.Oh and Party at Ground Zero --- plus songs off the Fury of the Aquabats, or even Pizza Day by the Aquabats... man... there should be a top 100, not 10... there are so many that are better than many of these--- catch 22's original Keasby Nights album has way better songs...
The toasters song should have been "Don't let the bastards grind you down", also, you're missing some other classics, like special brew live by bad manners or Little Bitch (originally by the Specials, but re-done by Radio Noise) or Slow Gherkin's song How Now Low Brow, or Potshot's song she is cute/clear WATCH THESE ON YOUTUBE YOU WILL LOVE THEM!!
Hey does anybody have any good sources/knowledge for writing horn parts? are they mostly in thirds, octaves 6ths, etc, and does anybody have any online sources?
I think this whole list is poop. Heres my list of ska bands that should have made the list and everyone should check them out. 1. The Slackers 2. Link 80 3. The Planet Smashers 4. Common Rider 5. Stuck Lucky 6. The Skatelites 7. The Specials 8. The Duppies 9. Rx Bandits 10. Voodoo Glow Skulls 11. The Flatliners Theres so much you people dont know!
nice picks but i think u should incorporate sum mexican ska like "the banda skalavera" or "8 kalacas" they r good local bands from los angeles u should check them out.
it's good that streetlight got #1, seeing as they have the best horn section of any ska band. and though i really love that cover of take on me, i don't think reel big fish gets credit for the horn part seeing as they didn't write it. although they did make it like a billion times more awesome
So, I'm tired and can't think too much about what i really like, but going into this, I totally thought The World Is New deserved to be here and it was, but still, my all time favorite ska horn line is Point the Blame by the great Catch 22.
Less Than Jake should definitely be on here. Liquor Store, Scott Farcas Takes it on the Chin, The Science of Selling Yourself Short... all great tracks
i agree wheres the less than jake? Scott Farcas Takes It On The Chin, kehoe, the science of selling yourself short, plastic cup polotics, gainesville rock city as magiceggroll said! less than jake is my favorite ska band, i vote you make a my favorite horn parts part two lol
I agree, that's the one post-Tomas good album as far as I know. I have yet to listen to listen to ALL of Permanent Revolution, but it's pretty cool. A Minor Point is nice.
MY FAVORITE SKA HORNS ARE DEFINATLY DOWN DOWN DOWN TO MAPHISTOS CAFE BY STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO! sorry, dont know why I was yelling at everyone.

I'd say add Gainesville Rock City by Less Than Jake. That's one hell of an intro.

My favourite song from Streetlight would probably be Down, Down, Down, To Mephisto's Cafe.

Too bad Catch 22 is better than Streetlight.

only when tomas was in it, not anymore haha.

Tsk tsk, basing the talent of a band on one member. It's a known fact that Catch 22 has improved tons since Mr. Kalnoky left.
