  • Why do they make these stones in such odd increments?

  • @wafflecushioned It's probably in kilograms converted to pounds

  • Wow to be able to do it once and then go for a second attempt amazing

  • seems like you yelling at him works alot haha.take care kelly

  • what a fitting last name

  • how do u get that buff and train for that stuff

  • @themanisdrew Increase your squat, deadlift and bench and do strongman training. Yokes, sled drags, prowler runs, tyre flips, tyre hammers. Basically carrying or pushing or pulling heavy weight. Lots of powerlifters move to strongman training as they have such a good foundation of strength. It carries over nicely.

  • just the fact they can squat with that weight is amazing

  • I think my boy Ryan can take him.

  • @theasylumgym lol!

  • damn the fucking ground shook.

  • shame he can not do it when it counts at the WSM strong man though

  • check out my videos!

  • hahaha you cant compare a gorilla with a human, you cant say how a gorilla would do it just cause of the range and length of his bodyparts, a gorilla is completely different, his body composition is completely different and his muscles works completelly different to our muscles, i dont know how much a gorilla can bench, and thats not for them but they can take you from your leg and throw you some various feet in the air that for sure.

  • Omg Yalashaska you gotta be kidding me , you don't know how much a gorilla can bench? :D

  • light weight!

  • ....dudes,,, a slick, smooth sphere at over 500 lbs... this is not like bangin' a fat chick... there are no handles, grip spots, knurling... this is an amazing feat of strength and balance. yikes.

  • reppin CT baby!

  • this is THE year...

  • hell yeah derek is going to take this year in wsm.

  • Agreed :D

  • OR NOT? :D

  • i would have rather hear the audio from the video not creed, nice vid tho...your gonna be thee best

  • I would have rather listened to you yelling than Creed (good god they are terrible). Regardless, Derek is the future of strongman and congrats on taking the arnold...one down two to go.

  • Derek, it's just the beggining! You will win all the shows from now on! I wish you all the luck!!!

  • Hi, Derek you're the best, hope to see u again to Fortissimus...

We will be there for U.

    (Derek Cyr)

  • MIND BOGGLING !!!!!!! cant wait till yuo compete in our homestate here in CT !!!

GREAT JOB !!!!!!!! met yuo last yr at mohegan sun super series, GREAT to see yuo win it all ! peaceeeeeeeeee

  • Congratulations to Derek! It doesn't matter that he failed to load that stone.. Y'all must know that this year is the begining of Derek's rise to the top. This year he will win all the contests, and in the years to come, he will defend his titles. He has everything that a champion is made of. Go Derek!

  • Thank you for posting this, his videos motivate all of us. I did want to hear you screaming though...hahaha

  • Derek is awesome, but he seems to have a bad habit of not finishing off a stone.

  • it's a bit height disadvantage tbh, derek has got more strength than other athletes and that's why he is able to load the stone in his 2nd attempt, pure raw power.

  • I agree that Derek's height (I think he's 6'1") is a deterimental factor in stone loading... but of the two drops I've seen of his (this one and the WSM final) it seems like technique/concentration is what fails him because both times he was able to finish it on the second attempt. It's like he had to make an adjustment after learning what didn't work on the first attempt.

Derek doesn't have the most experience in Strongman, but that means he will only get better over time.

  • Isn't Mariusz only 5'11 or 6' with shoes? Regardless Poundstone is a beast. Mariusz only won last year because lb.stone's stone rolled down the platform- he got it up there first though. I think Derek has the potential to be the greatest American Champion ever- if not the winningest champion ever.

  • mariusz is 5'9 in his bare feet

  • @5pid3y No, Mariusz was at least 5'11, he was 6'2 using the high heels shoes, but the heels were not THAT high lol I would say he is 6~6'1

  • come on, Mariusz had a miss like that also on 2006 against phil Pfister. That happens, what you gonna do, just keep going. And when you load the stone that can happen, is part of the game. You cant say:-hey i didn't do it because i slip the stone, give me the WSM award.-

  • Could a silverback gorrila lift that?

  • yes, yes he can.

    does that answer your question?

    :)

  • The DNA of gorillas is 98%99% identical to that of a human. Adult males range in height from 165-175 cm (5 ft 5 in 5 ft 9 in), and in weight from 140204.5 kg (310450 lb).

Gorillas born strong. Gorrilas are stronger than humans.

Am imagnary trained gorilla is stronger than a treained human.

  • Is a 450 lbs silvergack gorrila stronger than Dennis Rogers, Andy Bolton, Derek Poundstone, and Ryan Kennelly?

  • no doubt

  • if the nigger is strong enought yes, but i doesnt need a silver mohawk no.

  • Why do white people act gay?

  • beacuse theyre not mowaks with niggers on them.

  • Since they "estimate" a gorilla is good for a 2000kg (think thats around 4000pounds) benchpress, i'd say he would do this easily :)

  • @Odium1981: You're a super late responder.

  • Better late than never! ;)

  • That's improbable.

  • Would a 450 lbs silverback lift that over its body?

  • easy

  • @Jerrime2009 the way a gorillas muscles and skeletal systems are comprised make them much stronger than humans. on average their arms are stronger than 8 men. they are not as tall as us either and most of their weight is in there arms and upper body.

  • mariusz also made a mistake in 2008 when they had to lift the car frames

  • Because the stone rolled? You stupid? It was his fault for not being able to control the weight of the stone thats a whole part of being strong not just lifting the weight BUT controlling is PERIOD.

  • Jeeze, take it personally guys! Haha, I was just saying it was a very close competition, especially for him being so young to the game and shooting right up to the top. Relax!

  • I wanna see the original one so i can hear you Kristen! Pleeease :D!?
