  • Which tool/screwdriver did you use to get the top screws off? I can't seem to find the right one

  • Damn I need to upgrade from a hori fs3 wireless to this is it a good choice or do you recommend something else?

  • dope fight stick, gotta get me one

  • Nice video

  • Tool for losers.

  • I READ ALOT OF NEGATIVE REVIEW ABOUT SEIMITSU AND HOW SANWA IS SO MUCH BETTER BUT WHEN I GOT MY EX-SE I CAN SAY THAT SEIMITSU MAKES THE BEST STICKS , THEY ARE BETTER THAN SANWA AND THEY FEEL BETTER. IM A SEIMITSU GUY NOW AND NEVER GOING BACK TO SANWA. BY THE WAY HORI MAKE BETTER STICK THAN MADCATZ.... JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE

  • cool sense it's design like that, i can change those buttons. i have the original arcade buttons that plays quietly and smooth without the crappy clicking sound.

  • GOD I CANT WAIT TILL MINE COMES IN THE MAIL!!!

  • those buttons sound pretty good

  • @Edgehead1132 ya i know sounds and probably works a hell of a lot better that madcaz i had a bad experience with them bought one of their sticks and it broke in a good 4-5 hrs hori is the best at making fightsticks(personal opinion)

  • So basic i could strip this stick down and put on a arcade cab? bit like a j-pac etc.. but for xbox

  • I hate square gates. my only gripe with this nice stick.

  • @hassmann2000, you play fighting games, right?

  • @Aitor I do. But I am more of a joypad guy. We didnt really have arcades here in the UK so much so I got used to a joypad from ages ago.

I got a good stick once, but it was a square gate and I just couldnt get into it.

the corners made it hard to use.

  • @Aitor Probably play grapplers.

  • @MrNick2D Only mahjong but with great precision XD

  • @hassmann2000

Take another look at the gate.

& they cost nothing to replace anyway...

  • I have that joystick and I'm thinking of replacing the buttons with Sanwa

  • I have that controller and I like it more than the Street Fighter IV SE fightstick

  • So you just unscrew the bolts on the faceplate, and you can take it off? You don't have to open the stick from underneath?

  • what is the difference between the HORI EX and HORI EX SE - Physically exactly the same??

  • @XXdocrishiXX

The hori EX uses a hori stick and hori buttons, the EX-SE uses a seimitsu stick and seimitsu buttons.

  • @irytn No the Hori EX uses the JLS series stick, which is a sanwa stick, but it uses Hori buttons, which are bad.

  • @XXdocrishiXX

The SE uses another companies parts.

  • does anybody know if this uses an LS-56 series stick?

  • @VigorousjammerX

    It uses the LS-32.

  • you know, for a company that makes arcade sticks, you would at least think they use quick disconnects for open switch joysticks. Not very professional like.

  • Can you tell me why you went with Semitsu vs Sanwa? I would like to know because Iam buying a stick and modding it.

  • @KrownClown SE is for 360, SA is for PS3. SE stands for Seimitsu, and SA is for sanwa respectively. I would recommend Sanwa parts personally if you're building your own.

  • Some people told me it deals with preference. So what ima do is, ima go to ctf this weekend and find cabinets with semitsu and some with sanwa to see which feels more natural

  • Not quite true. SE=Special Edition and SA=Special Addition (hori page). I prefer Seimitsu over Sanwa, because I like the directness of the seimitsu sticks. Sanwas are sometimes to flabby imo. The RAP SEs are awesome

  • SE is Special Edition n00b

  • I know what it "says," but it's quite obvious since the SE has SEimitsu buttons, and the SA has SAnwa buttons, that that's what they really mean by the abbreviations.

  • Oh really? Thanks, and now I know and knowing is half the battle

  • II just got my HRAP EX-SE off of amazone for 89.99. I'm satisfied with it.

But if I could buy another stick again it would have to be the Madcatz TE. To me its way better because it doesn't feel as hollow and is more quieter then the HRAP EX SE.

I love the HRAP EX SE for shoot-em-up games though. The LS-32 is the best stick for it. I just got done playing Ikaruga and I had fun.

  • Amazon is selling it for $79,78 as of December 10th!!

  • HELP: I want to buy a stick!

But Wich Hori stick is better for Xbx 360 ?????

Real Arcade Pro EX SE (in this video)

or the Hori "Death-Smiles Arcade Stick????

