also, what brand of gearbox should i get for around 50-70 dollars? i wouldnt like to go all the way up to 70, but in that range, and what gearboxes will work for this gun? i want a much faster rate of fire cuz this gun is shitty stock.

  • @futurerev21 Well actually I took the hard way out purchasing a Systema gear set and shims. Then I bought a Dboys reinforced gearbox shell and spring separately from Craigslist and put it together. Make sure you have tons of grease available. There should be a video or two that I had favorited that shows assembly and teardown of the gearbox. Also, if you chose to use old parts, put a screwdriver in the spring so it doesn't snap the case open shooting gears everywhere.

  • @gustan lol all i had to do was charge the battery and hit the gearbox a couple times and then shoot it while the gearbox was outside of the gun

  • @gustan also what i did was i took out the anti reversal latch, that helped it because now the piston wont stick when u pull the trigger too fast the piston wont stick in the cocked position, instead it will just go back forward

  • @futurerev21 Lols, I think something bad is bound to happen, but hey it works for now! Yah, my battery was so drained the voltometer only saw 3 volts or so going through. Make sure you don't overcharge it.

  • @gustan one FINAL question, first of all i bought a new gearbox, but it was the same dboys one, but, would a 13.6 volt super nicad battery wear out this gun or not? my dad wants to use it but idk if it would break it

  • @futurerev21 O presume it would? In the worst cast it will blow out the fuse. I am using a 9.6v and that's even going a lil bit high.

  • maby your piston is to far back try to brake down your gun and and try to push the plastic piston forword.

  • ok so i think that my motor over heated and can some1 please replay saying that if it did over heat because i took out the motor let it sit for about a month put it back in and nothing happened, so do you think that i over heated it or my gun broke because i really do not want to take apart my 600 dollor gun and break it "trying" to fix it

  • ok can sum1 please respome on this comment because i dont want to spend 70 dollors for a new motor and to learn that my gun is broken, ok so one day i was shooting my airsoft gun, just to let every1 know i am a sprayer and i shoot liek hell i own two 5000 round motor box mages for my m4 ok so i was spraying liek normaly firing like hell at random shot than i noticed that my handel was really hot and thats where the motor is all the suden my gun stoped worksing so i think i over heated my motor..

  • Your motor is sitting too low. I don't know if you have already solved the problem but on the bottom of the hand grip there should be a small hex screw. Turn that until it shoots again.

  • Might be some shit caught up in the gears

  • shake the gun and pull the trigger in full auto

  • mine does the same thing, can anyone help me fix it ??

  • ur piston is locked back....use a higher voltage battery such as 9.6 3800mAh

  • Your battery is crap, doesn't have enough disscharge power and when the piston is half way up, the battery doesn't have the power to turn the motor....

you need a big battery, or lipo. I had the same problem.

  • @luika80 battery and can recommend me for my M4A1? I have the same problem

  • @313linkinpark - the solution is a LiPo battery if you want to keep the clean look of your gun, but be shure to tune up your Gerbox before you put an 11.1V LiPo in. If you are happy with the ROF as it is, a 7.4V LiPo will work for you just fine without any tuneup in the gearbox.

The other way to go arround this problem is a big capacity NiMH battery 2200mAh or higher. These have higher discharge and longer life than the smaller ones, but you'll have to find a way to put it somewhere..stock maybe

  • @luika80 Thanks luika80! =)

  • @313linkinpark WTF??????? WHAT U TRYING TO SAY

  • I have had this issue before. Remove your motor, place a screw driver down the handle and try to remove the bevel gear. The anti reversal latch is stock and will not let your piston come forward

  • maybe it's your trigger that was my problem.

  • @AirsoftBushido Naw, It worked again for a coupla days at one point, I thought I had it working, then the spade connectors ended up snapping. Urgh. Its not a problem with anything with the gearbox...I thinkkk. But it's def not the trigger.

  • You are experincing a gear lock up which is basically what the fuck my gay ass gearbox is having right now. The shim job is locking it up and its too tight.

  • maybe the fuze broke

  • Naw, the motor spins the right way because it fired recently.

  • @gustan the gearbox is locked, take it to a local airsoft store and ask them to unlock it

  • hey, i replaced my gearbox and my motor in my aeg, and when i finally installed it and charged the battery and hooked it all up to run it, it did the exact same thing. i tried putting in a different spring, everything. turns out, the symbols on my motor were backwards, and it was spinning in reverse of what it should. the anti reversal latch kept the gears from spinning. try putting the motor connectors on the opposite terminals.

  • my gun did something similar so i put in auto and it fired and then put in semi and it worked

  • @tobyaddams Yeah, I tried that. Putting it on auto usually gives it more torque I believe, but it didn't work. My gun is just stupid.

  • If you are not able to do this yourself, I recommend taking your gun to an airsoft shop and have them do it for you.

  • @10Johnson10 Well, I could easily replace the motor and the battery. Unfortunetely, it wioll be more money wasted. Since the gearbox is new, and had a good review on the site I bought it from, I think that the shimjob is alright and its oiled well. As I had stated, the gun was brought to an airsoft repair place, and they ended up breaking my gun more!

  • @gustan I got the gun to work two days ago, and again, it doesn't work ( the contact sockets tore). Do you by any chance know the name of those? I want to check if Frys carries them. Thanks!

  • I am trying to explain to you that D-Boys does not properly shim their gearboxes in their factory and the motor that comes with the gun is crap. Most people that buy D-boys guns are beginners because anyone who is experienced will know about the problems that D-boys guns have. The reviews may be good on the website you bought your gun on, but that is because the reviewers have nothing to compare the gun to.

  • You should take or send your gun to a respected airsoft shop (such as Airsoftgi), not whatever piece of crap place you took it to before.

  • Funny enough, I took it to Airsoft Extreme, which is supposed to be the best airsoft shot in Cali! The gearbox is not made by Dboys, but I see that the motor is complete crap. The reason why I even got this gun is that it seemed like a really nice entry level AEG. I am not willing o spend another 45 an hour to get this $130 gun fixed. Haha.

  • I used to have a D-boys. They are pieces of crap unless you do a lot of work to them. The problem that you are having is a result of your battery and motor not having the power to pull the spring back the rest of the way. This is caused by several factors including: a horrible shim job, a crappy motor, a rough gearbox, bad wiring, and a crappy battery. Mine did this when I first bought it, but I polished, re-shimmed, and rewired the gearbox and bought a new battery.

  • Well, my gun have problem after 3 days? Its also same with yours but its Tokyo Marui. I gotta press the battery in order for it to works, i think the battery is loosen. Dunno what to do though..

  • @iLengzai Yeah, this is a clone of the Marui, except it has a better external build and a worse internal one. If I were you though, I'd send the Marui back to get a new one since they come with warranty. If you cant, just recrimp a new connector.
