When I was only 14 years old, I accidentally met Andrei Gromyko and talked to him for about a half hour outside the BOQ at the Argentia Naval Air Base, Argentia, Newfoundland, the day before he was supposed to meet with President Kennedy. He said his name was Andy or Andrew, in English. He was really a nice guy, very sincere and frank. Although he sounds like he has an accent on TV, when I talked to him I didn't hear a single word with an accent. He spoke perfect English.