    Thanks for an anserd!!!

  • I would say the SE.

The DeathSmiles stick is basically a skinned regular HRAP EX. They use Hori parts and while those aren't bad (I have a Hori EX2), they're not as good or reliable as seimitsu or sanwa parts.

If you can spare the expense, get this or the SFIV tournament stick. They're both worth the money (I have this stick, it's fantastic)

  • Thanks for your profesionell anserd.

I have bought the SE Stick now. It haves all parts Stick and Buttons from Seimitsu. I have Deadsmiles but i am not a big fan of it. if i must seen this stick longer its maby tu much. Dead Smiles is to easy. I like Cave shooters like Donpachi the difficult Level is verry high inthe new Donpachi vor the 360. In Compare to Deathsmiles Deatsmiles is verry childish. Without training i come to the 4 Level at the first time. But the graphics are nice.

  • Plastic? Both Seimitsu and Sanwa (2 of the top joystick manufacturers) make their stuff with some plastic on it you like it or not. Wait till you try one of these, how it performs and then you write back ;D

  • No need to freak out. I am enlightened thank you.

  • It's supposed to click, it's a joystick..I don't know if you want your parts built out of stone or whatever, plastic is generally what they're made out of.

As for wireless, have fun with your input delay. Those are real arcade parts.

  • This thing has real arcade parts, they're Seimitsu some of the best parts you can get and wireless is not something you want when playing fighting games.

  • "real arcade parts"???

You realize that seimitsu sticks and buttons (both in this stick) are regularly used in japanese arcade decks, don't you? Aside from a wood casing, this is about "real arcade" as you're going to get in personal stick form.

  • haha i'm not gonna rant on your post, i'm just gonna say i hope you've learned from other people that this stick is legit.

  • So how is this stick any different from the HRAP?

  • Does the LS-32 on HRAP EX SE come with the RE (flat) mounting plate or the SS (not-flat) mounting plate?

  • ss!

  • Could you try it in a Games for windows game? I need to know if it will work on Street Fighter 4 for PC.

  • its best to take off the bottom blue part because it interferes with the square 8 way rotation. but i rather have the 8 way octagon rotation instead to feel up, down, left, right areas. its really hard to explain. mabey you will understand =P

  • What's the difference between this and the Hori Real Arcade Pro Ex? What's the SE stand for?

  • The SE literally stands Special Edition but its "special" because it has full Seimitsu parts.

There is also the HRAP3-SA which is the "special addition" and is fully equipped with Sanwa parts.

Both the SE and SA are special/upgraded versions of the Hori Real Arcade Pro sticks, each equipped with arcade grade parts from Seimitsu or Sanwa instead of the Hori parts. Both HRAP EX and HRAP3 has Sanwa joystick and Hori buttons.

  • it looks nice. but how is the lag on moves?

How is the lag with Marvel 2.

Do weak attacks combo easily when the button is pressed on games like super Turbo.

  • i love those black rimmed flat buttons.

too bad they don't use QD on the joystick.

but LS-32 is a good stick I doubt anyone need to change that.

  • clean

  • sexy

  • Lots of bad press regarding the Mad Catz sticks, they seem to have loads of issues with how the products are finished, some stop working... Glad also that I purchased a Hori: brilliant build, good parts, good finishing, nice and heaving. Very responsive too, worth every penny. BTW, the stock Hori buttons are not that bad, they too are very responsive, but the SANWA buttons are just soooooo much better :)

  • As I've said on some other videos - my TE came with 'limited edition' scratches all over it - quite light but noticable to me and quite disappointing.. The actual stick itself is awesome however, very smooth, very responsive - I'm happy with it, but will be looking to get a new cover ASAP (to be honest I prefer the SE artwork).

  • Don't know what Hori controller you got... the HRAP EX-SE is all Seimitsu, stick and buttons.

  • he has the madcats sanwa stick

  • HRAP.EX. Just comes with a Sanwa stick and stock Hori buttons. The regular HRAP.EX is prior to that HRAP.EX SA and the HRAP.EX SE.

  • What are the differences between seimitsu and sanwa parts?

  • Thank you. I'll get some an HRAP-SE then.

