  • Ah, the Doctor, ever the epic badass, especially if you threaten his companions.

  • still darn good after all these years

  • Peter Davidson was my first Doctor. He will always be one of my favorites!

  • This story actually was voted the #1 Best Doctor Who Story, in Doctor Who Magazine in 2009. With Davisons acting like this, I think I can understand why then. =3

I love the "Not a persaussive argument." line. X3

    What you think? =3

  • Ahh yes...the caves of Androzani...one of the biggest and best stories in doctor who history, really. This is a great one, and a good story arc for Davison to go out on.

  • so f**king heroic!!!

  • Another weakness of the 5th. He actually gave a shit about Perri!

  • @DarthAzabrush Pity he apparently hated Tegan. =D

  • This story is bloody depressing, in billions of way and I have not not watched it for years now.

  • You can see the start of the regeneration at the beginning of this scene just before Stotz talks to the Doctor outside the door

  • @zagreus316 Where, exactly? Can your reference a time index? I'm looking for it, but maybe I'm completely missing it.

And this is the best performance of any actor to play the role.

  • What happens next??Please tell me.

  • They say you can see him start to regenerate. When is this?

  • @RandyPantheGoatBoy just before this, his vision goes, it's the same visual effect that you see in part 4, when he regenerates...

  • Absolutely agreed. This one has always sent shivers up my spine.

  • What is the name of this eposode? I gotta look this one up!!!

  • @leoconvoy The Caves of Androzani

  • @leoconvoy The Caves of Androzani

  • epci stuff

  • He was a brilliant Doctor. I wish he met Doctor 6 astey would have disagreed on everything!

  • It's just the sheer desperation of a Doctor left with absolutely nothing left to lose by trying.

  • yeah this is so good, this is why and many other reasons that Peter davison is the best doctor along with jon pertwee, SCREW TENNANT! hes SO overrated, sorry but thats true. Davison underrated but so good

  • Yes !, that's true that's a fact, that's why this is probably my all time favrouite cliffhanger from my all time favrouite story

  • Omg, Omg! Just watched all 4 eps todaay, and yes, this is an epic cliffhanger!!

  • that puts any "cliffhanger" since, and especially in Matt smith's first series to total shame

  • @73129Dude well the pandorica episode's cliffhanger was like what is going to happen next?

  • @Smallvillenerd it was obvious, stupid reason for him to escape and they all live happily ever after. didnt happen in old who, and far better for it

  • @73129Dude mmmm true when he escaped it was like: well that was easy! still i think the fifth series improved heaps from the first four seasons. It's story was cool and tired up all the loose ends except for one which we'll find out in the sixth series

  • @Smallvillenerd i prefer the david tennant era, it wasnt so stupid. however, the older style where each story is individual apart from the links to previous episodes with the same villian is my preferred style

  • This is Five's crowning moment of awesome, right here.

  • for me the greatest doctor who story told by the greatest doctor who writer robert holmes

  • @Xeromoth you said it!

  • best cliffhanger ever

  • My personal fav cliffhanger too lol and me personal fav story. Caves of Androzani had some of the best cliffhangers, baddies and was a great story of greed and deseat, and what that gets you.

  • i love that just prior to this he almost regenerates but he manages to shake it off in order to complete what he has to do. its slighty similar to the tenth doctors

  • Huh ? when did he 'almost' regenerate ?

  • Next to The Five Doctors, the best episode EVER of Doctor Who is The Caves of Androzani :D

  • I thought that The Caves Of Androzani had some of the best cliffhangers ever.

  • It's definitely the best cliff hanger in Doctor Who to date and I don't think it will ever be bettered.

The 5th Doctor goes out on a real high.

    :-)

  • I know! It's one of the many reasons i watch this story! to remember that great ending to episode 3! X3

  • @Danbutch24 I owuld certainly agree with that very much so. I don't think it will ever be bettered,

  • @Danbutch24 its really the best becoz it is like: how does he get out of it? what happens next? and its well written this scene and so intense which is why it works

  • Ohmg you weren't kidding. It is a major cliffhanger.

  • it's one that makes me shiver to what lengths the doctor will g to, to save his friends! Luv ya!
