  • God bless you...hope it worked out 4 u...

    what a great story teller u r

  • SilverLake is Laurel & Hardy country check my vid.

  • NEWSFLASH!!!

Always check the storm drains Edith....fer chrisake, get with the program!! They must be checked yearly, preferably BEFORE the friggin Monsoon hits. SoCal has notoriously poor soil, and when it gets to the point called "supersaturation", the weight of the water overcomes the frictional bond between the soil particles. When this happens you are basically screwed! Sooooo! You can only enjoy the mudride to the bottom of the ravine....IF the fires don't get you first. Enjoy the sun!!

  • Floods! Lots of fun...

  • funny story! I know what it's like...although if it was me, I probably wouldn't have noticed I was naked until afterward

I think another storm might come in tomorrow. It shouldn't be anywhere near as bad as what happened in your story

  • I'm doin a visual of the two of you at 4 am!

    What a hoot.

  • When I was a kid my grandma lived on Ettrick St in Silver Lake, I LOVED that house!

  • Great story, Valerie. :-)

  • I enjoyed this tale, and was surprised by the nakedness at the end. I thought SoCal was more conservative than that. :P

  • I would have done exactly the same thing. Sometimes you just have to accept things as they happen and make the best of them. :)

  • mikma was here

  • MIKMA!

  • I hope some sunshine comes your way tomorrow to dry you all out! :)

  • The storm has passed. Thanks, darlin'!

  • You tell the best stories my darling. What a life time worth of stories I bet you could tell. If I can get Ms. Crabapples permission for you to come speak to my 3rd grade class would you come and act like I am your most favorite child and we have been to the moon together before and if anyone questions us you tell them that you have a wand that will put a spell on them and make them stay in the 3rd grade class of Ms. Rottenapple for ever. Bring pictures too of you bailing the water in the nude!

  • You're so funny! You should be telling this story on video. I've watched that one you have so many times I have frostbite. lol Just kidding. I hope you're at least keeping these in a journal or diary or something. Always makes me laugh!

  • i love stories like this :) thanks!!!

  • you're welcome ;0)

  • funny story

  • thank you

  • all we have here is high winds in the high desert of 29 palms :(

  • Oh, I know. I think you've had snow there this year. We have a little place in Morongo Valley, almost neighbors. LOL

  • Wow! That was a night from Hell. I think the 3rd time around I would've done just as you did. LOL

No rain here. Instead of a fireplace, I have the A/C running. :-)

    Moosie

  • Just visited your channel to see where you live and discovered I hadn't subscribed. So, I subscribed! but I didn't find out what part of the country you're from. Someplace warm I'm thinking?

  • YIKES!!! Val, you just attained the somewhat dubious honor of becoming my 200th subscriber! I was amazed when I got to 100, and I NEVER imagined I'd see 200. Thanks SO much!

I live on the Gulf coast of Florida. The temp right now, at 11 PM EST, is a cool 70°.

  • I live in Northern California and the storm heading your way is leaving our area. We were expecting 60+ mph winds with the rains, but this storm really wasn't too bad. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. Keep warm and dry!

  • The worst of it is past, we seem to have weathered it. Thanks!

  • Here in pennsylvania we have been getting a lot of snow and fast. Then it gets warm and melts during the day, then freezes to solid ice at night. It makes the roads very bad. Lovely weather around the world huh? haha

  • We really have it good here in Southern California compared to most other places. Take care, keep bundled up!

  • lol funny story, glad everything worked out for you guys :) well, it's windy as al heck here, i couldn't even open the stairwell door today for a good ten minutes for a swell in the wind because it was pushing too hard!! lol gutters are flying off the building... does colorado get tornadoes??i have no idea, but this is starting to feel a lot like tornado weather up here!! lol ...wish i had a basement... good luck to you!!

  • Oh, dear, it must be frightening for you. Please, we don't have anything like "real" weather, just earthquakes once in a while. You sound like you're really fighting the elements. Good luck to you!

  • Rain, rain, rain! It's pouring here too, but has just broken for a moment. What a story! Scary but funny at the end! Love you guys, stay dry!!

  • Thank you, darlin', you too!

  • At my all Girls school, we had to sing the maddening song of...'IT IS RAINING RAIN TODAY, IT'S RAINING DAFFODILS ! We hated it ! Hope all will be well in Silver Lake.

