I am Serb, and as you can see from a top comment, Scotland is really popular in Serbia... and Ireland, too (there is one famous serbian band, orthodox celts that play irish music, type on youtube). We feel like Irish and Scots are our brothers, because of so many historic similarities, we were both occupied so many times, we both fought so many wars, we both died in thousands... and we are both in some kind of foreign and domestic occupation right now.
We want independence so that we can be like every other nation in the world, controlling everything affecting us, raising & spending our own money and making our own choices in the best interests of our people. We are more than capable of doing that ourselves rather than allowing another government to do it for us. This movie, for me as a proud scot gets me very emotional. To think back to the days when our people were not free and constantly being attacked just for wanting to be independent. independence option! Just because a referendum will take place doesn't mean it is a given that Scots will vote for it. Secondly they are attempting to strengthen the powers of the devolved Holyrood parliament first. A fall back option I suppose. Get that secured before risking all on a fast track referendum

The debate has been within Scotland and up until now the Nats have not held enough seats at Holyrood to obtain a referendum but they have now! They could hold a referendum now if they want but the strategy is to have it in about 3 years time. Why three years? Probably two fold reason. Give time to persuade Scots to opt for the
