  • @jimmo4life

Oh damn it ok sorry ! LOL

  • Thx

  • Nice Video!

  • Is it better to prime before applying filler? Or just put it straight on bare metal?

  • @Pendemic bare metal

  • @ComonPpl00 I see. What if I'm not going down to bare metal?

  • @Pendemic

I think bare metals better, most filler company's say bare metal....some paint companies and some OEM warranty will recommend epoxy first. If it's a large job it might work to protect the metal while you putter around fixing dents, it's the only situation I see much benefit.

  • @jimmo4life Great, thanks. I guess I made the mistake of priming first before applying the filler, and then priming over it again...DOH!

  • graet vid

  • great video!!! question: when I do the filling and wait some days/weeks to paint over a part is any suggestion like sand again? or wipe? or something? also...I was finishing a door that someone else did and primed...now I fixed for my project and found black DOTS under the grey primer...probably rust? that can affect the job? thansk for the help.

  • @PCSOLVER1

It depends on the product where you need to sand it or not, I've encountered primers that you do need to and either way it can't hurt to give it a quick sand if it's been sitting a while. For the most part I think you'd be alright tho. Ya, sounds like rust...it will certainly affect the job if it's not removed it will just spread.

  • Yes, I found the dots because were like small proteberances on the gray primer...like the primer had smallpocks illness...NOW...is better to go to BARE METAL...and do a ETCHING primer over...and after the Y2K primer? a can of self etching primer is ok for small jobs? thanks for all the help!

  • @PCSOLVER1

Providing your not using any body fillers that would be ok, aerosols aren't generally ever the best idea but in a pinch it should get the job done.

  • I am scared to go bare metal under those black DOTS...and use bondo over WITHOUTH the filler..(using Bondo filler)..