  • xyzllii!! ;>)

  • I sure hope the rains have stopped before I come for my drink with Gaylord! And that there is not a repeat of the water bailing incident. Check out Gunthor doing schnauzer trick's, it's my first youtube video! Luv ya

  • It's my real life daughter! Hi, sweetie, guess I never told you that embarassing story before, hehehe. You can learn a lot by watching YouTube! Hooray! you've put up a video, congratulations. I'm going to watch it right now. I love you, see you in a few days, I can't wait. --Mom

  • rain really stinks when it might be flooding. Hope its not to much rain.

  • It hasn't been too bad, right at the tail end of the storm now, it should be through by tomorrow morning. Thanks!

  • Yea Id be like why soak more piles of clothes, to hell with it lolol. Im glad your prepared hun!

    Bright blessings,

    Annya

  • Thanks, Annya!

  • What a story!Glad it turned out ok, but you really should come up with better reasons to get naked!

  • You think? lol

  • Wow!! That was quite an experience!! LOL, I think it is so funny that you thought I was calling you Grams!!! Blessings and Thanks, Grams

  • LOL Thanks!

  • Go get some cloths on your catch cold.

  • Brrrrr, that's a good suggestion! Thanks!

  • Water can certainly create a huge mess, can't it?

It is very cold here today. It has been snowing for a few days, but today we have some beautiful, long overdo sunshine! I miss the sun in the winter. I am so ready for spring!

  • It's cold here, too. At least for us. I'm going to go get some coffee (decaf these days) to warm me up. Have a good day and thanks for commenting!

  • Good to see you this morning! Your little "hi" cheered me up! Thanks.

  • You're so sweet to say that! Good to see you this morning, too.

  • Informative and well told. Nature's forces are so impressive. Thank you for your story.

  • You're welcome, restlessbones. Thanks for commenting!

  • Valerie,

WHAT A STORY! I hope all goes well during these storms. BE SAFE!

    Ronnie

  • Thanks, Ronnie. We now have a small pump. It rained all night but we didn't have to use it. I hope you're staying snug and dry! --Val

  • wonderful story-telling of a most inconvenient experience. Glad that at least, Maltz didn't have to do the doggy-paddle! Susan

  • Maltz slept through the whole thing. :0)

  • people running naked in the rain in CA? hard to believe ;)

  • hahaha

  • lol for a moment I thought you said you and Donnie were "all snuggled in with Nalts!"

You guys better not get rained away!!! <3

  • What do you mean? I did say that! hahaha (not really).

  • You should call Mr Naltsy and ask to do a collab-video with the three of you in the same bed. I'd watch that!

  • really nice story.5 stars:)

  • Thanks, sweetie!

  • Yeah, its really coming down pretty hard here (Whittier). Very funny story :)

  • Thanks, DeathRattle101. :0)

  • hahahhaa Funny story out of a situation that sounded awful!! i'm so tired now, i couldn't imagine having to go out and bail all the water out right now Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Glad you enjoyed it. I tried to make light of it because the worse that would have happened would have been some water in the bedroom, not a big deal when you think of the real tragedies happening every day.

  • Hey Val,

I'm sorry you had to go through that from the rain be4. I love the story, it was funny =)

  • Thanks!

  • You're stories are awesome. I wasn't expecting you guys to actually go out in the rain with no clothes on. lol. Hope you guys never have to do that again though.

  • At least not in the dead of winter! hahaha

  • They say it never rains during The Academy Awards. Here's hoping they're right.

Meanwhile, here in New York, everything is icy from our snowstorm.

BTW, my Miami home is still recovering from Hurricane Wilma 2 ½ years later. Our 26 story Condo was hit by a Tornado born from Wilma. Everyday you can go insane from the workmen's drills working on all the terraces. This is just the tip of the iceberg about the restoration. Yes, I was there when it hit.

    Don't ask.

  • Ah, nature!

  • I am so happy to hear you are not in danger for the mudslide issues! Hopefully you will not have to experience the massive rain and water drainage challenges ever again!Yikes! Naked Water fighters...TOO funny!

  • Thanks! It rained all night with no flooding. We now have a small pump but didn't have to use it.