  • I can't tell you the difference in joysticks as I have only used Sanwa (which I like), but there is a bit of difference in buttons. Sanwa's are very very sensitive. Brush your finger over the button and it will response. Seimitsu's on the other hand are not as responsive requiring a small amount of more force to push them down. I personally prefer Sanwa's but I know others who prefer Seimitsu's because of how sensitive the Sanwa's are.

  • I have 3 joysticks: NEOGEO Stick 2, Fighter Stick V and the Tournament Edition FightStick. All have microswitches. I've opened the sticks and the Sanwa JLF stick in the TE stick is twice as big compared to my other sticks. The stick and buttons of the TE feel exactly like the arcademachines while the regular microswitch sticks feel loose and flimsy. I've used the Neo and Fighter V stick for many years and I can say the Sanwa parts feel many many times more finetuned. You have to try it yourself.

  • Thanks, So the TE is the best model?

  • The TE stick has been praised by the media as the best stick so far because it uses parts from Sanwa Denshi and has the VEWLIX cabinet design which is huge (bigger than a PS3 console!) and sturdy. But as DoctaDre2099 says, some people don't like sensitive parts, which is why they prefer HORI's Seimitsu sticks. It's preference. I personally like it to be sensitive, which is good for combos and fast play. TE is less expensive than HORI's sticks. In Japan: Sanwa = number 1, Seimitsu = number 2.

  • @Aitor most likely the hrap ex

  • when i wen to japana o notices that street fighter 3 strike and king of fighter xi have these kind of joystick, so bad they dont sell them overhere

  • Is "japana" a club around your house? Where is "overhere", The Republic of Ignorants? You obviously have no freaking idea what you are talking about nor you ever tried or know anything about the HARP EX-SE, it seems. Usually fighting game cabinets carry Sanwa components like the Mad Catz TE and not Seimitsu (HARP EX-SE) although the last one can be as good or better, depending on your preferences. Next time you comment research so you don't make a fool of yourself!

  • Menuda contestacion mas borde, si el chico no es un freak de las recreativas no es para que te pongas asi.

  • I think you misunderstood the boy... He is saying that He saw the street fighter 3 and kof cabinets have this type of sticks and that it is a shame these arent sold wherever he lives... Calm down mate.

  • Yes I though that too - Aitor, apologise to the guy! ^_^

  • how come the EX SE sticks have Seimitsu sticks, yet the EX regular (the one I have) has Senwa. kinda strange. oh well

  • If they put Sanwa parts into the SE, then the SE wouldn't have a cool double meaning.

Really though, Seimitsu's a good manufacturer of arcade parts. Whether you prefer one manufacturer's type or another depends on your taste.

  • Oh no, the angry nerd is on a rampage, someone stop him quick, his wiry frame may be the end of us all. Calm down nerd. If you feel he is wrong, respectfully correct him and know you've done good by helping someone out instead of acting like a stuck up pompous douche.

  • 3rd strike cabinets use the LS-32

  • nope, because there are no third strike dedicated cabs in japan, only in u.s. the u.s. cabs use happ parts anyways. aside from that, candy cabs use an array of sanwa or seimitsu parts. but generally, some cabs come pre installed with seimitsu parts, astro city being one of them

  • @kaineternal

    Um, so?

  • A very sweet stick indeed. I have just ordered a standard HRAP.EX and will change the stock buttons for Sanwa, because I prefer them.

    Saludos, Aitor.

  • God bless EOL hehe. I've ordered one of these my self. The only thing I will do is configure the layout. No need to change the buttons.

Maybe if I get tired of seimitsu I'll get myself some sanwas. Definitely like this one better than TE from madcatz. The parts may be sanwa but the build is from madcatz...

  • Lucky bastard, you already got it. Ah well, the only bad thing about is the communicator placement.

  • I have this stick it is great but i'm also gonna get the street fighter stick also. The only downside is just that there are four sides which can get a little bit annoying at times. Either than that great stick.

  • Is the diff between this and the hrap ex is the parts right?

Like the ex uses hori buttons while these seimitsu's?

And or did you mod your own parts into it?

  • yeah the part, HRAPEX has sanwa JLF stick and horri btns, part here are original seimitsu.

the pcb is the same as hrap ex, and you wont be able to dual mod with that.

  • I wonder how it compares to the Mad Catz TE street fighter fightstick

  • well, it's feels quite different, the stick is more "clicky" (neo geo home stick had seimitsu stick for example) and the buttons are a bit different too, overall, it's better for "shoot them up" I guess.
