What a great story! He was a rare gem... not many left with that kind of class. I love the hymn! Some day I'd like to set my Dobro up like that... Thanks so much for sharing!
Os was a great hero of mine and getting to meet him backstage at the Opry was a high point of my life....seems we have something in common. I wish I could have had a chance to sit and learn at the master's feet...my dobro playing is not that great but I applaud you on your skills. ...by chance do you know "I'll be all smiles tonight"? that was my favorite Os instrumental.
WOW !!!! that sounds like a great experience , Brother Oswald was such a nice guy and a unusually gifted musician , Who is like him these days ? NO ONE thats who !!!
... he was so unique and GOOD !! We miss you mate !! thanks for sharing your great memories

Great video, thanks!Brother Oswald has been one of my favorite entertainers.Whatever happened to the other videos that used to be here?I want them all back.
Anyone playing dobro today, is passing through a door that was opened by Oswald. Thank you Mike, for the tuning comments, and the string guages, also.

Absolutely great. What a nice tone from that box. I play a Fender resonator which sounds OK but yours is really good. Thanks for sharing the story.

Nice story, I was a fan of Oswald for many years. I enjoyed his banjo playing before I ever heard of Earl Scruggs!
